  1. True, but most people who have a collection of plugins are used to that process. It is a bit of a hassle, but it's close to the norm, rather than an exception. I think the benefit of having a generous demo policy is that everyone can decide for themselves. That's worth more than a thousand reviews. To my ears, the heavy sounds are awesome - on par, or better, with anything else I've tried. It makes even my semi-acoustic sound like a KH ESP. I'm not sure that's a good thing, but hey.
  2. True, it's also missing some extras in the FX Rack. You could say it's 40% of SVT-VR. Still very nice for a freebie.
  3. This really is half of SVT-VR which I also have (and love). I was curious to see if they tweaked anything so I played through both of them to check, but no, it's just... the (now free) half of an existing, nice plugin.
  4. I sold an EZD2 license for $65. They come up for sale relatively often on KVR. No point in getting this 'lite' version, unless you're bored AND you get it for free.
  5. Same with me, I saw it posted here that they replaced duplicates, and I wrote to them more for a clarification than a plain request, also mentioning that I'd be happy with any replacement. I won't ask them again, if I pick up another bundle down the road. Precisely for the reason you pointed out, they've been quite generous with their sound packs (freebies on Plugin Boutique, cheap bundles, and so on), and I don't want to dissuade them from continuing on that path.
  6. It is NOT. I bought it, which resulted in one duplicate sound pack, and wrote to them asking about swapping it. They were very nice about it and replaced it with a random one, but they also made it clear that this is an exception, as they don't normally exchange sound packs bought "through these bundles". In fact, they also mentioned the possibility of transferring licenses, so for the sound packs bought on the cheap, they prefer that people find someone to trade with, if they end up with duplicates.
  7. You gotta give it to them; everything they do oozes quality. I'm not sure I'll get this, or where it fits next to my gazillion other amp sims, but just demo-ing this, as with their other plugins, is just so much damn fun.
  8. Pretty awesome that he have a historical record of sales on this forum. It helped me remember that I was interested in Clavitube in the summer, looked into it, and decided to pass even though it was about 10% cheaper (on jrr with the group code).
  9. Careful with this one, the plugindeals facebook group shared some dodgy info about the site. Don't give them any details (especially Paypal) until it's confirmed the site is legit.
  10. Don't have time to demo it now, but I just installed it and I love the interface.
  11. I used mine within 2 minutes of getting it. VSM-3 and nvelope have been screaming at me for over a month to activate them.
  12. Normally a good price, but these days there are some crazy prices for Izotope around. Check KVR, there's someone selling O 9 standard for $50, and I've seen some incredible deals on the Tonal Balance Bundle and MP suite as well.
  13. I've been demo-ing Gig Performer for the past few days (since the sale started). I love the concept. For home/studio use though, Reaper covers most of the ground with its custom FX chains that you can save as presets. Didn't know about Kushview, will have to look into it.
  14. Oh yeah. With the XLA-3, not bad for 20 bucks.
  15. Yeah, I was looking at the Bx_Meter too There are some interesting bits in the sale, but the most tempting ones I already have (as I'm sure many of us here do). I was demo-ing Fuchs Train II all morning. And right now, Gig Performer 3. But I have a feeling that I might end up with a freebie myself.
  16. That special occasion when PA smiles at the mere mortals and grudgingly opens the vault of their finest collection of sales: ***buy something at KVR prices without the hassle or get an OK freebie if you're a cheap ********
  17. The previous sale was pretty solid though. You can get most of their best plugins for no more than $15 each, at the right time, which is more than fair. And would be downright awesome, if they stopped WUP-ing us.
  18. No worries, IK sales are very common, and deals are typically only getting better. As for amp suggestions, if you browse this and other forums, you'll see there's thousands of opinions about hundreds of amp sims. It's all inherently subjective. Demo some of them, at least to figure out what' s important to you in an amp sim. There are some other ongoing sales, too. Kuassa, for example, have a sale now - they're cheap and sound good, great value. Try their Vermilion amp.
  19. Question for bundle owners: do Eventide bundles come with single plugin licenses (serial + license key)? Or is it just one license, which becomes a 'locked group' in ilok?
  20. I play mainly clean/crunch. I have/use/love S-Gear, Plini, and was using AT 4 primarily for the Fender collections, so maybe this is useful to you. If by 'realism' you mean playing feel, yeah, it's better than AT 4 (and closer to S-Gear and Neural DSP), due to the much improved cabinet section and optimizations (this will 'feel' like a big improvement especially if you were not using AT 4 with third party IR's so far). The 'realism' in Neural DSP's plugins, beyond responsiveness, is centered on their approach in modeling the entire signal chain. It sacrifices quite a bit of transparency to give you more 'production ready' sounds. In this category, nothing touches Neural DSP, including AT 5. In terms of classic, pure clean/crunch tones, the part of AT 5 that I like (both older and new amps) is, for me, a nice complement to S-Gear. This is all highly subjective though; demo it, it's the only way to know. If you are hardly using AT 4 and like S-Gear and a Neural DSP a lot more, AT 5 might not change your mind. But if you do like and use the Fender collections (like I did), you'll probably upgrade at least to AT 5 SE eventually. You could demo the new amps in AT 5 in the custom shop, to see if it's worth going for the full AT 5.
  21. Give it some time, they'll sort it out. I've also discovered a few bugs, but this is a major release and no amount of in-house testing will replicate all the scenarios in which it was used over the past 24 hours alone.
  22. Yeah, it's definitely psychological on some level. My first impulse was negative, especially when I loaded some of my A4 presets into A5. I had a similar experience with Arturia's Analog Lab 4 vs 5, where I quickly felt I missed the v4 interface. After the first 10 minutes with Amplitube 5, I loaded Amplitube 4 and browsed the collections, hoping that since I now own A5 Max, they'd all miraculously be activated in Amplitube 4, too 😄 It's not easy to switch from things you're used to.
