  1. Yes it is, and has been for some time. Spaces II is my goto convolution reverb.
  2. Well all that left for me is Mind Control and I signed up for that.
  3. I just transpose it to the range of the keyswitches. I got the idea from a Jordan Rudess demo where he was using one.
  4. The other thing that gets me is I would like a synth action keyboard with more than 61 keys. This, for me, is mainly because a lot of Kontakt instruments have keyswitches and getting the full range of the instrument and the keyswitches available at the same time is often not possible. Keyboard manufactures seem to work on the assumption that only piano players would want more than 61 keys. I have a AKAI mini keyboard on top my NI S61 to get access to keyswitches.
  5. Yes, something like the NKS sound preview would be a big improvement. I have about half of this already but 9 times out of 10 I go with Arturia, GForce of Korg Legacy synths.
  6. I was going to post this, but as usual Larry was there long before me. I do like the look of this. It seems it would be a quick way of creating some interesting parts. The demos certainly sound good. Temptation level medium to high.
  7. I have had Composer Cloud for a while. It gets a fair bit of use and something fro it appears on most tracks. One thing I have found is I use the libraries I would not have considered buying a lot more than the ones I thought I wanted. There is some inspiring stuff in there.
  8. That Juno 106 is brilliant. The ARP2600 is good too but it takes a bit of getting used to.
  9. It's worth picking up as either an instrument or an effect. But be warned, if you get comfortable with modular enviroment you will want to buy more modules. The good news is they are not that expensive.
  10. They are setting up in competition with Cclarry.
  11. Quick load is your friend. It's actually easier than searching the libraries tab as you can create folders and sub-folders and group instruments in a way that makes sense to you.
  12. The vintage voice bundle is nice. The Juno 160 emulation in particular is as good a many a VSTi costing more. Plus you have the added patching options in the modular environment. I am tempted by the vintage bundle for $19
  13. I think its worth looking at Bandcamp. https://bandcamp.com/artists I don't have personal experience with the artist functions but I think they are pretty much the fairest when it comes to charges etc. I buy quite a bit of music through Bandcamp and I like the opportunity to download in different formats including MP3 FLAC and WAV. You get to set what is effectively a minimum price which can be as low as zero. The customer can elect to pay more and I understand many do. So it could be a good way of making your music available if you are not too concerned about making money. That's the easy bit. Publicity is the bugbear particularly if you ar
  14. I quite like that, I have been half considering Beam Ends. (while is part of a ship the phrase On one beam ends = in a bad situation)
  15. I want a new "band name" for my current project, something nautical, so far searching nautical glossaries I have rejected. Cod End Bilge Buttock Lines Gammoning Hole Clenched Lap Jeer Bits Diminishing Strakes
  16. If I did not have them already I might go for some of the M-Tron pro expansions. I don't have the sfx bank but I doubt if it would be that useful to me. And I am waiting on a quote from a session singer so I think I had better save cash for that,
  17. Well, I missed that, I was looking for a button of menu item. Thanks for pointing it out.
  18. Yet again Bandcamp is supporting artists selling through their platform today by waiving their fees so 100% of the purchase price goes to the artist. So its a good day to treat yourself to some new music. Bandcamp have my respect!
  19. I made the mistake of watching the video. I nearly backed off when VAT was added but I reckon I will get my money's worth from this.
  20. Is it free or is it $49? You can certainly download it and use it for nothing but there is the option to buy it. I must take the time to read the T&Cs.**** I went to look at it again and I can see the version I had install was quite old. It has been improved a lot. I doubt if I would have paid the full whack for the Arturia but I got it for $49 as I have V collection 7. The Arturia adds presets and additional modulation options both of which go beyond the capabilities of the original. As the architecture of the synth is very straightforward the lack of presets on the DiscoDSP is not the end of the world. also the Arturia has built in effects. Convenient but not essential if you have some decent VST effects. I have had a quick 5 minuets with the IK, scrolling through the presets. It has an immediacy about it and the presets sound very good indeed. It lacks the total tweakability of the other two but that won't worry a lot of people. The other down side compared to the Arturia is the load times when changing presets. Edit. *** The DiscoDSP use is unrestricted but they ask you to buy to support further development.
  21. Interesting that this happened right after Arturia's release🙂. While I figure it will be pretty much redundant as I have the Arturia product I am downloading now. I think the Syntronic stuff sounds very good but I get frustrated editing sounds. One of the big things for me is you are stuck with an oscillator wave form in a patch. One of my first actions in tweaking a sound is often to play with the oscillator wave forms. On the plus side the ability to change filter types is a nice touch so it will be intresting to try the OB-Xa with Moog filter.
  22. Yep - from the Toontrack website "Works with EZdrummer, EZdrummer 2, Superior Drummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3" If anyone is a Superior user and has problems installing a MIDI pack without EZDrummer they should take it up with Toontrack. EZDrummer expansions should also work if you have Superior but not EZDrummer according to the website with the caveat that if you have older versions of EZ or Superior some of the newer expansions could be an issue. For the recent Action EZX SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS. 1 GB free disk space, 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended). A working EZdrummer 2.1.7 or Superior Drummer 3.1.2 (or above) installation. And the older Funkmasters SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS. 1.2 GB of free hard disk space, 1 GB RAM. A working EZdrummer 1.4 (or above) or a Superior Drummer 2.3 (or above) installation.
  23. Icon. The late, great John Wetton. And a young Ann Marie Helder, I really waiting for new Panic Room material.
  24. Tonewheel is great. Its absolutely filthy sounding so it won't be suitable for a lot of tracks but if you want heavy and distorted this is perfect.
  25. I love OTS but it will have to exceptional. I have more virtual Rhodes than you can shake a stick at.
