Say HELLO!! to Modern Cinema - Renegade for Unify! Create by PlugInGuru family member Bob Dedes (he's written demo songs for libraries I've released starting in 2005 with MegaMagic: Dreams!) Bob has created a Power Packed High Energy 82 Patch + Sample library that is actually 6 different libraries in one:

1 - Cinematic Percussion - huge impacts, toms, hand claps, body slams and more!

2 - Sound Design - Sub and Organic Hits, sweeps, swooshes - awesome for all genres of music production.

3 & 4 - Ear Candy - Stings, vocal chops, stabs, brass hits PLUS lots of other cool elements to add to a track.

5 - Music Instruments - Synth & Electric Bass, Insane and fun to play Electric Guitars, Synths and Vocals.

NOTE: ALL of the Hits, Percussion Instruments and Instruments contain between 4 - 8 round robin samples for incredible depth and realism. 1 Guitar alone has 5 velocity layers of 8 round robin samples - over 1,600 samples for 1 the IBZ Cruncher (HI MEM) Patch! This 1 guitar has 5-velocity layers and 8 samples per note with every note sampled for 3 1/2 octaves! They sound so good!

    6) A 650MB WAV Library of all the above PLUS additional hits, fx as well as percussion and guitar loops - PLUS all 12 demo songs Bob wrote are available as separated tracks for you to be able to study what he did. Get ideas of ways to spice up your productions from these, then fire up Unify, load up the sounds he used and write that hit track! This BONUS should be a separate purchase but we're including it because it is SO HELPFUL for everybody!

Over 8,000 Samples, 12GB in size, this is a library like NOTHING
    we've ever released before!

Retail is $89 but intro offer is $69

There's also a walkthrough video of it here...

    Saturday Livestream Agenda:

We will definitely play with Modern Cinema - Renegade but maybe more exciting is we will interview Bob Dedes about the building of this library! There is also a new synth by Cherry Audio. We will play with that too!
Join us Saturday at 12pm PDT

    • The source code is now available on Github: github.com/trackbout/ripchord
    • A preset tagging system with user defined tags to organize presets.
    • Automatic recall of the last resize when a new instance is opened.
    • The max resize was increased from 150% to 200%.
    • Various minor improvements.

  3. Does anyone know what has happened to Gothic Instruments and support for these Dronar modules?

Shortly before Time and Space went under I received an update to Dronar Guitarscapes from T&S but there are some issues with the update, and I cannot find any Gothic Instruments website.

I keep hearing this about Omnisphere. For me it would be more than just buying the software. I would need to expand my system hard drive capacity. It is a little salty as @Doug Rintoul alludes to, but then it isn't a small program and it isn't lacking in what it is capable of.

At some point I'll be there. I have trouble keeping the mail cleared off my kitchen table. If I had Omnisphere..............let's just say I'm thankful for metadata and organized libraries. I see myself searching "electric pianos" and 500 of them pop up. I'll need to pop the B vitamins and caffeine to get through the searches. It's always been a problem for me though. I let all the presets in my hardware keyboards intimidate me.

I think the base install of Omnisphere is around 64Gb. Mine is currently 70Gb but that's with a few add-on libraries that included sample content.

I just did a search in Omnisphere for "electric piano" with just the factory library selected.  With All categories selected this came back with 27 results and with Keyboards category selected there were 11 results.  Not that many, but that's probably because they want you to buy Keyscape for EP and other keyboard sounds.
Omnisphere also has the Sound Match feature where it will search for similar sounding presets to the current selection which is a handy way to find sounds.

One thing I have heard about Omnisphere...some people say that they would have saved a lot of money if they had just bought Omnisphere first because they would have needed little else. I am not sure how true that is.

That's probably true but I did it the wrong way around; buying Omnisphere after already buying most of the other major synths. That's GAS for you I guess :)
Then again I do like to have choices.

    10 hours ago, Fleer said:

TBH I particularly appreciate Omnisphere in its connection to Keyscape as I’m primarily a keyboard enthusiast. Furthermore, you need Omni if you want to fully enjoy devs like The Unfinished, Luftrum or Hollo Sound, to name but a few. And PlugInGuru of course.

