  1. To save money, one thing I try to do about GAS (I don't always succeed) is to play what I already have. For example, Organic Samples has just come out with a new piano and it sounds incredible. I own everything else Organic Samples has made, so this would have been a no-brainer for me. But instead of buying it, I've been playing all the pianos I own, particularly Noire, because it is similar. And I ask myself, "what am I missing exactly in a piano?' And the answer is: absolutely nothing. Pianos are something I have covered to my satisfaction, like solo violins. People can come out with a new one and everybody can rave, but the beans are firmly implanted in my ears. I also get alerted to what I really want when I reach for something that's not there. When I did my "Louie Louie" video recently I wanted a B3 for the theme and I discovered I didn't have anything I liked. So that has put me into the market for the IK one, whenever the price is right. But if one of the other highly praised ones went on sale for $20, I might get it, because the IK one is $$$$$. And then there are products that fit into a niche I like, like world music. But as time goes by, I also have enough. I don't need another Duduk or frame drum. I'm good.
  2. I wasn't aware that John has built special free Unify libraries out of some of his Omni libraries. They are available on your downloads page. TetraSonics by Tim Dale – brand new library released in July 2020. 256 Patches plus 10 of the 64 Multis plus 27 new Patches by Tim Dale and John Lehmkuhl that combine Unify and TetraSonic’s together for incredible bonus patches. OmniVerse I: The Beginning – the first patch library for Omnisphere I ever created. Still one of the very best, imo! OmniVerse II: The Dark Hope – omninous 2nd chapter of this Trilogy about the planet OmniVerse. OmniVerse III: Aurora – the surprising magical Aurora light that saves the planet. The most cinematic of the 3 and includes bonus comic book and demo song by Amin Bhatia. OmniChill – Huge Basses, plucky synths, cool BPM patches galore. MegaMagic PADS – My best seller by far now with Unify Patches. 28 Unique Pads that have 6 samples across the keyboard in both Pad (slow attack) and Synth (fast attack) sample maps. Again – you MUST OWN Omnisphere 2, the VST (VST2) version MUST be known to Unify and this library MUST be installed IN Omnisphere 2 for these patches to work. ESC Personal Flavours for Omnisphere – 256 Patches, 50 Multis and 45 NEW samples are in this super diverse library for Omnisphere 2.5! Created by 15 world-class programmers (some of them sell patch libraries on their own websites), this is a special library because the programmers made sounds that match their personal passions in sound design and patch making. Bass Box for Trilian or Omnisphere – With 161 Patches and 110 effect “Rack” presets, there is some serious BANG for the BUCK in this library in the Bass department! Repro 1 | Repro 5 Power Pack – 128 Patches of Yummy Analog Inspiration – 64 patches for Repro-1 (monophonic with an awesome step sequencer) and 64 patches for Repro-5 (8 voice polyphonic with MASSIVE Unison capabilities) in a single Power Pack. I just have the Omniverse ones and the MegaMagic Pads. Looking forward to trying those out after I do the update. FUTURE LIBRARY BONUS We’re working on an incredible library for Spitfire Audio’s BBC Discover Symphony Orchestra. This is a $50 plug-in that comes with 33 instruments (5 string sections, 5 brass, 5 woodwinds plus celeste, harp, glockenspiel, untuned orchestra percussion, timpani and more!). With the Spitfire Audio plug-in you can load 1 section per track…. however, with Unify we can load every section if we wanted into a single huge Patch! These 6 Bonus Patches show just the tip of the iceberg of what we’re working on for this library. With MIDIBox playing MIDI Files we’re going to present sounds you can interact with that will have your head spinning! 3. Those of you who are on VI:Control know that I have been whining about how bad the interface on Loot Audio is. So much harder for the likes of Larry and me to find deals. Well Glyn from LA has come through with an excellent new page. Check it out! https://www.lootaudio.com/current-deals/kontakt-instruments
  4. I'm going to post now and then on the TTF thread with what I think are the best deals. I just did SONiVOX Singles. I've considered doing a section on my post of Tiger's Favorite Deals, but my thinking is that it would disappoint everybody I left out. With great power comes great responsibility, right? I would rather explain exactly why I'm recommending something. And it would always be something I paid for myself. Also what's a good deal for me is a "so what?" for somebody else. What makes this forum great is that it has a community that discusses everything. It's not just a list of deals.
