"SampleTank 4's high-quality sounds and features aimed at the live context make for a great combination. If you need a broad palette of high-quality sounds within a single, easy-to-use package, it is undoubtedly a serious contender. It brings some significant improvements in features and sounds. As an easy-to-use, all-in-one sonic workhorse it remains a great choice for both studio and live use."

Previous releases (for example Sampletank 3) the updates and sound add ons were added to the Resources download section rather than the sounds download section, so they would be available to everyone.

Thanks for your interest here, I've passed along your comment/feedback to the team to see what could be done.

Looks good, passed all my initial tests.  👍

I was kind of surprised I can't download the sound updates anymore though.  If I had missed that "window" I'd be shafted about getting the new guitar/etc.  Used to be the updates would be available for longer (always available?) and just the core would time out and require paying to re-download.

Exactly, the sound updates should remain available. Where’s UIKG when you need him?

What I meant is you can only insert the T-Racks version in T-Racks standalone. You can use both versions inside a DAW.

I think you guys have gotten things cleared up, but just in case...  To clarify, both T-RackS and AmpliTube versions of the Leslie collections work great in Stand-alone and also as plug-in inside your DAW. The Leslie collection in T-RackS is available as a single module or in the T-RackS 5 Suite when using your DAW and the T-RackS 5 Stand-alone software will also allow you to load the Leslie collection, outside of your DAW.

With the Custom Shop you can buy a collection but not try one.
If you want to try something you have to go into components - for example click on Amp, then click on item in menu that pops up then drill down through pages of items that may or may not belong to the collection you're interested in.
I find the Custom Shop great for checking out T-Racks items but for anything else a frustrating massively time consuming mess.

When the Axe i/O arrives I'm going to evaluate it and the software it comes with.  If I don't feel that on its own that the package is worth the over $400 that it's costing me - I'm returning it.

Thanks for your feedback. While we do like the options for users to try out any piece of gear, at anytime, as this does allow for the most customization and some users may want to say TRY just a specific cab without starting the trial on associated the amp just yet. I will be sure to pass along your comments to the team as a user suggestion to see what can be done in the future.

As for the included gear, check out the full list of software here. This will help you check everything out before you receive the unit and anticipate your different options. AXE I/O gets you some great stuff. If you have any trouble getting started, don't forget to reach out to support. They are more than happy to help in anyway they can.

  6. Hi All,

We just wanted to chime in here with some information for anyone experiencing issues or looking into MODO DRUM.

First off, we've reported this to our development team to see if there is anything we can do from our end. Stay tuned for future updates in your User Area -> My Products section of your IK Multimedia account.

Now, I do want to point out that this crash seems to only occur to some users and only with the VST3 instance inside of Cakewalk -Bandlab. Other DAWs are not experiencing this issue. Any users who are experiencing issues related to their VST3 instance can switch to the VST2 instance to avoid any issues in the meantime.

To enable VST2 plug-ins in Cakewalk - Bandlab, use the Preferences to disable the setting "Hide related VST2 Plug-ins" as well as "Replace if Possible on Project Load". These settings are found under the File -> VST Settings -> VST 3 Migration.  Next, you may need to add in your VST2 plug-in folder. Here is a screen shot of my window.

    image.png.9766325da0572ecf4b8b4d7b79c9f1ef.png

Note* As Simeon has pointed out elsewhere, you can also simply delete the VST3 plug-in instance or move it from it's current location. The default path for Windows users will be the Program Files\Common Files\VST3 folder.

    Hope this helps!

Hi @Peter - IK Multimedia we've received a few crash dump files from users that confirm that the crash site is within the Modo Drum plugin.
If you don't have a dump file contact me and I can send it to your developers. The problem also occurs in all prior versions of SONAR and is not specific to CbB.

Hey @Noel Borthwick! Thanks for the information and chiming in. We appreciate the offer for help looking into this! I'll make sure the team sees this thread.

While this does not seem to affect all users, we have been able to pass this information, as well as some crash logs to the team. They are looking into this behavior as we speak. For those users experiencing issues, please feel free to use the VST2 instance in the meantime to avoid any possible issues.

@Ryan IK Multimedia, so I am really loving things so far, MODO Drum really sounds amazing!
I did have a question however  on Brush playing styles as I did not see this as an option. That would really be interesting to have this especially for the Jazzy Kits. btw I hope you were able to get me earlier messages. I tried to send an email but it mentioned the address was invalid.