That's a good point Fleer. Some day I would like to add Keyscape and Trillion and I'll be intrigued to see what is added to Omnisphere 3 whenever that appears.

Omnisphere was certainly a considered purchase for me but was well worth it (and I got it cheaper than usual in a sale).  As well as the PluginGuru Omnisphere libraries which are excellent and have now all been Unified, there are also a load of top quality 3rd party Omnisphere libraries.

Having said that, John has now largely moved away from making new Omnisphere libraries, partly because he was fed up seeing PG Omnisphere libraries for sale on eBay for peanuts. His Unify libraries are protected via serial number and he is gradually building up a good set of these with many more planned. They have the advantage (if you don't own Omnisphere) of only requiring Unify to run. Uni Lo-Fi is one such paid library and one of my favourites of late.  MegaMagic Keys is another recent one for Unify which is worth checking out.

As others have said, check out his videos for specific products to see if they float your boat.

Incidentally, if you don't already have them you can still get the free (or optional donation) UniScream 2020 and 2021 libraries for Unify.
These don't appear under products on their website but the direct links are here...

  6. Quote from PG email...

We are doing something special this weekend - we are putting our best foot forward to try to send some aid to our brothers and sisters who desperately need assistance in Ukraine. EVERYTHING at the site is 10% OFF (including Unify!) and a NEW LIBRARY just for this effort is now available. 100% of the sales of the library and 100% of the sale at my website between now and midnight on Sunday night will be sent to the Ukrainian Red Cross (50%) and Vostok.sos (50%).

    https://www.pluginguru.com/products/united-for-ukraine-unify-100-fundraiser-library/

My heart goes out to those struggling in war torn cities that were completely normal 3 weeks ago - I can't even imagine how difficult it must be in freezing temperatures with no electricity, food or in many cases even solid walls in their homes. I have relationships with a number of truly amazing people in Ukraine that have sent me recordings they've made on their phones in the dark as bombs are going off all around them - I can fathom that reality, but that is what they are facing.

Please help if you can. The UNITED Library has 1GB of fresh new content including a bunch of Razor Samples I was saving for another library, a bunch of TB style basses, GuruNation™ members Kendall W Cochran III and Allen Somerlot contributed some IN-Freaking-Credible Recycle Drum Loops, I made a new NEVER SURRENDER Drum kit and the library wraps up with new synth Pluck and INSANELY GREAT Synth Patches from Razor I sampled.

You can buy UNITED V1 at 1 of 4 prices: $30, $60, $125 or $250. Please pay whatever you are comfortable with - this library comes without a license number and installs the same as all our other libraries.

ALSO: This library is a COMMUNITY PROGRAMING EVENT. So that means over the coming weeks, you can make patches and send them to us and we'll add them to a COMMUNITY BONUS Library for UNITED V1. More details to come.

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Live stream link (from Saturday 12pm PDT).

UPDATE: John added my Unified Generate factory library and Doug's Unified Spire factory library to the Unify web page. It wasn't mentioned in the email but John covered them in the livestream.

You’ll love this one. I was part of its beta team. It’s a beast alright.

Looks killer Fleer! I own the other ADPTR plugins and with my monthly voucher ($25) that brings it down to $75 plus VAT.

So I will wait until it's closer to $29 :)

Mine is $49 so better off getting the bundle if anything. But I wonder when FX3 will be released... I might consider jumping in then.

Same for me (49 EUR or approx. 40 GBP).

It does sound brilliant and it's easy to get the demo via Arturia Software Centre --> Explore Products.

    That would’ve been nice.
Now they’re asking me $160 for SplitEQ and the upgrade from 2016 Stereo Room to SP2016.

Similar price for me Fleer; my upgrade from Anthology XI and SP2016 is $159.80. I am missing quite a few plugins from H9 though.

So it might be worth it for SplitEQ and the H9 plugins I am missing (Crushstation, Crystals, Micropitch, Rotary Mod, ShimmerVerb, Spring, Tricerachorus and Undulator).

That's around $18 per plugin which is pretty good value, but SplitEQ is the only one I really want as I have the rest covered by other plugins.