  5. Toontrack does more drum sets and MIDI in two weeks than XLN does in two years. But I am happy with the Addictive Drums I already own and there are lots of places to get MIDI, like Ugritone, where you can get 20% off with the Code TIGER. (please note: affiliate link) Full disclosure: I am not just a shill for Ugritone. In fact I purchased one of their collections just the other day. For a dollar.
  6. A long time ago Mike Greene did a sale where he raised the prices at Realitone. I think the pitch was "act now or miss out on these high prices!" Or something. Maybe he just threatened? I don't remember the details but he is a funny guy. Seriously though, aside from the all-month stuff, most of the big BF Friday sales won't start until next week. A good chance that NI will start then. And then they all happen on the week when it actually is Black Friday.
  7. Wow! aave up to 67% (as per King Larry) at UGRITONE Use code TIGER and get 20% off! 😄 (This is an affiliate link if the name of the code didn't tip you off)
  8. They are now selling bundles of ADpaks and MIDIpaks. Did they ever do that before? 10 MIDIpaks for $65. I think I would have taken that deal long ago. Even on sale, that's $100.
  9. There is a great post on VI:Control that collects all the BF freebies: https://vi-control.net/community/threads/19-list-of-freebies-to-grab-during-black-friday-cyber-monday-christmas-new-year-promotions-2020-edition.100774/
  10. Get it now for 49 euros Normally 128 euros. https://vstbuzz.com/deals/62-off-discovery-pro-7-by-discodsp/?ref=93 Affiliate Link The Ultimate Virtual Analog Synthesizer Emulation + Sampler! “Discovery Pro 7.0” achieves even higher quality and features than its smaller cousin Discovery whilst retaining all previous functionalities. 11. Wow, imagine that. It's nice that they are helping her make a few $$ off of this. It would be nice if other developers did the same.
  12. As some of you may know, for the last three years I've done Black Friday sales posts on VI: Control. These posts organize all the sales alphabetically in categories like Virtual Instruments, Synths, Effects, and so on. The 2020 version is here: https://vi-control.net/community/threads/tiger-the-frogs-alphabetical-list-of-november-2020-sales.100595/ This is not in competition with King Larry at all. If you want to find out about the latest thing, you must come here. I don't list everything you can find here and I sure as hell don't do it as lightning fast as King Larry does. I have no idea how that man does it. It's just that when this BF thing took off in year's past I found it very hard to keep everything straight. So I created a spreadsheet and categorized the deals of the stuff I was interested in and put it them alphabetical order. Eventually I decided in 2018 that if I was doing it anyway I might as well share it and include the stuff I wasn't interested in. I included much more in 2019 and I hope to include even more this year. I collect info from this forum, but also from places like Rekkerd, KVR, on stores, and many other places. I constantly get messages from the VI:Control members. As I'm sure Larry can tell you, it's insane during that last week in November. Another thing about these posts is that they are still up all year round. So if you want to know what the BF deal was for a particular company was last year, you can always check it. 2019 https://vi-control.net/community/threads/tiger-the-frogs-alphabetical-list-of-november-2019-sales.86694/#post-4455857 2018 https://vi-control.net/community/threads/november-2018-sales-alphabetical-list.76877/#post-4307690 For the first time, this year there are some affiliate links in my Tiger the Frog post. I make that clear at the beginning. FYI, 90% of the music companies and stores do not offer affiliate programs. Some store like PluginFox do, but I never send anybody there because I don't shop there myself. Just to give you an idea of how the affiliate marketing biz works, I have had the Tiger the Frog post up for about a week now and so far have earned less than $10. But I am hopeful.... I earned about $40 from the links I put up here. If I am lucky I will pay for that impulse buy of those three Virharmonic vocal libraries... 🙁
  13. Yes, I'm doing it. I will do a post now to alert everybody.
  14. Hi Larry, I don't see the discount on this link. It's all the libraries and has Hangar for $179. Maybe it's coming later?
