  1. I don't care about any of the fires and muzzle flashes, but I am very excited about the transitions and backgrounds and overlays from CreatorVault. This is seriously a great deal for stuff of this nature. Anybody who watches my videos knows I love stupid transitions and effects. (I have transitions where the screen wipes with donuts--waiting for the right use for that). The ones that are listed as "pack" have everything you see in the demo videos. The ones with numbers are just a few samples. If you click the links you can see which ones they are. There are a lot of things on Creator Vault I would have liked to have seen included, but I guess they can't give away everything. There are free samples on the Creator Vault site HERE. I'm going to check them out before I buy so I can make sure they work with Vegas. Most of their demos say they do, but I don't know if they all do. I have so many transitions that don't work with Vegas. I am probably going to have to learn Da Vinci Resolve at some point. But it's a hassle to edit videos and have to do effects in another program. If you spend enough time looking for this kind of stuff, you'll find lots and lots of free samples. Some very cool ones here: https://cinepacks.store/collections/free-packs
  2. I will be very upset if they change anything at all at Plugin Boutique.
  3. Seriously I own those elves, and they sing up a storm. I have them in a template with Flatulus and Strictly Barbershop. You really can't go wrong with Soundiron. 😃
  4. You can also get the loyalty upgrade price of $29 right at the ujam site: https://www.ujam.com/kandy/#reidrosefelt Warning: this might be an affiliate link to Tiger.
  5. Those elves have been around for a while.
  6. The blobs also sing Christmas carols if you click the Christmas tree on the lower right. 🎄
  7. Exactly @abacab This is the first of a series, as I allude to at the end. I will get into palettes in future videos. You don't need to make templates of sounds if you are able to jump directly to making palettes. I do believe that when you remove the endless choices you become more productive. @Christian Jones is my hero. He's got it together.
  8. Comments from John Lehmkuhl on VI:Control: Hi guys - I made a mistake at the website and ddn't shield the original product (just Unify) from being discounted for the sale I started yesterday. So 5 copies were sold at a 40% discount. I'll contact each of the people that bought it this morning because that sale does not include the CloudCity V1 library. You can buy CloudCity for 40% off or I can invoice them the price difference of what they paid for Unify to add CloudCity V1 to their account (more than 40% off.) It was my error so congrats to those of you that took advantage of this.
  9. Just to show how crazy this is . I decided I wanted to buy the 49 Pak. But there is no way on the site to buy it. Tons of info about what it is, but no way to buy it. The 49 Pak only turns up as an option when you buy or upgrade BIAB. So if you aren't immediately ready--bye bye. So what I had to do was put the BIAB upgrade in my cart again, add the 49 Pak, and then delete the BIAB upgrade. For many years I didn't really understand what ALL these Paks were about, and that's too bad. I bet they'd sell more if they laid it out in plain English on the home page. This year the 49 Pak is an especially good deal because it includes the Multistyles, which I would have bought in any case.
  10. Tiger is a true frog of the world. He can see far beyond his pond. 🐸
  11. I wrote this on VI: Control, but I'm going to put it here: Give me a list of the music software that has added as much content as John and Shane have added in a year. Not just this year. Ever. And we know they will continue to add features. Give me a list of all the software that has provided as many videos as John has provided to explain all these new features and more. Some hardly provide any, and everything comes from outside reviewers who have very little knowledge. Give me a list of all the software that has been so immediately accessible by the creators for bug fixes. I know that whenever I wrote John, he wrote right back. Give me a break. It's a wonderful piece of software. You've had the chance to use it for a year, which the people who buy today did not. That is worth something in my book. There are so many things in the world of software that are far worse than this. How many libraries that people rave about that have massive bugs in them that never get fixed? That's the kind of thing that outrages me.
