Thanks HIBI and Jim! The MSI that HIBI mentioned does seem to slow the fans at lower temperatures. I'm going to trust Jim's judgement and go with a Gigabyte card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060. It has a lot of reviews that specifically mention how quiet it is.

Jim, is there a specific card you would recommend? I am not a gamer - this is a PC dedicated to Cakewalk. Need support for 3 monitors.

Thanks Jim! I am looking specifically at MSI GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6. It looks like the fans are pretty quiet and speed is adjustable. I've changed my mind on the 2 new TVs. My main Samsung AU8000 has good picture quality so I'm going with (2) 50" Samsung Q60A Series TVs (4k. 60Hz, 3840x2160) - same specs as the AU8000. I was thinking of going up to 120Hz model, but I don't know if that would make any difference as far as Cakewalk display is concerned. Cakewalk seems to render fine on the 60Hz model. Any opinion on 60Hz versus 120Hz?

I'm revamping my setup and will be using (3) 4k TV's as monitors. Main monitor is Samsung 55" 4k UHD AU8000. Thinking about (2) Toshiba 50C350LU 50" TVs as side monitors (flanking the Samsung on left and right in Portrait mode). What is the difference between the various "flavors" of the RTX cards? I'm looking at the RTX 3060 12GB GDRR6 card. Does it matter if it's branded MSI, EVGA, etc.? Is there a better option (RTX 3050, etc.)? I'm note well versed in the nuances of video cards. Not a gamer at all - this setup is strictly for Cakewalk. Side note: Opinions on the quality of the Toshiba TV welcome - I've never owned one...

Moises is fantastic and reasonably priced: https://moises.ai/ -
Not sure on that one, but there are many folks on this forum that know a lot more about Cakewalk than me :^) - hopefully one will know the answer...

Introducing Cakewalk Next and our new brand identity
Salvatore Sorice replied to Jesse Jost's topic in News & Announcements
Think I said this already, but just to reiterate - many thanks to Jesse, Noel, Mark and all the Staff for staying engaged and providing as much input/details as they can. Don't think you'll find that much direct / hands on involvement from many software companies.- 715 replies

Anyone know why I don't (and have never) seen all my Versions of Sonar under "Connected Products" in Command Center? I have licenses for X1, X2, etc. but only see Platinum in Command Center. I've already got all the installers downloaded and backed up for safekeeping, but was wondering if I could download some of the unique plugins that came with prior versions (without running the installers) - if that is even possible.

John, will you be able to re-post your tutorials under the new name? I've learned a lot from them and have many more I'd like to watch. Great stuff! -

Thanks to Noel and team for staying engaged and offering as much info as possible. That, in my opinion, is already a good sign - and not something you typically get with other vendors. -

Hopefully the 'upgrade' will play nice with all our 3rd party plugins/instruments. I'd hate to have to reinstall/reauthorize tons of stuff. -

Noel Borthwick, Command Center is offline. I wanted to download a lot of the things I paid for in the past. Are we out of luck? -
I bought licenses for many Cakewalk/Sonar versions over the years and have access to them through my Command Center account. Unfortunately, I did not know about the best install sequence (older versions first / CbB last) so that you get access to all the plugins that came with the older versions - and I'm too far in to consider a fresh install of Windows 10/11. Question: Would it be possible to install the older versions in a Windows Hyper-V Virtual Machine, export the plugins/FX (or copy the relevant DLL, etc. files), then import them into CbB? Has anyone done/tried that?

I would take this as good news!
Salvatore Sorice replied to Salvatore Sorice's topic in The Coffee House
Ed, I see your point and hope that is not the case. However, even if they opt for a realistic price (and NOT the dreaded subscription model) for future upgrades I'd be OK with that (i.e., you don't have to upgrade unless you want the new features). As we all know, nothing is truly "free". I'd be happy to support the Bakers - they've done really great work on this great DAW. -

EZ Drummer 3 - audio engine dropout
Salvatore Sorice replied to Salvatore Sorice's topic in Instruments & Effects
Thanks Tom. I did more testing and I get the same results for #2, some dropouts, some not. I guess I'll just live with it and see if the new update changes anything.