    Thanks again!

We've definitely seen some Brush suggestions from users. This is not an option at this time, but we have passed this along to the team.

Feel free to post any new ideas in the Official Wish List for MODO DRUM. I believe brushes were posted, but any new ideas are welcome!

I did get your messages and I was just about to reply.  Keep an eye out on your inbox 😄

I thought that the installation was supposed to take up around 20GB of disk space once installed.
Mine looks like it's only consuming around 11GB - is this right?  Appears to be all there...

Yes, this is correct. You're good to go!

The download and the installation combined will take about 20GB of space, which is why we suggest having some extra room.

  12. Hey Guys,

The SampleTank 4.0.6 update is up for those of you who haven't updated.  It is suggested all users update their sound content and software to use the latest version. This includes the following changes.

Download your files from your My Products section of your User Area.

    What’s new in SampleTank v4.06*

    • Added new Pedal Steel Guitar Instrument (available for MAX and Standard only)
    • Fixed missing Record option in Strummer
    • Fixed SampleTank 3 instruments recalling as corrupt files
    • Fixed an issue with overlapping MIDI notes not always triggering in a DAW
    • Fixed SampleTank 4 drums not loading completely on macOS 10.10.5
    • Transpose in Strummer resets note properly now
    • A Sound Library Update 1.5 is available. This adds a new set of String instruments with key-switchable articulations (MAX only) and improves loading times of Guitar instruments.

@Dave Schreier @Matthew Sorrels & @Promidi I see a couple comments on some 'clicks' added from the update. Please reach out to support for any of these issues, they can take a look into what you're experiencing.

Please do note the SampleTank 4.0.6 update and Sound Content Updater1.5  should not have affected any SampleTank 3 sounds. If you noticed, the sound content updater download's content only included SampleTank 4 sound files (Instruments/Samples/Multis). There were no SampleTank 3 sounds changed with this update.

If you can pass some specifics to the team, they can look into each of your issues. Unfortunately, posting here may not get you the best resolution. While we do look at forums to see what we can do help our user base outside of traditional means, this is in no way a technical support forum.

As always, feel free to PM me your ticket number, I will make sure your ticket is flagged and taken care of in a speedy manner.

@Dave Schreier make sure to shoot me a PM with your ticket number when you can.

  13. Hey Marc,

Let's see how I can answer these for you

    1) MODO DRUM is designed to use it's own grooves at this time. Third party MIDI files can be played back through your DAW, but importing third party grooves is not an option currently.

    2) While I know the answer is yes, I would suggest staying tuned to the IK news letter for future developments on these.

    https://www.ikmultimedia.com/newsletter/

    3) There are
3 cymbal sets (IK, Elegance and Vintage) that include one ride cymbal each. I've passed your comment to the team to be addressed.

    4) The 8 convolution based reverb options (Rooms) will have control for individual element levels and overall level control. There will be no individual parameter control. Check out the Mixer/FX video above for some insight on how everything works. The MODO DRUM product page also has some great video content: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/mododrum/index.php?p=media

    5) There will be an option to save user presets for the different offered FX, but n
    o presets will be included.

While I'm still upset you haven't fixed the problem with the Steel Drums crashing Sampletank (going on 1.5 years now) I'm nothing if not willing to keep doing the same thing hoping for a different outcome.  So I've submitted the repeating note bug, with Cubase and Reaper projects and a MIDI file that reproduces it.

Anyone that wants to try this can download it here

    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kQYEnFkCmbbDJPC3yTJGjD3wSbdgtIOX

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the Steel Drum. While I do recall an issue related to this instrument in an older version of SampleTank 3, this should be resolved in SampleTank 4. If you have a ticket in regards to your Steel Drum issue, I would be more than happy to take a look and see how I could escalate it. Shoot me a PM with your Ticket #.

If you need to open a new ticket, feel free to do so at the link below.

  15. Hey Guys,

We thought we'd chime in here and address some of the concerns pointed out here.

For those of you with issues loading newly saved SampleTank 3 instruments in SampleTank 4.0.5, we are working on a fix as we speak. Feel free to roll back to version 4.0.4 using your IK account's My Products section, or keep an eye out for the next update here as well. This update should be coming soon. Keep in mind this issue does not affect SampleTank 4 instruments or existing sessions, but only older SampleTank 3 sounds being saved again in 4.0.5.

