Jon Meyer Black Friday Sale - Kontakt Player/NKS Update
Technostica replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
I downloaded them last week and it might already be too late now. -
If true! Keep in mind that the full version still shows as €649. Some companies do odd things like that.

U-He - Everything (but Zebra Legacy) 50% off at various places!
Technostica replied to Kirean's topic in Deals
So what's the deal with Uhbik, apart from sounding like the Philip K. Dick novel Ubik? It can't be as trippy as a PKD book surely! ? -
Shows as €349 with tax for me and for a reference, the upgrade from Essential is €249.

How Modern Audio Repair Led to a New Beatles Song
Technostica replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
So who was it in marketing and sales that decided to label a reworked John Lennon demo as a Beatles tune? All of them. I think I will go and watch the video and then listen to the actual song with my eyes closed. The problem is that they set the bar so high that it's hard to compete. I grew up with the two Beatles compilations in the household, so they are like part of the furniture! -
If you can get an Essential 5 serial number, it then costs €9 if bought direct as you use the serial number as a €20 discount voucher; not sure about in $. If you can't get one for free, they are about $10 or less at the usual sites; KVR etc.
-
If you have a serial number for Essential, you can use it as a coupon to get a €20 discount direct with Celemony. It doesn't even matter if it has been registered as mine has been. Just entered that registered Serial No and it brought the update to Studio 5 from version 4 down to €9.

Yes, the options are more limited via third parties.
-
That's the way it is supposed to work according to support who I contacted last week.
-
They usually offer the same deal via 3rd parties.
-
VI-C also has some great people there, so defaulting to talking about a particular incident there and suggesting that therefore VI-C should be avoided seems unbalanced. There are people there that I block but I do that here also and at KVR. I only hang out out in the deals section here so I don't need to block many. People who regularly write essays on their pet peeves are included.

Just to be 100% clear, Forever 29 allows you to buy this for $1 if you have the coupon? Anyone have one to sell or a $75 or $50 voucher they don't want? I've just bought a 4 mic 3D array, so this would be interesting.

Up to 84% off iZotope Ozone 11 and Music Production 6 introductory sale,
Technostica replied to Larry Shelby's topic in Deals
Izotope seemingly have no way of validating if you are eligible for upgrades, so it leaves them very open to abuse. I did actually order the 5.x upgrade in the first week of August so was eligible anyway. But because of the way they bundle the licences, I just sell on what I don't require, which leaves me with a profit and two upgrades plus the two 3D reverbs. A strange way to run a business and maybe one that will dissappear if they integrate with NI more fully. NI don't make mistakes like that. -
I bought it for ~$220 last December after someone kindly shared their monthly voucher. I am done with buying PA now as I will still be exploring these in ten years time.
-
I'm not keen on tanks either, unless they are used for reverb.

With IKM, you have to pay a transfer fee for hardware, so that the new user can access firmware updates, utilities, and seemingly even drivers! Plus the software isn't transferred, even though they will transfer the exact same software if bought by itself. With NI's Maschine for example: The drivers and firmware etc are open to anyone. It's free to transfer the hardware and the Maschine software is automatically transferred with it. This is also stand-alone software in the way that IKMs is. So with IKM you pay and get less, whilst with NI it's free and you get more.
-
I am aware of IKM. Just pointing out that there’s nothing dubious with how NI handle Maschine IMO.
-
Yeah, but they want to upsell you a virtual dust cloth for twenty bucks.
-
The drivers for NI hardware are freely available. https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/ The Maschine software is licensed and can be transferred for free by the registered owner. They also sell the software by itself and the same goes for that. No drama unless you are ignorant about how software licensing works.