Sadly, I do not own VC8. Too spendy for my blood. I do own Lab V. Is the size of the Lab V library so large because of the sheer number of patches or are the patch files themselves large?

When Unify saves patches from a plugin it requests a "blob" of data from the plugin for each patch and that is what gets saved. It varies enormously from plugin to plugin, for example the Unified Hive 2 factory library (2421 patches) is only around 20Mb but NI Picked Acoustic (193 patterns) is 160Mb.

Not sure how I missed the unify-share thread. I think I glanced at it and thought it was for posting original Unify patches, not Unified libraries. I will do a search before I go ahead and Unify anything else. I will also send John Unified Diversion because I don't think anyone has attempted that one.

The PG forum software is not the best so it's easy to miss new posts. I'm sure John will be happy to receive Unified Diversion.

Interestingly enough, I also Unified Thorn yesterday, before I saw that it was had been done by you. My time was not wasted though because I have a number of non-factory Thorn libraries that I can now use my script on. I also did Diversion yesterday but have not submitted it yet. I wanted to see what John thought of the Spire.

Is there a place where we can tell what work is being done and what needs to be done? I looked here https://forums.pluginguru.com/unify-patchbook/ but did not see much about recent in progress work.

I Unified Thorn months ago, but sat on it due to it being unclear whether the extra banks (one by DS and two by Rob Lee) that are included when purchased from PA could be considered as "factory" patches. Then someone on the PG forum posted this week that they were manually Unifying it. So I let the person know that I had already Unified it and sent it to John to see if he wanted to release it. I circumvented the potential issue by splitting it into two parts; the main factory presets and the 3 extra banks. So John has shared the main factory patches but is asking PA whether they are OK with the Unified extra banks also being shared. It would be unusual for non-factory patches to be allowed.

There are two main threads on the PG Forums where people talk about Unifying stuff. One is the one you mention and the other is https://forums.pluginguru.com/unify-share/  .  However, you will notice that there are a few stickies at the top of the first thread which make it easy to miss new posts that occur below them.  It's also worth checking through all 8 pages of those threads for any that may already have been Unified or doing a search if you are planning to Unify a new one.

One example you will find there is the V Collection synths which someone started doing a while back but never completed them. I have worked my way through the ones he did (there were some issues with them which I have fixed) and I was planning to do the rest. If you own VC8 maybe we could collaborate to split the task or you could carry on from where he/I left off? The ones that are done are ARP 2600, B-3, Buchla Easel, Clavinet, CMI and CS-80. I also started doing Analog Lab V, but abandoned it at around 3,500 patches when I noticed that it was over 1Gb and the estimated final thing would be over 2Gb! I kept what I had done though in case anyone really wants it finished. :)

No-No's for Unifying for now are Omnisphere and Vital factory libraries. I have Unified the latter for my own use but the dev doesn't want Unified Vital patches to be shared so we have to respect his wishes.

I grabbed the CA Quadra version! Awesome! :)

This synth is ideal for keyboard splits and layers in one plugin!

FYI, this synth comes in two versions for the host, a single audio output plugin, and a multi-audio output plugin. The single output version has individual sliders in the on-board mixer section where you can adjust the audio levels for each synth module before it gets to the master stereo output > Bass, Strings, Poly Synth, and Lead Synth.

The multi version offers the stereo output with all 4 channels mixed, and in addition has a dry stereo out for each of the 4 synth modules.

Obviously, the single output Quadra version is the one used in Unify today. But hopefully some day Unify will offer multiple outputs so there will be some opportunity for outboard mixing using Unify with instruments like this.

It's a funny thing @abacab but I probably had more fun using Unify's fuzzy dice with CA Quadra than any of the others I Unified this week and it is among the cheapest.

You are right to say that it is ideal for keyboard splits and layers in one plugin. The only thing missing is drums, but anyone here probably has plenty of those to choose from not to mention some that come with Unify.

  14. A reminder that UniLofi is still on sale until 1st March and it has now been updated with a further 75 SFX patches for a total of 325 patches. It's quickly become one of my favourites and recommended if Lofi is your thang.

