On my drive the plug ins are located in ... program files>steinberg<vstplugins last thing I can think of that's not too technical is whether some remnants of the previous uninstall are left on the computer? or , Win 11 compatibility issues? best of luck with it.

Ok, so I have the interface on screen, you insert it beneath an instrument track on another instrument track, it won't show on the mixer, but when inserting check the "synth property page" & synth track view", Midi Cap is now accessed from the synth rack, but it doesn't record, it is stationary?

edit; works fine in Reaper, but has slightly better functionality in Cubase, it has a CLAP version. Does Cakewalk support CLAP ? Thanks

Has anyone managed to successfully integrate Birds Midi Cap in Cakewalk? Tried the adding Directshow trick to audio file configuration, no joy, keeps showing as not compatible because of Directshow? half works in Reaper, works perfectly in Cubase, would like to get it working in Cakewalk. Thanks.

Try turning "Audible bounce" off, with real time render switched on, means rendering the file in silence, may solve the issue.

Win 11 is basically spyware, but on Win 10 you have the hibernate mode hiberfli.sys file that uses memory in the background, estimate between 40 to 75 percent of RAM (I couldn't believe it either) even if it is turned off (sleep mode used) it still functions in the background using the same hibernate mode for "fast start" which still used more than half of memory, I just adjusted mine in Win 10 and it's going like crap off a shovel. Maybe the same in Win 11, although I'm sure it would be more difficult to disable it.

still inconclusive imo, the chap in the video is clearly miming the intro, he presses the keyboard about half a second before any sound, and when he does start playing on the middle one, it's out of tune. need to get the space fascination patch to settle it.

Have you tried using the "take lanes" ? there is a button in the bottom left of the audio track controls, give yourself a 4 count on the metronome before recording starts on every take, then you could edit the takes together to make a finished performance.
