  1. I think I know why I broke to of these and the problem is me. I think you need to adjust the size before you put them on. This is probably true of most headphones and all of you probably know this. So the CB1s are very good for the price. I am the one who recommended them first on this phone. But I needed to find a replacement, so I did a bit of research and replaced my pair with a Beyer-Dynamic DT 770 PRO, which I picked up for $139. They are so good that I am mad at myself that I never got something of this quality before. As soon as I had time, I played a dozen pieces of music I wrote. It was like I never heard them before. They sounded so much better! You could hear the separation between the various tonal ranges. I think I'm getting used to them now and they seem like normal to me. But that first night I was going crazy with how beautiful these phones were. The only negative on the phones is I definitely wanted to remix some of those pieces. I heard things I never heard before. Now I'm not so sure I'll be satisfied with my CB1s at my work computer. They are mushy compared to the DT 770 PRO. It's a comedown and I'm at this desk a lot more than I'm at my music computer. I might have to get another pair. Maybe I'll try a 990
  2. It depends on your plan Artist Plan $55.99/yr ($79.99) Studio Plan $83.99/yr ($119.99) Professional Plan $153.99/yr ($219.99
  3. @Peter - IK Multimedia The download is very slow, and I have very fast downloads normally. So unless something weird is happening with my provider, it may be on the IK end. Perhaps a lot of people are all trying to download this thing now? If it's still lagging like this by tonight, I'll try again tomorrow. EDIT: I fixed this problem.
  4. I doubt anybody is going to be able to download this monster very quickly. Ask us tomorrow. 😀
  5. I installed Syntronik 2 in the Product Manager, and then I went to my Product Page and started downloading the synths. I'm downloading everything into my backup drive. This is going to take a while, but I'm not over there watching it. It's good to have an extra copy. And then I think I should be able to delete all my Syntronik Synths. and free up that space in the computer and in the backup drive. Maybe there's a better way, @Peter - IK Multimedia ?
  6. Wow! Thank you Peter!!!! But it proves my point even more. Total Studio is the best way to go. Rushing to download this. By the way, so far I have found the upgrade to TS 3.5 to be painless, the easiest install of IK I've ever done. Amplitube, T-RackS, Mixbus, Organ, some other instruments. Just pushed a button and walked away. I still have a lot to do, of course. 😀 Any thoughts on the instruments in SampleTank 4? There are some I like in the limited version I have. Gotta find the space.
  7. This is interesting. I can't crossgrade to this because I got the last few Syntronik Synths (Deluxe or whatever) through Total Studio 3.5. I was one of the first with Syntronik as a pre-buy. I tried out the other instruments on my iPad and didn't think they were worth the upgrade. Anyway, I just upgraded from Total Studio 2 to Total Studio 3.5 for $175, including Jampoints. Less than what it would costsme to get this. And I just spent $99 to get all the Arturia synths and keyboards that came out since 2016. Is buying Total Studio the best way to buy from IK? That has always been the case since I started buying. But you have to not buy anything until the next one comes out. Can I hold out waiting for this? I have all the Arturias, Vintage Vault 3, the original Syntronik, everything AAS, plus a ton of other stuff like Pigments, Synthmaster, and 20 other synths. There's no way I'll ever be able to study all the stuff I already own in depth for as long as I live. Oh yes, I have Omnisphere too. 😀 I'm good.
  8. Larry, You should definitely check out Ko-fi. https://ko-fi.com/ It's easy to set up a page and they take no fee. When somebody buys you a coffee it goes immediately into your PayPal. And you don't have to give out your email. All the best, Reid PS Glad you're doing this!
  9. I am personally tired of the Spitfire approach to unusual string sounds. Tundra is a classic, yes, but they have become more stale and unimaginative as time goes on with their EVOs. This stuff is very specific and not as useful or as fun to play with as other libraries. I don't think they're ahead of the curve any more. While they sign up famous composers, other people just come up with interesting concepts and scripting. IMO, the exciting work in this area today is being done by Ben Osterhouse, Westwood Instruments, and HAVE audio with solo instruments and Sunset Strings and Arkhis for orchestral. The OT Time Series is also something I really love. As I'm not really an orchestral composer, I don't have any plans to buy any more traditional orchestral libraries. I'm happy with Cinematic Studio. I'll keep buying solo instruments. But I like these unusual libraries and will continue to open up my wallet for them. They are the kind of libraries where you can compose music with one or two instruments. Add a piano and you can have something really beautiful.
