  1. Personally I prefer how Studio One does it where each track goes to an instance of their sampler with an appropriate instrument loaded according to the MIDI program number associated with the track. That way I can easily replace each track with the best possible instrument to use with it.
  2. Of course the key words are sufficiently and sort of.
  3. If you mangle it sufficiently, it does sort of become your own, though.
  4. Yes, and I'd pay a bit more than $20 for it.
  5. "Multidrive" LE is just a single Boss overdrive emulation. Also the full version requires iLok, but the LE version does not.
  6. If you are the type of person who likes to make a track from samples that have been chopped up, rearranged, and the fragments repitched so that the track bears no resemblance to the original sample, then Acid is a tool you should consider. It's not a great choice for an everyday DAW, though.
  7. After not releasing new drummer models for a long time, they have been releasing one a month or so for the past three months. Can't wait for this one either. https://www.rayzoon.com/jamstix_expansions.html#ds A famous album in the 1970's popularized a drum style marked by steady grooves with a straight ride pattern and big tom-heavy fills oozing triplets. Drummer 'Nick' conjures up that style of drumming for you but with all the versatility and adaptibility that the Jamstix engine provides. Combine him with any existing style for exciting new combinations or use the new styles of this MiniPak for authentic, yet innovative variations of the dark side paradigm. These new styles cover shuffled 7/4, slow 6/8, slow 4/4 with 16th swing and even a trippy, creative tom style that will make you grab a Rototom library for sound. This MiniPak also contains 12 new kits, which using existing sounds, create a sonic atmosphere that matches the spirit of the dark side and related famous past performances.
  8. I don't use synthmaster as much as I could/should, but it is capable of so many great synth sounds.
  9. They are at least up to version 2.9.8. They might need to release version 3 before they run out of numbers between 2.9 and 3.
  10. I have found a couple of their presets where the volume is set to 1 or so.
  11. There are some nice effects in Fender 1 as well.
  12. I didn't think you were supposed to start BF alerts until November. Then again someone brought Christmas cookies in to work today...
  13. Looking back I can see that what I wrote was not clear but I did pick up the Leslie's as bonuses already.
  14. I have one last plugin to redeem. I have all of Amplitube, all but one of the tapes, Leslies, basic TRacks, and the Mic lab. Which one to get?
  15. Musicradar.com just set up a page for it in the last 17 hours: https://www.musicradar.com/news/best-black-friday-and-cyber-monday-deals
  16. in all fairness, the types of issues I have had on Windows 10 amount to no more than nag popups telling me I need to upgrade. I have not yet had an update break any of my hosts or plugins. On the other hand, if I were a mac user, it looks like Catalina would have broken them all.
  17. That's true for me as well. My ability to score and for orchestra (and need to do so) doesn't currently justify having anything more detailed than Dimension Pro.
  18. I have been playing with both of them. You can get some interesting results if you use Ringo with Bruford styles and vice versa.
  19. Bill Bruford and Ringo Starr in one month!
  20. I usually put Amplitube in front of S-Gear for distortions, wah, etc. Post-amp I might put something like NI's Choral or Replika.
  21. This is not apples to apples (and can't be), but I still prefer the gainier sounds from the Wayfarer amp from S-Gear to similar tones from Amplitube's MB Mk III or Mk IV. But IK has made some big strides. Compare the unlicensed Mk III from the core package to the Mk III in the newer Mesa/Boogie collection and you will see just how far they have come.
