  1. Not only that, but you can also use the components as individual plugins. Of course they installed all of the plugins even ones you aren't registered to use, but then it's easy enough to exclude them from your plugin menus.
  2. I have a fair amount of older projects where I used RMV for downtempo type drums. I have noticed over the past year or so that this plugin will often crash Cakewalk on open or close. This happens inconsistently, but it seems to happen if I open and close multiple projects within a session. Has anyone else had similar issues with this or other plugins?
  3. Has anyone tried these yet? The audio demos pretty much use three sounds per song, and you can't really hear anything in the first demo over the drums.
  4. However, you can use points to buy something and be qualified.
  5. Yeah there's even a DXi Version. It's not all that remarkable by today's standards, but when it came out it was easily one of the best free synths out there.
  6. I lived through the 80s and while there was a lot of bad stuff that was popular, even the dreck sounded better than that demo song.
  7. And those who took advantage of the Arturia holiday giveaway are probably not in the market for this.
  8. I don't know if I knew that Kontakt generated MIDI Output before, but that opens up a lot of layering possibilites.
  9. For this sort of thing I don't think first anyone should claim credit for first postings unless they post change logs or at least a link to them.
  10. It also wouldn't hurt to have some of those presets. For example, with the Slash collection, you had some presets which showed off the components in ways that weren't necessarily tied to his discography. Why not have presets showing off the treble booster with other amps? Or good uses for the Fox phaser? This brings me to another one of those peeves of mine. Amplitube has a feature to allow users to save model presets. I never understood why IK never includes model presets for any of its gear.
  11. The gate and the crybaby are a bit redundant depending on what gear you already have. I think the treble booster is a little noisy. The Fox phaser is different. As a traditional phaser it's limited, but the foot pedal controlled sweep is interesting. The Red Special is kind of a nice way to get some tones from your instrument you might not normally get, though. As much as I appreciate his playing, I always thought Brian May's tone was a bit boxy, and the presets seem to exaggerate that. I'd prefer they focus on manufacturer lines instead of artists, though. I'd especially like to see a Wampler line.
  12. There's a switch near the top with the options I - RS - II, which is set to RS by default. You need to set it to I if playing through single coils, II for humbuckers. In the RS mode the pickup selector switches don't do anything because it assumes that your input is a Red Special guitar. Which seems amazingly pointless because there's not much point in using that model if you are actually playing a Red Special. Also the pickups are arranged with the bridge on the left and neck on the right. If you notice the curve which is supposed to represent the curve of BM's guitar, it makes sense that you are looking at his guitar from audience perspective and it makes sense. I have to admit, though, that it took me a moment to see it.
  13. I don't often get far enough to worry about mastering, but Lurssen feels like cheating. And I don't think there is a need for another delay, but then again it seems like people are releasing LA-2A compressors every day too.
  14. I like the BT Prism and Monark presets, and most of the Battery kits are useable. I don't like the way NI does their expansion kits, though. All content goes to D:\Native Instruments\{Expansion Name}. It works if you are using Komplete Kontrol or Maschine, but with Battery or Reaktor, you need to either copy the content to user directories or navigate to the content directory every time.
  15. NI has put together a donationware pack of samples and presets, available here: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/2020/community-drive/ Content contributed by artists such as Sia, BT, Kimbra, Junkie XL, Richard Devine, and others. 16. In the meantime, there's always KVR's Bargain Center.
  17. It's a '57 Champ. I thought that those two models came out before the Fender Collections came out, but they both have patches which contain effects from the Fender 1 collection.
  18. Uncle E posted on the guitar forum yesterday at KVR, so he's ok even if his site isn't.
  19. I'm really skeptical about Guitar Rig 6. Guitar Rig 5 came out in 2011 (?) and the added amp models weren't competitive even back then. I've seen a lot of references to job postings at NI over the years which mention GR, but not a lot of deliverables.
  20. I hope nobody downvotes me for saying I use Songsmith on occasion. I've found a lot of the Rigid libraries inspirational. They seem to find good ways to combine sounds and patterns. I was recently going through old projects and found a lot of them started with sequences from Absynth or Rapture.
  21. Wampler Pinnacle + Fender Princeton is one of my favorite combos.
  22. Plugins like AAS Strum GS2 are great because a couple of random notes on the keyboard can give you a chord progression you might not otherwise have come up with. EZ Keys as well. Contests, particularly remix contests, are also great because they force you to come up with ideas that are not obvious.
  23. I ended up going with the Funky Cat library for Strum. I don't love it but it might have some potential and it was on sale and I probably would have bought it anyway. That aside, I was playing with the rack recently. I think the biggest use I will get out of it is the MIDI Out device.
  24. I believe the word you are looking for is "vintage". However, it does come with a MIDI Out device. You can create an instrument track with the Reason Rack where the MIDI Output device is loaded. Once you have done that, you can set any number of other instrument tracks to use the Rack's midi output as an input. This will allow you to play multiple synths simultaneously.
  25. While I was getting around to getting a MIDI loopback.... Plugin Boutique is giving away Reason Lite with any purchase. This comes with a VST3 rack plugin which has a MIDI output device. This works perfectly so far.
