Even with a 25% discount, Camtasia is pretty expensive. When Camtasia 9 turned up on Humble Bundle back in 2018, I actually bought two licenses for $20 each. Sure, it was the next to latest version, but still. Guess we’ll never see such prices from TechSmith again.

But a $121 upgrade, including a free upgrade to the next version, seems almost reasonable.

I’m not using Camtasia for video editing, but for screen capture with the possibility to add things like annotations, transitions and mouse effects. Or at times to simply extract the sound from say a YouTube clip to be used as a reference track in Cakewalk. For things like that it’s absolutely perfect.
