Baps, i was up in the cheap seats on the side. As I remember it, Clapton was mostly obscured by a pa column. 6 degrees of separation đ Tom

How do you name the notes?

Missed Cream, saw Blind Faith at the fabulous Forum in â69. Highlight of the night? The opening act; Free! Beware Mr Baker... tom

Do the verbs require iLoc?

Germ is correct, $167 minus the $99 I would spend in November on G3 anyway, left MPS3 a net $68; that for me was a no brainer. Sorry if I started any âheart palpitationsâ. The $99 âerrorâ had me going for a minute. T

Tom, David Bowie, wow, high praise indeed. (I was known to wear âglitterâ and even a mini skirt once in the early 70âs, mini skirt was a parody on a JC Penny commercial âI want to look like an Americanâ) Interesting thoughts/idea for a bit more live feel, Iâll have to check it out. I think my cover of âKey to the Highwayâ maybe has a bit more live feel, the vocal at least. Thanks for your input and kind words. Tom

Tom thanks for sharing how you got that beautiful piano. I have several vsti that are pretty good, if I ever develop the chops for a solo piece, Iâll have a start for getting it ârightâ. I always start with TTS, and since itâs a rock mix, end up leaving it. Tom

Old Joad, thanks for dropping by, Iâll pump up the cowbell in the next one ;-). And please remember, âimitation is the sincerest form of flatteryâ. Tom

Hey Jerry, "Good honest bar-room fayre!" Thanks for listening, it means alot; my man Jeff and I both appreciate it. T

Just got the Groove 3 code from Izotope... How long did that take? I ask because I jumped on the JRR deal, $68 for the MPS3 seems a "no brainer" (I would be renewing my G3 sub next month anyway). Plus, all this "chatter" got my GAS beyond a tolerable level: thanks, I think? Tom

Hey Jerry, Nicely done. It got me ready for a busy day and I thank you for that. Keep it up! Tom

Tom All I can do is echo what has been said, and mention that Bb, I think, at 0:36; wow! Really nice, Bravo indeed. Tom

Douglas, I'll buy a round, but I think I'll make mine a shot of tequila. Why would a man drink beer when he can drink whiskey? Has that been used as a song title? Seriously though, thanks for listening. Tom

Mettelus "The other caveat is that the X4 NMVe slot is typically available to only one NVMe drive (at the cost of 2 SATA drive slots). That NVMe slot makes the ideal sample drive, and where the biggest/fastest NVMe would shine." Good point, something I had forgotten that Jim explained to me when we set my Cat up. I'm a stickler for "redundancy" so I have a drive in every slot, for samples the 1T m.2 has me "covered" for the stuff I use most. I have a second sample drive, SSD, for the lesser used libraries. I never partition the OS drive for fear that when reinstalling the OS image, we all image frequently right?, I'll format the entire drive. again YMMV, Tom

Jim, My StudioCat #1 (Win 7, 9 years old in December) is still running strong and is now my "Office" DAW. My general use Office machine is Win7x86, consequently I can't run CbB, so it no longer is a "DAW"; just QuickBooks, FireFox, etc. Win 7, though not "supported" is a solid OS, (I'm running my embroidery machines {3 computers} on XP machines); I'm not worried about "support". StudioCat#2, my Studio machine is a screamer! However, had I waited a year, how much extra "bang for my buck" could StudioCat given me? Think about it; SSD, m.2, RAM, these prices are all dropping, often drastically, almost on a daily basis. I know its hard, but I would save my money, you'll get far more mileage that way. Play the long game here, IF your current machine fails; well then all bets are off... Just my nickel98 Tom
-
He makes a good case for the m.2 as the C drive. if the MOBO supports two m.2 drives, go for it. One caveat, I would keep the OS âlean and meanâ prices are certainly coming down, but no need for 1T OS drives. Where the m.2 shines on my system is loading samples. Just my nickel98, YMMV Thanks for the link Bob. Tom

Meatloaf, now that's a first for me. "Amazing harp fits really well." Jeff appreciated your comments, and sends along his thanks. Tom

Sorry Ed I couldn't help myself...

Well Che, the bell doth toll for thee. But seriously, nice bit of "social consciousness". The solo piano had a nice ambiance to it. The vocal harmony made the chorus very effective. Keep plugging away. Tom

Any harm w/ leaving a session open for days on end?

My studio rig I shutdown when I'm done; but I might not be back for a while. My office rig runs 24/7, always has; so I don't think its an issue at all. YMMV Tom -
I've been back to listen 3 times ( and thought it had a Beatleish vibe as well. Someone mentioned Ringo). Classic Daryl performance (I jumped on the Forum Monkeys link to refresh, of course regulars here are all familiar). Daryl keeps the bar high for the rest of us... Tom The Do Dah Dog Band, now that's a blast from the past.

Thank you Daryl. Wish I could say I played the piano, I'll have to admit to it mostly being some more shameless appropriation. Tom
-
Yeah, I was thinking Brian Setzer Orchestra, Cherry Poppin Daddy, etc. Thanks BassDaddy, T
-
Man, so well played by all involved; that piano into especially! And I assume the same player on the Hammond? Guitars, Harp, Bass, Drums; all so tight. Whoops, almost left out the vocal. Great mix, puts me right in the room. Can't wait for the video... Tom

So would this be appropriate for some Brian Setzer action? T
