  1. I just upgraded to an x8 and I'm about to put a Silver 16 up for sale. PS: The converters in the x series are AMAZING.
  2. How wierd! I searched and never found one - thanks for this!
  3. I really appreciate his uniqueness and I am a huge fan of Jehovahkill. I wish that was available on vinyl!
  4. Hey all, I reached out to Michael Brauer and asked to share his 2 bus preset for the Softube Germanium Comp. He said: Yah it’s a rock’n plugin. Yes you may share my preset. Happy thanksgiving ! I've attached it to this post - try it on your mix bus and report back! Michael Brauers Mix Buss 2.tfx
  5. Hey Ed remember my song Believe you recorded bass for a few years back? I decided to remix it with new tools and new skills, and ended up stumbling on an entirely new approach to the song. Thanks to Brauer's tip on the Germanium comp, this song has some serious pants and your bass line is BANGING! I look forward to sharing something with you soon.
  6. I am not familiar with Pro Mix Academy but I haven't run across anything like the Deconstructing a Mix videos on MWTM. Seeing a mixer break down a song they mixed is unbelievably enlightening. It's very much real-world, in-context stuff rather than here's a kick drum let you show you how compression works. Of all the training sites I've used, this one has been the best without a doubt - for me.
  7. I think the bulk is rock and pop. Just a quick search shows me that Shawn Murphy and Al Schmitt have some videos related to orchestra. I didn't find any videos tagged with jazz, country, or EDM. Alan Meyerson has a two hour series on mixing Hans Zimmer's "Pirates of the Caribbean".
  8. I might reach out to his assistant and ask if I can share the preset. I wouldn't do that without permission...
  9. Hi Kevin, For me I think one year will do it. There will be a lot I won't see because I tend to focus on a few mixers and there are MANY. If you want to get through everything then you're going to have to be consistent in your viewing. The live sessions typically cost extra. I've done three - one with Chris Lord Alge, one with Schepps, and one with Brauer. That's where I met Brauer and was able to hire him to mix a song for me. They aren't cheap, but in my opinion they are worth every single penny. I register early but it seems to me the tickets didn't sell out super quick. You could reach out and ask them - they are great guys!
  10. I am a member and this money was money better spent than almost any plugin I've ever purchased. This is a treasure trove of knowledge!
  11. That's the one. I haven't spent much time with it. I put it on the master bus of a project I'm working on, loaded Michael's preset, and decided I need to purchase it.
  12. Yeah, when Michael specifically recommended it to me via a Zoom call based on his experience with my song, it became the definition of "must buy".
  13. I'm really hoping it's the germanium comp. I had Michael Brauer mix a song for me and he sent me his mixbus preset for it and recommended I try it for more bottom on my mixes. I've tried the demo and his preset adds some pants to it.
  14. Softube Germanium Compressor
  15. I already snagged it from my Sweetwater rep but that's a great price!
  16. Thanks Ed - it was enlightening to hear where Michael took my stems. The best part was doing a real-time streaming revision session with Michael and his team.
  17. The file was named New Lakland Bass. and thanks for listening!
  18. Hi all, I thought I'd share my new song. I decided to branch out a bit and see what it was like to work with some pros. The bass on this is played by Dean Dinning of Toad the Wet Sprocket. It was mixed by Michael Brauer, and then mastered by Joe LaPorta at Sterling Sound. It was amazingly cool and humbling to work with Dean and Michael. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope I get to do this again (budget willing)! https://www.dropbox.com/s/k2zbpf5c8dre2r2/Ultraviolet_M1_eq 11-04.wav?dl=0
