Sometimes I debate on these deals knowing TS Max is a good deal but how much of that do you really need. I even started to evaluate this after upgrading Komplete.
I'm gonna take a stab here and think not much will change. It could be Bandlab now has the rights to call it Sonar. Something that was free turns into something paid for isn't going to be accepted.
How many of us know how big Bandlab really is? We are just a small part of it. I guess their phone app is big overseas and it's free. But I'm pretty ignorant about the whole organization. Maybe they will do what Reason and Tracktion does and rely on selling sound content.
It's kinda sad the regression of Wusik. It was popular at one time. He blames issues on mental illness and I don't think people are buying into it.
Forgiveness is hard and he needs to do something to change that. I left Wusik are no updates and into a paid upgrade.
We got off topic. When you fork out $200 for Komplete U that last thing I want to hear is how "cheap" drives are. I prefer SATA SSD because I can use 6 SATA ports. I still run Komplete of HDDs on some systems. I started to delete plenty of never used Kontakt libraries.
I practically have all of Sampletekk pianos and thinking no need for the Giant, Maverick. Granduer. and Gemtlemen. I'm not really into pianos other than sketching for synths. BTW those libraries load fine on a HDD.
The beauty of PA is you can download each file. Hornet does that. Melda you can pick.
It get the idea of the all in one installer when you have as many products as Waves and IK.
The biggest headache for me was NA 2.
As developers seen to use more disk space I'm starting to use more scrutiny and what do keep on drives. I've gotten away from free stuff. When you have all of the popular synth VSTs I don't think there's a point in synth romplers for me anymore. BTW Kontakt is also a synth. I still keep a lot of stuff on spinning drives.
I don't have enough space to install all of it. Some of it is bloated as well.
Debating on what old pianos to keep.
Deleted Symphony Essential since I can't keep track of the other developers beginning orchestras.
Action Strings 2 worth installing?
That solo violin rivals Soundpaint for bloatness. Not gonna install that.
Tape plugins are designed to capture DAW enthusiasts much like a topwater baits lure fisherman.
The younger generation doesn't really care about tape emulation. One can dupe themselves in thinking these are necessary plugins.
Few people remember the dongle pandemic in the early party of the century. This was back when software was boxed. It didn't take long for IK to ditch the dongle. Now they evolved to having one of the most user friendly licenses.
Subs have been around from developers for quite some time they just don't throw it in your face. There are too many stupid people running things but not really knowing about users and the software.