  10. Ha! Interesting, Pavlov. On one hand you're praising me for a video I did and on the other you're calling affiliate marketers shills--and I'm doing affiliate marketing on my Tiger the Frog BF post! 😀 I don't think you're calling me a shill--exactly. But thank you for your nice words about the videos. I don't think templates can save people from BF gas. You have to work on templates all year long, so if you don't have them now, they won't help you. For me they are mainly about composing. What's the best piano or pad for this song? And you've got them right there. With BF, there's a limited window of time. Even for me, with all my templates, I don't often head back to check them in depth. But I am interested in the Wavesfactory Tack Piano now. If I can find a moment I'm going to play with the one in Keyscape and the one in the UVI Suite. Sometimes that's all I need to talk myself out of a purchase. Here's the video:
  11. Personally I'm delighted that there's nothing in here that I want. Another $91.79 to direct towards something I do want.
  12. I looked into something like that before and my computer didn't have the power for it. Maybe this one would but it 's too late for me now. Based on my cursory exploration on the web, this card can handle much more speed than any current NVMe is capable of.
  13. It only costs an extra hundred to get it free.
  14. Marie Kondo! https://konmari.com/
  15. They always have underwhelming sales IMO. The best way to buy ISW is through the APD Shop if you have some rewards points https://audioplugin.deals/developer/impact-soundworks/ And last year APD opened up the shop prices without the need for $$
  16. Cleaning up and throwing out what you don't need is also good. Spark joy!
  17. This may be a double post, but that's okay. Screw Spitfire. The Botdog samples BF sale is ON! https://botdogsamples.com/ The Botdog Piano is only $19! I'm not joking, this really is a deal. I'm getting it. Frog guiros are still $5.
  18. I have 4 NVme drives. They do load stuff lightning fast. But once the library is loaded--it's the same as a regular SSD. That's been my experience, that's what I've read, and that's what I've heard from people on VI:Control. If you have libraries you use a lot that load super slow then it can save you a lot of annoyance. Some Audiofier libraries used to bug me. Or if you do big orchestral templates (but IMHO VEP pro is a better solution). But most of my libraries don't bother me at all. I have many of them on a regular platter. They come right up from there, so who cares? But I love having the NVMe's for certain things. Now that I can't put in any more, I'm going to be moving libraries around to get the most benefit.
  19. If you have a free PCie slot open, you can buy an inexpensive card with many SATA slots. It doesn't have to be that fast a PCIe card. (In other words, not so long, with a lot of lanes) I bought one with 4. I've used two, so I'm kicking myself because I should have gotten one with 6 or 8 ports.
  20. Thank you for figuring that out. But it's just weird as hell. Who e;se does that? I find out about my NY tax when I check out. $249 is what it costs and I think they should have left it at that. No discount for owning a single product.
  21. The price of $249 for the Korg Collection is for "First time users." Because I bought the M1, my price is $278.48.
  22. Just remember to be careful about specs on these things. How fast are they supposed to be? For example, with NVme drives, some are PCIe (which are fast) and others are SATA, which can't be faster than a regular SSD drive. The speed of a drive is contingent on the speed of the connection. Probably you know this, but I think it's worth mentioning.

    SSD Prices

A week or two ago I put down the prices on some SSDs and NVMes on my VI:Control list. Every day I update the prices. If it only changes by a dollar or two, I just adjust it. But if it changes by a reasonable amount, I cross out the old price and show the new one. For example, the Samsung 2TB 870 EVO started out at $279.99, then it was $259.99, and as of this moment it is $238.48. I say "as of this moment" because I've learned that these prices are very volatile. You can go back an hour later and the price goes back up again. Another thing that happens is that Amazon goes out of stock of a certain drive for a day or two. You can find my list here https://vi-control.net/community/threads/tiger-the-frogs-categorized-alphabetized-list-of-november-2021-sales.116454/post-4952242 Full disclosure: these are affiliate links. If you spend $100, I get $2.50. So if you're uncomfortable with that, just go to Amazon without the link. But I think these prices will help you evaluate what the good deals are, particularly when we get to Cyber Monday.

  25. It's expensive, but it's a really great product for anybody who likes to mess around with sound effects. I made a video on it once.
