Mix sound fine here perhaps a little hot need to turn down the volume on SC.
-
Most has probably been said, but it is hot for my taste, the snare sounds like it has had all the life squashed out of it. But if you are happy with it then... As noted above the mix needs some work, apologies.
-
The mix is tad hot for my tastes, other than that a mix and production up to your normal standard
-
Time is an illusion, a mathematical construct created by mathematicians to make their math work, simples. Mix sounds fine here, everything has a place, vocals clear and well placed.
-
Nice Bjorn, very easy on the furry ears, mix works here, left you a like and a comment on Soundcloud too. (OK Mr t)

Thanks Mark, I get certain geners need a chord formula, not sure I create for any specific genre. Appreciate your, time, ears, and your comments.

Thanks, nice to know my meandering noises are enjoyed.

@Amberwolf presumably you have tried. 1. A reset and rescan in the scaner. 2. There is no reason why you can't reinstall Cakewalk. You say you played with Platinum and it's been wrong since then, did you reinstall Sonar after installing Platinum? Did you do custom uninstall when removing Platinum? The scanner is slightly different and uses a SQL type database now. I would check that has not got file locked.

Cakewalk keeps crashing during freeze if I touch it

@Metalhawk what Ryzen CPU are you using, is it a recent one? I am aware there were two, historically, Ryzen's that didn't play well with music production, sorry don't know which one's as I have always been an Intel furry alien. Just an experience thing I suspect, having used PC/Intel computers since the 1980's. -
@aleo the performance monitor can show different types of CPU usage, if the furry brain remembers correctly the default is the % of CPU used for audio processing, or overall system performance or overall app performance. Right click on the module and select from the options. Presumably you have done all the standard OS DAW tweaks?

Thank you @Mr No Name.

Do you have an Bandlab account? If you are asking about Sonar you need to have an account and paid your subscription fee. If you are referring to CbB the free version you still need an account. Just use the activate option under Help.
-
@Amberwolf why are you not using the plugin version of MIDI guitar 2 in Cakewalk, it works reasonably well. Wish he would get the Windows version working of MIDI guitar 3.
-
Thank you Sir, nothing like the odd jazz note to keep one on your claw tips.
-
Do you have it set to Workspaces = None? If not you are using a workspace.
-
That is good to hear, be careful if you choose to remove CbB, it is probably not required, its footprint is quite tiny, but if you must, do a custom uninstall. As you correctly observe there is a Cakewalk file tree with all the shared components. The crux here is "shared", doing a straight uninstall would remove all the shared components, along with CbB, unfortunately the uninstaller is not very intelligent. Returning to your post it says 6% disk, are you saying your OS disk has only 6% free space? If this is the case this could be an issue. Ideally any disk should never be more than 75% capacity. This is to allow files to be replaced when updating or editing. I assume you realise when a file is edited you actually make a copy of the original which is locked and effectively hidden whilst the copy is modified. When you save the file it is only at that point is the original deleted. If my assumption is incorrect then I apologise. I run an i7 8700K with 32gig RAM but it has 4 disks the OS is a 500gig SSD, audio drive is a 500gig SSD, the Sample drive is a 1TB SSD, and the other drive is a 2TB HHD. CbB, Sonar run fine without issues. It is my backup test system, which was my primary system for the last 4 years, but I only replaced it this year with my new PC, spec in signature.

You have tried increasing the samples just fir the freeze? No need to disable wired networking it is only WiFi networking that screws with DAW operation. -
Can it handle polyphonic audio?
-
@aleo would it be correct to assume from you supplied spec, you have only one disk drive, with only 6% free space?
-
You are incorrect in your assumption regarding my level of prejudice towards yourself, neither publicly nor privately. I have no feelings one way or the other towards you, I do have a task to do in these forums and that is to keep things as correct as possible. You have repeatedly been told by staff the position of Bandlab regarding to topic of perpetual licensing but persistently bang the drum, possibly believing if you bang it long enough and hard enough you will brow beat the management into concededing to your demands. However your actions have now had a detrimental affect on this thread. Apologies to @Loody1985 but the actions of one give me little choice but to lock it. As has been suggested you try the free trial. Sonar has functionaly moved on from CbB, the basic workflow is the same as CbB, though it looks a little different due to the method used to generate the GUI. There have been serious improvements to the Audio engine and general operation of the whole program. You are correct in there is now being a charge to use it. There is a choice of monthly or yearly subscription, like so many audio software vendors are now doing, Roland, UVI, etc. The price is not unreasonable historically SONAR cost $450 to buy new, yes it was a perpetual licence which you had to renew each year to get the latest updates, features and bug fixes. The subscription offers near monthly bug fixes, new features when they become available and very diligent support when bugs are found. It is your choice stay with CbB or join the many that are helping Cakewalk Sonar to be a excellent audio tool.

Obviously you have never read the EULA that has come with software since the beginning of software for computers. You don't buy software, you buy a licence to use/operate it. The EULA gives you a licence to use the software, but you don't own it, it also gives the owner of the software, i.e. the issuer of the EULA, the right to withdraw your right to use it at anytime it feels like it. Recent changes to EU law now give the user the right to transfer that licence to a third party. The third party is subject to the same rules as the party who purchased that licence in the first instance.

😃😄 not sure if some are even the right chords, I keep finding interesting ones with a 4th or even a b5 or #5 that seem so much more interesting. Thanks again, you insight is so insightful 😉

I have heard that certain chords are supposed to follow, not quite sure why, I obviously don't know. Thanks for the ears and kind comments, good to know you enjoyed it too.