  15. T7 Touch 1 TB is now 189.99 Why are affiliate marketing links okay in this post and many others? When I used them a few times there was a whole post done where people got together to discuss what a jerk I am. 🤬 It took a long time after that for me to start to feel welcome on this forum again. The links cost nothing to anybody, but they gave me a few dollar during a time when I wasn't working. @cclarry What are the rules for this forum? Larry, you are the one doing the heavy lifting to get people to come here. IMHO if anybody should get commissions it should be you. But if affiliate commissions are allowed, then maybe there should be a policy, like labeling them as affiliate links or displaying the entire links. What do people think?
  16. Maybe that code will still work on something from them on BF that costs more than $1.
  17. I looked at this but didn't buy. Soon after I got an email from Ugritone offering me 25% off at checkout. 😮 I would give you this code but saving a quarter? Even for us, that's extreme. We love bargains, but we're not chasing pennies on the sidewalk. I hope.
  18. I downloaded them all and had a quick play through. My first impression is that I'm not impressed. I wish I hadn't rushed into this. I should have stopped and done more research. IMO the vocals don't work at all without a lot of reverb on them. When you take the reverb off they don't sound so great. Honestly they sound too washy with all that reverb. When I have time I will explore the mics and presets more. Maybe I will like them more later. But the raw samples don't sound good to my ears so I don't know what I'll be able to do. When you compare this to the immediate first impression you get from Genesis or Solo Opera or Jaeger or 8dio's The New Sopranos, or the terrific Calypso by Auddict that was just on sale, they don't stand up for me. The wordbuilder is cool, though. Much more developed than most. But first I have to believe in the vocals enough to want to take the time earn to use it. 🤔
  19. Also, they really got me with that "Going Out of Business" thing. It's like they have a bunch of boxes in their store room and after they are gone--no more choirs for us. 🙁
  20. I haven't posted in a while, but this is a crazy good deal. Get all three Virharmonic Choirs for €99 - https://www.virharmonic.com/home They seem to be ending the series. They are selling out all of their UVI licenses. While supplies last. Very rarely discounted, and when they are it's not for much. VOICES OF PRAGUE (€299) SOLOISTS OF PRAGUE (€149) CZECH BOY'S CHOIR (€299) So yeah, this is really a €747 deal, unlike so many where the list price is just nonsense. I think all of these have elaborate voice-builders. From what I've been able to gather, they sound really good, but aren't as easy to use as some other libraries. But a vocal library lover like me will have trouble resisting these at this price. If I do, I will own everything Virharmonic makes. 😃
  21. I played this for a few hours last night and it is incredible. There are seriously Omnisphere-worthy sounds in this thing and I don’t throw those words around. I spend a ton of time on Omni and know SA2 pretty well too. This has tons of amazing new sounds, the kind you load and want to keep playing and playing It’s a big advance over version 2 There is also a lot of overlap with UVI libraries like their digital modules. It’s not just pads, leads, arps, etc. —there are some very good digital keys in there too. Fun sampled sounds from the old days. I was playing a lot of lush choirs and vox.
  22. Definitely check. Otherwise it is $129 to get the 2021 version, which always has a lot of new RealTracks. I have seen this a lot with PGMusic on social media. Many special sales for the previous year's version in the fall. I have never seen any BF offers on BIAB, but I suppose it is possible. But their new version is out around the same time or maybe a week or so later.
