  1. An epic organ sampled while being smashed with a pickaxes , reamped in a cathedral in Prague featuring a custom granular synthesis engine.
  2. I got Lurssen as part of the Max deal. It's ridiculous how easy it is to make a mix sound good. It almost feels like cheating.
  3. For me, the problem is not so much space as much as it is organization. Trying to find the best loops and one shots can be a challenge. I really should check out some of the sample grouping tools. Then when it comes to instrument libraries there are too many cases where I am not sure if something is worth saving.
  4. The bundles contain a bunch of loops and presets for Massive, Prism, Monark, and Battery. I assume if you have Maschine it's easy to work with these. If, like me, you don't have Maschine you could browse through the content with Komplete Kontrol instead. I don't typically use Komplete Kontrol in my DAW for most things. Maybe Pianos and EPs (especially since Lounge Lizard is NKS compatible), but usually not for synths. If I want to use any of these presets in the synths they are made for, I have to copy them from where the expansions are stored and into the user directories for the given synths.
  5. I t I'm not so sure about that. I remember the Scarbee Rick Bass was only in the Ultimate version, but is now in Standard. Cuba was in 12 Ultimate but not Standard, now in 13. Same with the Sunburst guitar. Same with Crush Pack. But, there's a lot of stuff that's been around for a while that hasn't found its way down, such as most of the AR Drums and Scarbee Basses, as well as the reverbs and compressors (although cheat mode: they seem to be available in GR6).
  6. OK, Nautilus is actually pretty good for bass sounds and can even do some decent simple analog style pads. Iridium, on the other hand, sounds like stock SynthEdit oscillators run through distortion. The other two just sound a bit dated to me. Again, this is just based on a quick sample of presets, maybe they need a better patch designer.
  7. Probably not. Listen to the demo tracks. Few of the presets sound any better.
  8. They didn't list it on the product page, but Evil Dragon said on kvr that Replika would also be included in GR6.
  9. I had let my subscription lapse for about six months. Any recent issues worth checking out?
  10. There is a video on Groove 3 if that helps.
  11. That's cool. Also glad to see they fixed the ASIO driver bug. It's quite annoying to have to try out a bunch of drivers because they didn't get them labeled correctly.
  12. Also, due to issues with the developer, this is not something you should expect to see upgraded to 64 bit any time soon.
  13. More likely that Sennheiser paid for a set number of authorizations and finally hit that number.
  14. Not only that, but you can also use the components as individual plugins. Of course they installed all of the plugins even ones you aren't registered to use, but then it's easy enough to exclude them from your plugin menus.
  15. I have a fair amount of older projects where I used RMV for downtempo type drums. I have noticed over the past year or so that this plugin will often crash Cakewalk on open or close. This happens inconsistently, but it seems to happen if I open and close multiple projects within a session. Has anyone else had similar issues with this or other plugins?
  16. Has anyone tried these yet? The audio demos pretty much use three sounds per song, and you can't really hear anything in the first demo over the drums.
  17. However, you can use points to buy something and be qualified.
  18. Yeah there's even a DXi Version. It's not all that remarkable by today's standards, but when it came out it was easily one of the best free synths out there.
  19. I lived through the 80s and while there was a lot of bad stuff that was popular, even the dreck sounded better than that demo song.
  20. And those who took advantage of the Arturia holiday giveaway are probably not in the market for this.
  21. I don't know if I knew that Kontakt generated MIDI Output before, but that opens up a lot of layering possibilites.
  22. For this sort of thing I don't think first anyone should claim credit for first postings unless they post change logs or at least a link to them.
  23. It also wouldn't hurt to have some of those presets. For example, with the Slash collection, you had some presets which showed off the components in ways that weren't necessarily tied to his discography. Why not have presets showing off the treble booster with other amps? Or good uses for the Fox phaser? This brings me to another one of those peeves of mine. Amplitube has a feature to allow users to save model presets. I never understood why IK never includes model presets for any of its gear.
  24. The gate and the crybaby are a bit redundant depending on what gear you already have. I think the treble booster is a little noisy. The Fox phaser is different. As a traditional phaser it's limited, but the foot pedal controlled sweep is interesting. The Red Special is kind of a nice way to get some tones from your instrument you might not normally get, though. As much as I appreciate his playing, I always thought Brian May's tone was a bit boxy, and the presets seem to exaggerate that. I'd prefer they focus on manufacturer lines instead of artists, though. I'd especially like to see a Wampler line.
  25. There's a switch near the top with the options I - RS - II, which is set to RS by default. You need to set it to I if playing through single coils, II for humbuckers. In the RS mode the pickup selector switches don't do anything because it assumes that your input is a Red Special guitar. Which seems amazingly pointless because there's not much point in using that model if you are actually playing a Red Special. Also the pickups are arranged with the bridge on the left and neck on the right. If you notice the curve which is supposed to represent the curve of BM's guitar, it makes sense that you are looking at his guitar from audience perspective and it makes sense. I have to admit, though, that it took me a moment to see it.