I have Unified another four factory libraries this week (Tone2 Icarus 2, Nemesis 2, CA Quadra and PA Thorn). These along with GForce OB-2 v2 and Decent Sampler Unified libraries are available from the middle of this page --> https://www.pluginguru.com/products/unify-standard/

Catch up with all the latest news from PG in tonight's livestream from 12pm PDT...

Congrats @Doug Rintoul; it looks like your Unified Spire factory library is coming next week 👍🏻

With the Synchron Player, it is more about figuring out what Linked Parameters to assign to the Macro Knobs. When I took a look at all of the parameters that Synchron was exposing it blew my mind. They were including every parameter for around 19 different mixes, I guess to cover surround applications, with each one of the mixes all of the effects and sends parameters were exposed, so it took me by surprise but I am working through it ;^)

My bad, I misunderstood what you were saying in the video Simeon. I agree that the number of parameters displayed can be a bit disconcerting! I think it probably needs a way to filter what's displayed; maybe something that's already on Shane's big list of possible changes. I will be interested to see what you come up with on Synchron Player.

I am not sure where things stand as far as Unifying Kontakt libraries as there was some major issues with the recent Kontakt update which caused problems finding sample content, I am keeping my eyes peeled for more info concerning that one.

First of all I should say that I am not keen on symbolic links so I avoid using them where possible. For Kontakt libraries, I have taken to only Unifying Kontakt Player libraries to share (the ones with a graphic on the left hand side that work in the free Kontakt Player). If it's for your own use then non-Player libraries will also work fine.

NI made some changes to Kontakt 6 last year, where you can add a path to the location of your non-Player libraries. Despite this, it is still possible to create a Unified non-Player library which doesn't work on someone else's machine.  I expand on it a bit more in this thread if you haven't already seen it --> https://forums.pluginguru.com/unify-patchbook/unified-pluginguru-kontakt-megamagic-pads/

With today's latest Originals Abe Laboriel Drums, i will be interested in seeing how I can remap the notes so that they might be used with the included drum grooves inside of Unify. I will work on it as soon as it lands here.

I look forward to seeing your results 👍🏻

I would also LOVE to learn more about how to use Auto Hot Key, it sounds like a very helpful tool when doing these sorts of repetitive tasks.

It's definitely worth looking into Simeon, especially for libraries with more than, say, 50 presets. It can seem a little daunting at first, and it probably helps to have some coding experience or appreciation of the concepts, but persevere and you will reap the benefits. Give me a shout if you need any more help with it. There are also certain things which are easier and faster to do using Shane's batch tools.

I would like to see Unification of more EastWest (Choirs, Backing Vocals, Ghostwriter, Fab Four, Gypsy) and Spitfire (Albion ONE, Neo, Tundra).
    One can dream, right?

I would have Unified them Fleer, if I owned them :) I like a lot of their libraries but I stopped buying them when I realised that I couldn't resell them.
I guess Composer Cloud might be a way of obtaining them to Unify, but we are talking about some pretty huge libraries so not sure I have the disk space.

Simeon's been Unifying a lot of Spitfire libraries, so maybe EastWest could be his next venture?  Then again I watched one of his videos on VSL BB recently, and I think he said that Unifying this type of library could be tricky as the player is so much a part of how it operates. Maybe that's also true of Opus or Play IDK?

Thanks to ZincT's help, today I was able to Unify Spire's factory presets. It was kind of fun to see AHK clicking all those buttons and typing all that text, faster than I could ever dream of doing. I did it on a 1080 monitor but it was not really that difficult to modify the script ZincT shared with me to work in my environment.

Pleased you got it working Doug, and glad to help.

I remember the first library I Unified (RA Synferno) - 350 patches Unified manually. What a chore and took a few days off and on! I thought "there must be a better way".

Once I got AutoHotkey up and running it became a bit addictive; that's how I ended up Unifying so many libraries.
I hate to think how long it would have taken to manually Unify Hive (2,451 factory patches) or UVI Synth Anthology 3 (3,554 factory patches).
There are quite a few that are over 1000 factory patches.
