  1. This is one of my favorite companies. But only one of these libraries, CHRONICLES, has been released before this sale, and it started coming out a few months ago. There are a lot of videos about that series on YouTube, but there's nothing about this beyond Reuben's very quick wrap-up below. I was not expecting this. It looks so good.... I wish I had known about this before Black Friday. My money is gone. But this happens all the time. I remember when Orchestral Tools ambushed everybody with an NI sale on the Inspires in December. I know I will buy at least one of these. But I'm hoping they will come out with more information before the sale ends in around three weeks.
  2. I picked this up as a BF gift for myself. It took a lot of work, but I've got this as my new C drive. My 500 GB Crucial was filling up. Now I'm using the 500GB for SampleTank 4 and a lot of the other IK stuff I got with TS 3.5.
  3. I didn't even know it was out. IK told me to update T-RackS, so I did. And it was there! 😄
  4. Yes, they announced it as "coming in a few days." Makes you wonder why they didn't just announce it when it was ready. But maybe this will give some people time to think about buying Symphobia. I did a video on Symphobia and one of the things I love about it is the multis. So I am very excited that there are 13 more of them in this.
  5. I don't know. But it's so different, it would seem like a new download and install might be necessary.
  6. This is a 24.3 GB library. Compressed. To my knowledge, this is the most substantial library Sonokinetic has ever given out. Definitely I think this is a way to get people to want to buy the strings, which is still available for €199.99 (reg price €399.99) for over 5 days. They are giving people time to play around with the Sordino. I think it is brilliant marketing.
  7. Whenever I get a notification that Larry reacted, first, I am SURE I double-posted. 😄
  8. This looks so good. One of the most extensive free updates I've ever seen. Very interesting new interface. It's like a whole different instrument. Coming in a few days. As I own a lot of ProjectSAM, I hope they will eventually convert everything to this. The two Swing libraries would be nice. NEW: Powered by a completely new engine NEW: Fresh and spacious design NEW: All-in-One instrument and browser NEW: Browse by instrument category or articulation NEW: 10 slot mixer to arrange and design your own Multis NEW: Adaptive Sync for all crescendos and runs NEW: Real-time effects per mixer slot NEW: Shift and trim mapping of individual articulations NEW: Customize articulation switching and dynamic control NEW: Keyswitching between mixer slots (automatically soloes selected slot) NEW: Direct CC control of Mic Distance and Panning NEW: Extensive global settings to further tweak your experience NEW: On-screen tool tips NEW: 13 new Multis IMPROVED: Smoother envelopes, filters and curves for all instruments IMPROVED: Cleaner attacks for various instruments IMPROVED: New release trails for various instruments IMPROVED: Better release trail response for slow sustains IMPROVED: Various mapping bug fixes
  9. I am still considering the Preheated one. My third choice.
  10. I bought the Pastel Punch expansion and was enjoying it so much that I bought Oscillations today. What's great about XO is you can use stuff like this as starting points to bring your own sounds into. XO is becoming something I use more and more. I really wondered if I was wasting money when I bought it because it was so different from all my other drum stuff. But it works for me. I am always looking for new sounds to use with it. I've got a pretty decent collection of foley type noises, world instruments, and other out of the way percussion. I'm probably going to pick up the AudioModern VSTBuzz deal to use in XO. I will be eagerly awaiting what expansions XLN brings out in the future. Only on sale though. $39 is ridiculous.
  11. The expansions add a lot to XO. I hope they make many more of them.
  12. CUBE is a LOT better than any of the Output synths I own. I bought the set in 2016 and got Rev, Signal, Exhale and Substance, Output is in the dark ages compared to this. Output is still making locked instruments where you can only combine two sounds. Fancy-shmantsy graphics, but that's all they are. You can't put in samples and Output never adds new samples. Will they make an Exhale 2 someday with new sounds? I think they've moved on to subscriptions. CUBE allows you to use sophisticated tech to modulate between 8 sounds. You can do it yourself with an xy pad or knobs and or use their "orbits" to move between the 8 sounds any way you want. Output used to sell sets of presets called Expansions for $35. I don't see them for sale on the site any more. I only see them with the total bundle. Lunacy Audio GIVES you sets of presets. They've done three already and will bring out more regularly. So far they have brought out only one new expansion that they sell. It's called AIR. But unlike Output it has new samples. This will continue. So CUBE is just going to get better and better in terms of content. Plus it's new and I think they are going to keep improving it. At T+S I bought CUBE and AIR in a bundle for $115. with the subscriber discount it was about $105. I told Simeon how much I loved it and he did a great video. The big problem with CUBE is it is way too expensive. But not today. But if you can't buy today, watch the videos when you can, and consider it for when the next sale comes around. It's so weird. I finally updated Arturia this year. And I west from Total Studio 2 to 3.5. But all I do is play with this and some new pianos I got. This is the kind of thing that John Lehmkuhl could go to town on because, like Omnisphere, he can bring in any sound he wants.
  13. Been playing with the new 2012 stuff all day and it's fun. The only thing is that some of the sample styles say that I'm missing real styles. I suspect this has to do with PlusPaks I didn't buy. They were sold as kind of bonus things that you didn't need. So I passed on the $49. I only bought this year and last year. It's not exactly an extra thing if later on you hear demos of BIAB styles you like and you can't use them. In my opinion, if you buy BIAB every year, there shouldn't be any styles within the program that are lacking anything. It looks like I'm wrong about that. I'm going to get in touch with PGMusic next week to see if they sell any of the Real Styles I'm missing. I'll report back. One thing that's great about BIAB is how easy it is to see which add-ons you have and which ones you don't have.
