  1. Download: https://www.steinberg.net/vst-instruments/halion/sonic/ Info: https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2023/02/21/halion-sonic-7/ HALion Sonic 7 is your new free player for sample libraries, synthesizers and hybrid instruments, created with HALion 7 by users, sound designers or professional companies. Although HALion Sonic 7 comes without any sample content, you can find several free instruments created by Steinberg, Sonic Atoms and Cinematique Instruments (see below). - HALion 7 Sonic is provided for free and only requires a Steinberg account to register it. - Mac and Windows are supported, with HALion and Sonic being provided as VST3 and AAX with AU as an option for Mac users. - Apple Silicon-compatible binaries are also available.

  3. And apologies to the OP for going off-topic.
  4. Have you encountered any issues with the E-cores / P-cores architecture? Specifically that slower E-cores could create a bottleneck and/or degrade core load balancing, or result in lower performance due to their lower thread count? And what about the 13900's lower total thread count vs that of the 7950x? I've read several posts about these types of issues and so am a bit hesitant to stay with Intel at this point.
  5. This is what I'm planning to do as well but am not sure whether to stick with Intel (given their self‐inflicted woes) or switch to AMD (which is potentially risky since I know so little about their products and don't want to spend a lot of time, money, and effort to build a system and then have to deal with problems arising from them just recently having stolen the 'crown' from Intel). And this^ is my other concern given that my stopgap solution has been to use my laptop to run my DAW and, like you, I have constant, very distracting and annoying fan noise on hot days which caused me to work early in the mornings, late at nights, and to shift plugin-heavy projects to the winter months.
  6. After upgrading to version 5 I thought I'd use Melodyne frequently but to date have used it only a few times. While it does a good job of correcting pitch, timing, and amplitude excursions, I find it's much faster and easier to use Cubase's native VariAudio and AudioWarp to fix the first two issues and plugins (compressors, limiters, and volume levelers) to correct the third. I also thought it might be useful to generate MIDI data from audio files, but the result required so much work that it was just easier to play the part into a VI and create the MIDI data that way. So, I'm curious as to what others are doing with Melodyne, and why they find it so useful.
  7. For those who didn't get the reference (like me) ...
  8. https://shift-line.com/skynet SkyNet Reverb is a VST3/AU plugin based on the SkyNet-1 and SkyNet-2 algorithms from the Astronaut space reverb pedal. SkyNet Reverb is geared towards massive soundscapes with long decay times. By blending the two SkyNet algorithms, you can sculpt atmospheric sounds which fit your music best.
  9. Here's a demo cover of No One Like You by the Scorpions:
  10. And unfortunately HQ mode cannot be switched off according to the info I found here.
  11. Same here. The CPU load on most of their plugins has increased significantly over the last few years. And my usage of these plugins has decreased significantly as a result.

  15. It's a bit strange to quote yourself on your webpage...
  16. Thanks for posting. While downloading the presets you mentioned above, I discovered others that I didn't know about. Currently I use Soundtoys' plugins only to load factory presets. The GUIs are so small that I don't even bother to tweak them . I really wish they'd give us resizable GUIs!
  17. Agreed! I've been waiting for a voicebank like this one. I think it'll work well with Solaria.
  18. I just emailed them yesterday about being able to specify a VST3 folder of my choice and they responded in about an hour and solved my problem. So whatever the reason is for hiring it doesn't seem to be effecting their tech/customer support. They're still a great company!
