Cakewalk Running Slowly With Audio Engine Dropouts

I just installed Cakewalk last night, and I'm experiencing multiple issues.  When opening a new project, I immediately receive the following error message:  "Audio Engine Dropout - A dropout has stopped the audio engine. (0)"  Then, the mouse cursor quickly and continually shifts between the Windows blue busy circle and the expected cursor (multiple times per second).  The interface is slow and choppy in its reaction to mouse movements and clicks as well.  It almost appears as if the mouse input is queued when the busy cursor is displayed, then processed when the normal cursor is displayed.  I'm not even attempting to add tracks or record anything.  This is a fairly new PC: Windows 10, Core i9 CPU, 32 GB RAM, 256 GB M2 drive, 512 GB M2 drive, 3 TB spinning disk.  My plan was to install Cakewalk on the smaller M2 drive and process audio using the larger M2 drive.  I do not have a dedicated sound card.  My motherboard has integrated Realtek audio.  I wonder if that could be an issue.  My video card is an Nvidia GTX 1060.  Drivers are all up to date on everything.  Please advise.  My previously purchased SONAR software no longer functions, and I would very much like to use this product in its place.

You need to do some investigation to see why this is happening. Try changing the Driver Model to something other then ASIO (MME, or WASAPI).  Run latencymon on your computer to see if anything is interrupting the system and see if there are issues that will prevent realtime streaming of audio.

The built in audio devices, (Realtek) are always going to have some quirks with them since they are not designed for low-latency DAW type work.

May be able to help with this too especially if it is not too old and you want the content and 64bit plug-ins available for CbB.