For anyone with this reported "MIDI repeating issue", I would urge you to reach out to support to give them all of your information. While I do see a posted issue in regards to VERY short MIDI Note On messages being skipped over in some DAWs. This was only for notes below 1/64 values, and only for some DAW users so many of you will never see this behavior.

    https://www.ikmultimedia.com/contact-support/

Just a note to all. Any issues with our products should be reported to support for the best action. Once a support ticket is open, feel free to let me know in a PM.

There is no channel 0. Only 1-16. Thanks for the response. Just makes no sense that all controllers other than the actual keys transmit on one channel. I do not see an assignment for just the keys.

Back to my workaround, I guess,

Technically there are only 16 MIDI channels, correct. I was referring to the fact that some companies I've personally used start the count at 0 which leads to the number going to 15. Sorry for any confusion with my reply.

Checking your product's user manual I do see the option to assign MIDI channels to your different controls.  Check out page 6 and on  or Section 4 "Introduction to programming options".

    4. Introduction to Programming Options

Each of the 60 controllers on the Keystation Pro 88 can send MIDI CC, RPN/NRPN, GM1 and 2 or SysEx messages. The controllers can also be assigned to individual MIDIchannels. MIDI CC (continuous controller) numbers are part of the standard MIDIspecification and typically used to control the real-time changes of parameters in MIDImusical equipment.

    Hope this helps!

PS. If you still need any extra assistance, as mentioned, our team is more than happy to help. Feel free to reach out at the link below.

  17. @Sidney Earl Goodroe, I cannot say there is a bug or common issue with the SampleTank 3 MIDI Channels. In both stand alone and DAW use, MIDI Channels are working properly. I just double checked myself.

Make sure your keyboard's knobs, sliders, and faders do not require additional set up to change MIDI Channels. Try setting your MIDI Channel to "0" on your keyboard, some companies offer 0 - 15 as opposed to 1 - 16 for the 16 available MIDI Channels.

Please reach out to the support team if you need any extra help:

    Hey @Peter - IK Multimedia

I don't mean to hijack your post here...

When you guys were about to release AmpliTube MESA/Boogie at a greatly reduced price, there was no demo available-so I didn't buy it. Once the demo came out, the sale was over.

Do you know if there is a sale scheduled on that product in the near future?

    Thanks!

Check out the Crossgrade Crunch going on now at the link below. While it's not just for the MESA/Boogie collection, there is a great AmpliTube option offered. Stay tuned for more deals in the IK news letter too. Sign up here.

  19. That does sound odd.  I would check in with support here. Send me a PM with your ticket number once opened, and I'll make sure the team gets to you as soon as they can. In the meantime, you can try these quick suggestions which may help.

    • Remove all paths in SETTINGS > SOUND CONTENT
    • Add in only your SampleTank 3 path
    • Restart SampleTank 4
    • Once you see your SampleTank 3 sounds available, add back in your SampleTank 4 sounds

One other quick point to check. Both the SampleTank 3 and SampleTank 4 sounds should be installed to their own separate directories. Make sure that your SampleTank 4 sound content path does not include any SampleTank 3 sounds. When looking at your SampleTank 4 sound content path you will have both an Instruments and Samples folder. Make sure these include only "SampleTank 4" folders. This is all you should see here. Inside these folders are your SampleTank 4 instrument and sample files.

  20. We did release the updated list shortly after this original list. This was released with an extension for pre-orders, so users should have been able to see the full list of sounds for SampleTank 4 in time for pre-order pricing. It is understandable that this and the comparison lists could have been missed, so if you'd like to see what we can do I'm always willing to help.

Yes, thanks for this very good advice and now I got happily rid of dropouts too!!

Everything works now quite nicely with 4.04 upgrade!

Now I feel sorry thatI  didn't get Sampletank 4 Max insted of ST4 Standard!!!😲

But then I didin't know what sounds ST4 standard will contain because there was no instrument list then available!😰

Only for 100 eur more for ST4 Max and now I am missing with ST4 standard many must-have instruments like

nylon guitar, flute, fluegelhorn, alto sax, all percussion and strings etc. 😨😰

Glad to hear everything is working! 😄

We did get the list of sounds up for the pre order pricing, but just in case you missed it, you can check out the full list below. Scroll to the bottom of this page.

Sorry to hear you missed out on the intro pricing. If you'd like any help figuring out the best way to upgrade, feel free to shoot me a PM with your IK user name, and I can see what I can do to help.