  14. This is what just happened to me. I tried to log in at Sonokinetic with the correct password I have used many times in the past. It said that I was LOCKED from the site and should change my password. Maybe this is something they do to have people change their passwords regularly. During the "reset" I tried to use my old password again from my password manager. It said that I couldn't use the old password (thus proving I was using the correct one). Okay. So I put in a different password. It said that the link to change the password had timed out. Too late. I got another password reset. I changed it to a new password. This worked fine. I got into the site! To test it I logged out, and tried to log in again. It gave me a message: you have tried to log in too many times. Reset your password. Argggh! I gave it another password. I am in my account now. I'm sure not logging out now. I'm going to leave my computer on tonight. That is a very secure system.
  15. Yes, set an an alarm on your phone or Alexa or whatever. Make sure your time matches up with whatever is here: https://www.sonokinetic.net/sale/ As @Lizzie Foster said, they will get the first one off early. If it's not the second day, it will be early on. Last year Sonokinetic basically gave the game away before the second gift. There was a thread and they were pretty obvious the night before. It really comes to how good you are about not missing out. Also, check in advance that you have no issues getting into the site. Check tonight. Carefully. They have a weird setup. When I didn't get my password in correctly the first time, they locked me out. No second try. And then I had to go through the process of changing my password while the clock was ticking. I don't know if that will happen to you but if it does, you won't want to be dealing with it when the freebie is announced.
  16. There is a new doo-wop style that is killer. I think BIAB is the best thing currently available for background vocals.
  17. There's a little bit more to deciding how often you upgrade to BIAB. Every year BIAB comes include a free 49PAK. If you don't upgrade THAT year, you can never buy that content later. Each year, they also sell a 49 PAK, as @Yan Filiatrault mentioned. This costs $49. Again, if you don't upgrade every year, to my knowledge you lose your chance to buy that year's 49PAK. I can't find anyplace on the site where they sell the old ones. Last year's 49PAK included a set of "Multi-styles," which are styles that have many sub-styles. Those styles you can still buy, but they cost $29. There are also 12 sets of Xtra Styles, which can be purchased any time. However, each Xtra Style only works with the version of BIAB that was available when it came out. That's because it uses the styles that came with that version. Each one usually sells for $49, but they are $29 during the sale. You can currently buy all 12 for $199. I bought the first 4 for $99, so that's a pretty good deal. Since then I've been paying $29 each. Xtra Styles are kind of like presets. There's new content in them, they just combine the various Real Styles to create something unique. But like presets, you can create things like that on your own. But the Xtra Styles are pre-mixed. They also have two sets of what they call XPro Styles. These are the same as Xtra Styles, but you can use them with any 2021+ edition of BIAB. They are different content from the Xtra Styles. In summary, if you want to have as many Real Styles and other BIAB special crap (like live singers) as possible, you must upgrade every year. I've missed a lot. You can learn about what is in all these BIAB add-ons HERE Try the various tabs on that page. So this year for me: Upgrade $99 XtraStyles 11 & 12 $58 49pak $49 TOTAL - $206 🥵 And I spend this kind of $$$ every year. And to be honest, I don't mind because BIAB is awesome, one of my favorite yearly purchases. I think I will take a chance that I can buy a discount package of XPro Styles later. PS. I'll tell you another weird thing. Last year I wasn't ready to buy the 49PAK when I checked out. I wanted to listen to demos and think about it. But if you don't buy right at the moment you upgrade there is no longer a way to buy it on the site. What I had to do was buy my BIAB upgrade AGAIN and this time add the 49PAK to my order. Then I removed the BIAB upgrade from my cart. 😄
  18. Just when I think I have spent all my money... BIAB drags me back in!
  19. It has been the exact same price on the Have Audio Site for some time. There are also many smaller Espresso options if you don't want all of this stuff. Plus the Nordisk is available there for €49 (€169) https://haveaudio.com/collections/black-friday-deals The sale continues until 12/5
  20. APD should be a little more careful with these deals. ReMIDI has been $19 for weeks at Plugin Boutique. Raising a price--even by 99 cents--is not my idea of a deal. 😄
  21. I just want to say that I couldn't care less what Larry's politics are. He's doing this insane hard work for all of us and at the same time Social Security is breaking his balls. I relate, and I've told him that. He's my friend and I am very glad I know him.
  22. I suppose anything can be made in any DAW, but something like Ableton has unique qualities that make it really useful for loop-oriented music. I love Ableton. On the other hand, orchestral composers rely on the articulation maps in Cubase. I suppose you could write a symphony in Ableton. Definitely you could do it, but it's not using what's really great about Ableton. And it would be much easier to do on other DAWs. There is a big part of the industry that is aimed at EZ. Toontrack and ujam and Studio One are going after that target. Needless complexity is not good, but sometimes there's no way around learning something. Because you can do more if you know more. This guy hits a bump in the road and heads hom.e There's a certain type of person who is best served by Reaper. Nothing else would be as satisfying for that person. And so on... We're all different. We all make different kinds of music in different ways. I think it's ridiculous to say that one tool is better than another. For who? At what time?
  23. Got it last year... without the bass. Very nice.
  24. Cubase has features that no other DAW has and that's why so many of the world's greatest composers use it. He can't install it and so that's it? End of story? I feel sorry for the man. His life must be so sad, with all the wonderful things he misses out on because he gives up too soon. Seriously, I think it's unfortunate for him to guide people away from Cubase because he can't install it. He is well aware that zillions of other people can do it.
