craigb
That was interesting! So many bands came out of or were impacted by those seeds! My favorite part: Quote ...getting caught up in the May 1968 riots. His contribution was antic rather than insurrectionary. Prancing between the students on one side and police on the other, he sang absurdist ditties in a crazy costume, and rather than hurl paving stones at the gendarmes, he handed out teddy bears. 😆
pwal³
imho gong are way too underappreciated, but they were a big early thing for me so i'm probably biased
John Maar
Gong (and Amon Düül II (playing around Munich when I was stationed there) and others) are/were excellent. How I found Steve Hillage! Have all of his, too! Edited November 22, 2019 by John Maar
Pragi
Steve Hillage & Miquette Giraudy - System 7 a vid from a festival gig in 2009 As always, music from S.H is awesome.
John Maar
Good tunez! I also have his System 7 and earlier 777 CDs (before they were forced to change the name). If I had to pick one, I'd take Ozric Tentacles over System 7. Glad I don't have to pick just one! I'm definitely going to have to stream that show through my main system! Pragi
Agreed.the earlier tunes are mostly more impressive soundwise. The courage of improvising during a live gig with a guit and many soundtoys is impressing me much in the vid above. Thanks for the hind that Gong and the Steve Hillage Band are on the road again.
