  1. Hi folks, Last time I posted a track on here, I really found the feedback helpful. I've applied the learning and hopefully it makes the listening experience better. Thank you!
  2. I uninstalled my cakewalk by bandlab to re-install it again in a new disc but the bandlab assistant does not give me this option anymore;please can someone help me to fix it
  3. Recently, I had the privilege of doing a review for IK Multimedia’s “SampleTron 2” an awesome VSTi with all of the feel of the 60’s and 70’s under the hood. I shared the review with my audience and tagged IK Multimedia in the social posts. To my surprise they made a front page article about the review and gave Cakewalk some love in the process! Check out the link below to see their write up about it all: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?item_id=11665 Viva La Cakewalk!
  4. Hi folks! OMG, I found a way to control Cakewalk with an iPad! It's easy (when you know how). Let me explain.... WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/d5Fjx5hASVE
  5. Cakewalk Sound Center's Pan + Volume knobs are clearly explained in the F1 online help, but not their right-click menus. I accidentally changed one of the values of these menus recently, and I'm confused and wondering if I messed something up. The knobs' menus indicate their current level. But they also show a current MIDI Learn CC selection (see fig. A) or a short menu with no Learn (see fig. B). It appears the context of these menus changes when "Add MIDI Control" is selected. This applies to both knobs and they can be set independently. I don't understand the right-click menus. Is there a default MIDI Control to set it to, or can it be anything I choose? I don't use MIDI Learn. Do I have to worry about these right-click menus, and will these "learned" controls affect playback? And for that matter, can someone explain "Set Min, Set Max, and Reverse"? As stated, I've only recently discovered these menus. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  6. Hi folks! To celebrate the release of the new export features in Cakewalk, I have a complete rundown for you! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/JgLoPMp-1_s
  7. Hello! As you can see in the image I attach, I can't add a new audio buffer. Why is that? I have problems with midi instruments. They don't sound as they should. Please, help me.
  8. Many Midi controlled VSTi instruments change articulation, expression, patterns, etc. based on midi "control notes" (i.e. C0, F#1, ...) Is there any way to hide these notes in Staff View? An implementation could work on a per track or global mode indicating a bottom and a top midi note to use in the filtering feature. Thank you.

  10. I have a Soundcraft Signature 22 MTK that I previously used with GarageBand no problem. Now im on a PC and I wanted to try out CakeWalk but am having some issues. Originally I was able to get a signal from the board into DAW, record and play back. On playback there was a clicking noise on the recording (wasn't same tempo as metronome) that I couldn't get rid of. I swapped Driver Mode from MME to ASIO, got rid of clicking but cant get signal into DAW now. I have install/swapped driver modes/reinstalled drivers and cant get signal. Not even a blip on the meter on any configuration. I've enabled record/echo and still nothing. Playing back sound from youtube and demo tracks is no problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Sorry it's probably a dumb question. I'm a total noob. There's a YouTube video that tells me how to get Cakewalk going, but once I start up Cakewalk, I lose the sound on YouTube. I did a capture of the video, but Winamp and Windows Media lost their sound as well. I get an error message "audio rendering error" or something like that, telling me to reboot my computer. Rebooting does not help. HELP!!!
  12. Hi folks! Programming your own custom drum patterns is a key skill, so I jumped into Cakewalk and created a beginner's guide! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/zHlDv3fs2F8
  13. Hey all, Not sure if this is the best place to put this, but what the hey: I have an unmanageably large library of instruments on a powerful computer that’s impossible to bring portably. If it’s not a feature yet, I’d like to request a feature and/or app that would allow my, say, laptop or even iPad, to the extent it can, be able to load projects in cakewalk remotely over the internet and use the resources of the stationary desktop to help with rendering audio FX, VSTi’s, MIDI, and audio data. In the mean time, What’s the best way to work on Cakewalk remotely? Codefreq
  14. So I had the "not responding problem" that some people are also getting. I figured out it has to do with the audio input and output. I originally had it set to Fl studio, after unchecking everything the app worked as it should. Only problem is I don't know which audio input and output to choose so I can actually hear. Can someone lead me to the right direction please? thanks *edit: I just checked voicemeter aux for input and output and it seems to work fine now.
  15. After updating to the most recent version of Cakewalk I booted up some old projects I've been working on but when I hit play it seems everything plays at half speed or slower, I was wondering if anyone else experienced this and how to get around it?
  16. I'm new to Bandlab and Cakewalk. I installed Cakewalk and I want to login with Google but everytime I want to login with my Google Account. I got redirected to the specific Google Account Page and I use Chrome. I got everytime "Error 400 (Bad Request)" and I don't know why is it happen. Can someone help me to fix this problem? 17. Hello guys. I just recently finished making my own theme for my projects. I would like to share this because someone asked if I could post it, if I will make one. The base UI for this theme is from the FLAT_WHITE theme. Thanks to @Colin Nicholls for making it. @chris.r Not completely inspected for overlooked color assignments. There are some few drawbacks for the colors selected but I believe this works for my workflow. Merry Christmas everyone. 22. Hello again, fellow KWalkers 😃. Quick question first. Does posting songs on Bandlab preserve their fidelity? I find that files lose quality in SoundCloud. It doesn't allow me to switch streaming from standard to high quality audio. Hoping to hear what your experience is with that. 🙏 So...about this song: This was the song I moved onto after I learned enough about programming guitars with MusicLab's RealGuitar and RealStrat on "For All We Know", as I mentioned in my last post, so all instruments here are also VST. The song is an original in Spanish that talks about missing someone and if Spanish is not one of your languages I would love it if you could show it to a friend. Yes, it's mine BTW and it's definitely not mastered either but I hope they get the idea. I didn't wanna bore you all with the translation here but I can add it later if anyone cares. 🤙 Meanwhile I hope you can listen to it and treat my voice in your minds just like another instrument. (I'd prefer to be a guitar in your minds if it's all the same to you LOL) At the time I wrote it I envisioned making it in the style of "Jesus To A Child" by George Michael, but that changed with the passage of time and under other influences. When I finally recorded the track as posted here, I had been listening a lot to John Mayer, so I ended up experimenting with some of his approaches to dynamics and arrangements. He doesn't have a powerful voice so they use a close mic-ing technique and they put kind of a flat EQ on his lead vocals (I hand held a Shure Beta 58 for this one) . They also put the lead vocals up front so the diction cuts through, and then they surround it with alternate vocal and instrumental melodies that become part of the chords in the arrangement. Maybe because of that they also don't mix the bass and drums as a typical rock mix. This is most often how they mix pop in other languages too, so to Spanish language listeners (me included) this approach feels natural. Though I can reach the higher notes in the backing vocals here, I used the available Melodyne and lowered the entire bounced track as needed to punch in some of the phrases and then moved those punches to the original song's key for mixing. The advantage I found to doing it this way is that the slight difference in texture (format) makes the harmonies more interesting. (Not feeling like the Castrati was another welcome benefit LOL) I hope you guys enjoy or at the very least can relate. Be well, KWalkers
  23. Hi folks! Workspaces and Screensets can do wonders for workflow in Cakewalk, but which one should you use? Take a look at my examples! WATCH HERE: https://youtu.be/6ahr6R8Ot7U
