  1. scook's post in Size of cakewalk setup was marked as the answer
    Required installers
BandLab Assistant 55 MB Core CbB installer 566 MB Optional installers (these are estimates based on previous installers although they should be close to the CbB versions)
Melodyne 177 MB (Based on regular M4 installer) DrumReplacer 252 MB (Based on version bundled with SONAR) Studio Instruments 621 MB (Based on version bundled with SONAR) Theme Editor 19 MB (Based on version bundled with SONAR) The documentation in PDF format is 42 MB.

Updates to the program are much smaller. For example the current early release is 21 MB. Updates happen around every 2 months.

  2. scook's post in I can't use the Drumreplacer in cakewalk. was marked as the answer
By default the Drum Replacer is excluded from the plug-in list and should appear as it does in the image above. It is not a regular plug-in. It is a Region FX only. Here are a series of videos about the tool https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCPMyFyv8V07aM5kKbwkZlVNIodVkH9fi

  3. scook's post in Cursor not following playback, automation being ignored was marked as the answer
There is a config file change needed for that device.
Assuming CbB is set to ASIO driver mode
From the main menu Edit > Preferences Make sure the radio button at the bottom of preferences is set to Advanced Click Configuration File in preferences Audio > Devices. Set UseHardwareSamplePosition to False Click the Reload Config Settings button
  4. scook's post in Remove attached files was marked as the answer
I do not upload anything to the forum.
For original material, my posts contains links to my imgur.com account (for images) and Google drive (for everything else).

There is a way to manage uploaded files on the forum.
On the PC version of the forum in the upper-right there is a menu attached to your username.
One of the options on that menu is My Attachments.

I have noticed when I accidentally upload a file such as trying to link an image from the documentation, there is a delete option on the attachment at the bottom of the post.

  5. scook's post in Virtual instruments won't record was marked as the answer
Clicking the UI is intended for auditioning audio.
It is possible to record the audio though using synth audio recording.
Instead of recording the audio directly, try using the virtual MIDI controller to record MIDI.
  6. scook's post in Can't drag the SI Instrument from browser to tracks pane was marked as the answer
Click the Reset button in VST preferences

  7. scook's post in Instant Replay? was marked as the answer
It has nothing to do with CbB.
I searched for "instant replay" and found an instant replay mode in software bundled with NVidea cards. Is is possible this is installed?

  8. scook's post in Cakewalk.ini was marked as the answer
By default the file is empty. Add options and values to it and they will appear in the top window.

  9. scook's post in Why is MIDI playback so delayed? was marked as the answer
Do not use the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth. It is likely the major cause of the delay you are experiencing. In fact you may as well disable it.
Instead use soft synths instead. Rather than adding a MIDI track try adding TTS-1 or any other soft synth to the project using the Add track menu. See the To create Instrument tracks section on this page.

  10. scook's post in The Vedio View Problem was marked as the answer
When documented features seem to be missing the first thing to check is the Workspace setting.
The first image shows the Workspace is set to Basic.

The Basic Workspace does not include the Video view.
Try setting the Workspace to Advanced, None or create your own.

  12. scook's post in Aux Track vs Patch Point was marked as the answer
Not really. An aux track is shorthand for creating a track using a patch point as its input.

  13. scook's post in What does CdB stand for? was marked as the answer
    CbB = Cakewalk by Bandlab
    CdB is probably a typo

  14. scook's post in Event List View (Alt+8) was marked as the answer
similar thread - when a feature is missing but still in the documentation check your workspace setting
While this is likely an issue with the workspace setting to stay current make sure to review the New Features section of the documentation for changes.
  15. scook's post in Track Volume Not Sticking For Certain Tracks was marked as the answer
This happens when a track has an automation envelope setup for volume.
It is easy to do by accident. Opening up automation lanes automatically creates a volume envelope.
There is a small indicator next to the Volume label above the slider if the track has volume automation.
To deleted a volume envelope change the edit filter drop down in the track header to automation, select Volume then right-click the envelope and delete it. Envelopes may also be deleted by opening the automation lanes and using the same process. Deleting the automation lane by clicking the - in the lane header does NOT delete the automation envelope.

If the volume automation was added on purpose and the track needs the entire envelope adjusted temporarily switch to offset mode.
For more info on automation see https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Automation.01.html

  16. scook's post in TTS-1 missing was marked as the answer
If the plug-in works in any project, the plug-in is installed and working.
Is the plug-in listed in the Plug-in Manager?

Look in the excluded list by checking "Show Excluded"
  17. scook's post in Changes to "Custom Module" are not sticking? (Solved) was marked as the answer
    Probably workspace related
Create a new workspace from the current factory workspace Customize the new workspace as needed and save it Use the custom workspace

  19. scook's post in Keyboard is playing instrument above the one I selected was marked as the answer
Input Echo (the orange button to the right of the record button) is enabled on tracks 4 and 5. So, both tracks are set to play MIDI data coming from the source set in the MIDI input drop down.

  21. scook's post in Track template - for test tracks was marked as the answer
There is a v13.06 version of MCompare (at least that is the version shown in the plug-in I have installed)
Pretty sure if installed from the regular download it automatically goes into demo mode
    MeldaProduction support is pretty good.
  22. scook's post in ROLAND RD-700GX INS FILE? ---and Yamaha MOX was marked as the answer
FWIW, the master.ins containing the instrument definitions is stored in the user directory. This directory is version specific but it is possible to copy the file from one user directory to another.
The master.ins for X3 is in %appdata%\Cakewalk\SONAR X3 Producer (or whatever flavor of X3 is installed)
Copy the master.ins from the X3 folder to %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core
If there is some reason to preserve the master.ins in %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core rename it before copying the one from X3.

  23. scook's post in Plugin Custom Categories was marked as the answer
    %appdata%\Cakewalk\Library\library.db
  24. scook's post in My vsti setting change everytime when I hit pause/stop (either space or mouse click) was marked as the answer
There is not much to go on in the post but it sounds like "Zero Controllers When Play Stops" is enabled in preferences.
This is a per-project setting so, it will need to be changed in every project where this is a problem.
The value may be set for new projects by changing the project template(s).
  25. scook's post in Aftertouch cymbal choking on CakeWalk was marked as the answer
