  1. https://cherryaudio.com/instruments/eight-voice Taming A Classic Beast Our most ambitious instrument to date, Cherry Audio’s Eight Voice polyphonic synthesizer meticulously emulates the immense sound of the Oberheim Eight Voice, one of the world’s rarest and most desirable vintage instruments. ITS $29 bucks .... go get it While you are there have a look at the POLYMODE Synth, MG1+, CA2600, DCO106 .. all around the same price, All CLASSIC retro synths
  2. Sorry @scook ... I made an assumption. But I wonder would it work in some way? Newer versions?
  3. @RSMcGuitar I bumped this thread of interest - If you follow this procedure you can add an external editor function to your UTILITIES menu inside CW. You could do so with Soundforge or with the very good free audio editor called AUDACITY. Once added to the UTILITIES menu you can select an audio track in your project .. go to the UTILITIES Menu, click on the new audio editor menu item and it will open that tracks audio file inside your audio editor for editing
  4. Bumping this post .. its a good one if you use an external audio editor like SOUNDFORGE or AUDACITY etc. Once added to the UTILITIES menu you can select an audio track in your project and it will open that audio file in the external audio editor for editing
  5. Because the DAW ( CW etc ) in the main is NOT an audio editor proper. PLUS you might want to use it to master a final exported mix from CW
  6. @Jim Hurley Thank you so much for this tip - "You may want to use the /NOVSTGROVEL flag when you open it to bypass VST scans" Been looking for how this is done in SF and even if it were possible
  7. Thanks @Peter - IK Multimedia .. Do I need Amplitube 4 installed if I have Amplitube 5? Does the latter pick up all my stuff from 4 anyway? Also .. do you reckon IK will ever change this thing of a time limit on downloads you purchase before you have to pay again for a download token type thing? Many dont like this out of principle, seems to be unique to IK?
  8. @Peter - IK Multimedia Once authorised on one system through auth manager and product manager does the same thing have to be done on a second system? Is it already "installed" and only have to open Amplitube 4 or 5 to see? And while I have you ... Whats with Amplitube 4 and 5? Do you need both? Does 5 pick up all thats in 4 .. owned etc? If so do you need 4 installed? Why is there an Authorization Manager AND IK Product Manager which both accept serial and registration? Do we need both? And the CUSTOM SHOP .. why that? Its crazy stuff .. is there a simple single procedure to install stuff .. even one on the way?
  9. BTW .. I just got the detail. I registered it via both auth manager and product manager .... I cannot find it anywhere. Not in Amplitube 5 either Aha .. it only appears in Amplitube 4 which I did not bother reinstalling EDIT - its finally appeared in 4 and 5 .. took a while after regging for some reason
  10. Bought it ... at that price its a no brainer, generally speaking the reviews are excellent
  11. No Im not a metal guy either .. I would be in the Alex Lifeson, Beck, Gilmore, Lizzy stable Thanks ..
  12. So @Fret Flintstone .. me being a guitar isstttt .. is it worth the punt at $39? I will jump on it if it is worth buying .. just checking as I already have lots of plugs inc Guitar Rig latest and dont want to just buy for sake of lower price only
  13. By any chance does your system have a built in intel / realtek soundcard or similar on the board? If so maybe disconnect the M-Audio, Fast Track Ultra 8R and see if the software after reboot picks up and uses that internal soundcard? This would discount the M-Audio as the issue maybe or maybe not
  14. @RummieGit Did you install it via next next defaults and accepted what it said about where it installed? If so .. try this. Uninstall it but this time go custom route to select what folder it installs to. For example I have all my audio apps installed in c:\audio apps and audio data like VSTs installed in c:\audio data\vst plugins64 If you go this route make sure you add the new folders in CW prefs, vst settings so it can find the AIR Drumsynth 500 vst. I am only proposing this because maybe it is getting installed in program files or somewhere that security issues get in the way. Its a long shot
  15. @Starship Krupa @mettelus I went the CLEAN install in the end as i always do. I was having trouble with each clone application inc Samsungs .. some sort of error on old source drive ( which only came up after hours at the end of the samsung software process 7 failed ) that would have meant doing a complete chkdsk/r .. which being a 2TB drive would have taken almost the time a clean install would have. Once i am happy with that clean install I intend formatting that old drive now in an ext usb caddy and use it for backups etc. The EVO 870 drive is a flier .. the difference is night and day. Its turned my Dell Inspiron 17" laptop ( 16GB ram ) into a system arguably faster than many new systems i set up for clients. Great investment so far TBH in all my years trying cloning etc I have NEVER had a positive no quible experience with it, always some stupid error like above poping up after hours of letting the clone happen.
  16. the amount of KONTAKT stuff these guys have for FREE or cheap is H U G E: https://gumroad.com/pasttofuturereverbs
  17. And remember those TEXT based adventure games like THE HOBBIT on C64 etc? Very simple, yet engaging, I remember spending hours on these with a buddy .. he had the C64 at the time. memories flood back
  18. Ah yes @Bapu ... happy dayz. In UNI mid 80s did all 3 - Fortran, Cobol and Basic. Those were the days
  19. OR in schools in Ireland and UK anyway: The BBC Micro
  20. First commercially available PC but used BASIC as op sys
  21. I decided to go the fresh install route. I stuck the old drive into a USB caddy and attached. The used a forgotten command in a DOS window ( via CMD, admin ) ROBOCOPY Compared to using windows / File explorer / drag drop etc to copy from USB to HD or internally, its like a rocket. So if you have a folder on USB ( eg F drive ) called cakewalk the command at c:\ dos prompt ( via CMD ) is: robocopy f:\cakewalk c:\cakewalk /E The /E copies any other sub folders also inside the cakewalk folder The only other thing is if a folder name is more than one word then surround both source and dest links with inverted commas: robocopy "f:\cakewalk files" "c:\cakewalk files" /E
  22. @jesse g Was only alerting people in case they ( like me ) unwittingly went and buy expansions they already have is all .. reason for my post, not saying you have too many expansions
  23. BTW .. just tried the Samsung Clone tool from existing drive to new Samsung SSD attached to USB3 port. 4 hours, got to 99% then failed unknown reason, very helpful. Now trying Macrium FREE. But i wonder is is better to just clean install rather than clone in the longrun?
  24. If you have Komplete 13 Standard you have 24 expansions with it including many in the list above: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/bundles/komplete-13/included-products/#c951285