  12. At least you tried Reaktor once. That's huge. FYI, Reaktor is not really a thing you need to learn how to use or want to learn how to use. Like Kontakt, it's an ecosystem for creating instruments. You don't have to make your own Kontakt instruments, just play them. Many of the instruments in Komplete are actually Reaktor instruments with nice interfaces . There are third party companies like Blinksonic that make instruments for the Reaktor Player. And there is a huge library of free Reaktor instruments from the Reaktor community. A lot of extremely cool freebies in there. I'm not suggesting that people become expert in something they don't like. But they could at least open up all the stuff in Komplete for a little while, which I'm sure most don't do. If it's in there, I say try it. At least to see what it is. If people bother to buy Arturia V, then maybe they could spend a bit of time with all the synths in that. Open them up, try the presets, see if you can figure out what makes them unique. Otherwise they just keep piling up instruments, synths, and libraries . How does that help you when you sit down to write something? I've been there, and that's what led me to the thinking behind this video. It's not about not buying. I discovered through making templates that I didn't have a B3 that I liked, so I started searching. Now I have the incredible IK one. Making templates can lead to buying. But at the same time, I know that I want to get all the UVI synths, and I know that's not rational. I won't ever be able to get through them. I'm probably better off just buying the ones I definitely want to use. I have as much trouble disciplining my spending as anybody, but using templates has made me more productive. There's no way I could write all the little cues I do for my videos without templates.
  13. Yes, that's right: multiple instances of VSTs. You can see that in the example in the video of my favorite Omnisphere pads, each on its own track. It's around 4:38.
  14. I also wouldn't go for the UltraPack Plus unless you have some specific needs for the lessons and songs. I have never had any problem with the sound of the compressed files. They sound great to me. To me the best use of money on BIAB would be to buy as many PAKs as possible, if you haven't already. I'm not sure what you mean by " Plus pack is this included in other packs?" but certainly PGMusic makes the whole deal with their PAKs very confusing. First, you get free bonus PAKS when you buy BIAB new or get an upgrade. The ones that are with 2021 will never be available again. They want to incentivize people to upgrade every year. If you don't, there will be all these styles you won't have. Aside from this, the upgrade price is the same if you sit out a few years. Then they have the 10 Xtra Styles Paks, https://www.pgmusic.com/xtrastyles.php?os=win They also sell a Bonus 49 PAK every year for $49 https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.bonuspaks_2021.htm This year includes their first MultiStyles Pak, which otherwise sells for $19. 😡 This is such a mess that I actually made a video on it once, but it is already out of date, because they made it more complicated this year.
  15. I sometimes buy Native Instruments products, particularly when they are on intro price, because NI makes it so easy to resell them. So, for example, when I upgrade to Komplete 13 Ultimate this summer, I'll resell my licenses for Noire and Picked Acoustic. Because I got them both at discount prices, I'll come out pretty well. NI didn't post any videos, so here are two:
  16. Komplete 36,000+ sounds Komplete Ultimate 67,000+ sounds Omnisphere 9223 presets UVI Vintage Vault 10,000+ presets Arturia V Collection 8,000+presets (without expansions) etc. etc. Have you auditioned all the presets in the virtual instruments and synths you own? If you did, do you have a photographic memory to be able to call up the best ones for your music? How do you know when you buy something new that you don't already own something you like better?
  17. I have an old copy still. I used to love this so much. I would be very interested in fooling with this.... but there's only so much time in the day.
  18. I have Cait too, and this reminded me that I had forgotten this voice. I would be interested in a good deal on Jennifer, though.
  19. Anybody know what the improvements are in this version?
  20. I liked the "world instruments." I'm sincerely a fan of world instruments that don't exist, like the ones in the AAS Masala series. For me, this is a nice freebie. I could see myself paying $5 for another expansion someday. The thing that's annoying is if you click it in most places it sends you to web pages that sell expansions.
  21. The free Zampler Sampler comes with two libraries. I wonder if this is in addition to that. https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/4-Synth/951-Zampler If you don't know it (and I didn't), it's a collaboration between PluginBoutique/Loopmasters and Beat.de. So if you like it and want more, they have a LOT of expansions to sell you. 😃 So many freebies to check out...
  22. One of the things I've discovered with cheap vocal libraries is that they sample one or two notes--and stretch the rest. I just bought Sound Provocation's "Vocolotheque," which I was really looking forward to. One note per voice. It's one way to keep the library size small. 😡 But you can't beat the price with this one. Let the buyer not really care.
  23. I wrote him and he set it up so that when I went to check out for the full bundle pre-order is now $5. No code required. So I've got the clap now and look forward to getting stomped and snapped. 😃 EDIT: it was previously "stomped and stomped." WTF?
  24. What do you mean this is that deal? I paid $14.95 for El Clapo on December 1st and now on 12/10 he announces a bundle for $19.95, with no mention of upgrade pricing. I've written him. Hopefully he will give me a code. He does have a policy of 30-day returns. So at the worst I will ask for a return on El Clapo and then buy this.
