  1. Ahh, a kindred soul from Sonar? Very cool. That very beginning sounds like the Donna Summer Bad Girls whistle. Killer rhyming guitars.
  2. This is really pretty great. What is it, 5/4 then 3/4 ? Is there such a thing as 6/4? 🙂 Great mix as well.
  3. Thanks Pete, me too! I just read a book about his life and times...that's why I did this cover. He was a funny and sad guy at the same time.
  4. This release has the fab @kiwichrys on backing vocals, a new lead vocal track and a new mix. Accidently Like a Martyr was one of my favorite songs of the great Excitable Boy album. https://baselines.com/?p=6604
  5. Thank you Lynn - always liked this song and finally got around to covering it.
  6. Thank you! I think this actually got up to number 15 way back there. It was also commissioned for a Coppola movie.
  7. Hi Antler - I heard it on Spotify a little while ago and it just made me glad and sad at the same time - glad that it exists, sad that that innocent time has past. Gave me goosebumps, had to cover it. And you are absolutely right - I think the same thing. I left it the way it was, but it would probably be better muting it a little. I was surprised that the drummer was playing those hi-hat 16th, so I accentuated it at the time. And I guess I made the tambourine loud because I'm not really a guitarist or a singer and thought it would pull attention away from those only two other things that were playing.
  8. Thanks Nigel - It's from ancient times LOL. Always liked it. Thanks for the comment!
  9. All right, I know - it is the fare of those great 60s late night commercials for the cd sets. But hell, when I heard this again at 2AM coming out of my TV, I was just floored by how great an old song it was and had to try it. I had fun, but I just hope I didn't ruin it too much. https://baselines.com/?p=6599
  10. Great job - the video looks ultra clean and pro. That bass looks killer, especially from the tail end. Everything sounds great as well.
  11. Hiya Gary - nice job here. I actually like the beginning of the 1008 version better, but it's just my opinion, who knows?
  12. Yes - perfect bass and drums power. Then the guitar and vocal work very well over it and then that great 3AM piano. Nice work.
  13. Nice chill sounds. Is that plane photo the US or Europe? I think a nice vocal could be worked over this. Maybe like a Warren Zevon but I'm just spit balling here.
  14. Nice feel to this song. I think the kick is louder than the bass part - but just my opinion - being a bass player by trade, I'll always scream and cry about that! Great song though.
  15. You DID capture the feel! I reach back for the Amplitube Fender stuff from time to time - this makes me want to go back and do something with it again!
