  1. Correct. Always look deeper! 😉
  2. Looks like Arturia leveraged the synthesis engine of Pigments with an extended sample engine. The GUI layout for the layers in the advanced section appears somewhat similar to that of Applied Acoustic Systems Chromaphone 3 layers.
  3. Not an influencer here, but this is what you get with the full version, access to the parameters in the layers A & B.
  4. Right here at VI-Control > https://vi-control.net/community/threads/arturia-getting-into-orchestral-libraries-augmented-strings.123731/page-2
  5. My offers... but sadly, no Augmented Strings. This is what I get when I click on the $29 link on the product page. Edit: Arturia customer support quickly added the upgrade discount coupon to my account after I contacted them! All good now!
  6. Click the little trash can icon on each image in edit mode (down at the bottom).
  7. What's weird here is that I cannot even install the full demo. The ASC apparently thinks it's already installed, and the Intro and Full version are joined at the hip. For example, if I uninstall Intro, then the Full version is available to "Explore" (Demo), but downloading that just puts Intro back on my machine! And the demo is nowhere to be found! WTH!!! 🤪
  8. I am logged in and have Augmented Strings Intro in my account. Still $99 here...
  9. I forgot to mention that this sampler is free now! https://www.onesmallclue.com/ One Small Clue’s Grace Sampler VST Plugin Is Now FREE! https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2015/09/14/grace-sampler-free/
  10. No love here... and I have Intro in my Arturia account. 😢
  11. You can create your own sample instrument libraries using your custom .wav files. Unfortunately Cakewalk doesn't bundle a general purpose sampler instrument to use with your .wav files. So you will need to at least acquire one of the free sampler plugins. Here's a quick overview of the basic sampling and multi-sampling process. The TX16Wx as suggested by Starship Krupa is designed for multi-sampling: https://www.izotope.com/en/learn/making-a-custom-sampler-instrument.html You can also use the free sforzando plugin for quick "drop in a wave and play it back across the keyboard" type stuff. That plugin creates an sfz format text file that controls how the sample plays back. So no visual sample editing in that GUI, but it is playable with MIDI and the piano roll. "sforzando has only one instrument slot; no fancy UI, effects or mixers. Every tweak has to be done at the SFZ file level". https://www.plogue.com/products/sforzando.html For various pre-made sampled instrument sounds, take a look at the free Decent Sampler, and the many available free Pianobook instruments that other samplists have created with their own samples. You can also create your own Pianobook libraries using your samples, and contribute them to Pianobook. 12. And speaking of the need for another Wurli... the only one that I have that even comes close to this tone is the sampled 1974 Wurli in SampleTank 4 MAX. And for comparison, I also have the AAS Lounge Lizard Session, AIR Velvet 2 , Arturia Wurli V, NI Scarbee A-200, and Waves Electric200. I'm sure that if Orange Tree can do the Famous E, just imagine what their take on a vintage Wurli would sound like!
  13. I would say that the B-3X sounds very authentic to my ears, just judging by recordings of it that I have heard, although never had the opportunity to play a real one. And it's got the Leslie emulation on board. And the fact that it's Hammond endorsed may mean something, but YMMV...
  14. I acquired the NI Noire with Komplete 13, and it's a fine piano! Have the Famous E for Rhodes, and the IK Hammond B-3x for tonewheel organ. But you make a great point, still don't have a standout Wurli either, other than a few acceptable substitutes. I was a huge fan of Supertramp back in the day, and I believe the Wurli was a signature sound of theirs.
  15. If you mean the Cakewalk Piano Roll, that is strictly for playing MIDI instruments or entering MIDI notes, not .wav files. You would first need a sampler instrument to load your .wav files into, that could then be triggered with notes on a piano roll, or from a MIDI controller.
  16. For bass, I am all over the place! I have the Ample Sound acoustic upright and 5-string electric, most of the UJAM basses, MODO Bass, and Toontrack EZbass. That sort of just happened. I even have a Fender P-bass in the closet... I don't doubt that OT has some fine basses, but I'm not in the bass market at the moment...
  17. FLAC is lossless... https://www.cnet.com/tech/home-entertainment/what-is-flac-the-high-def-mp3-explained/
  18. That's a great choice! And I paired it with the Evolution Rock Standard electric. https://www.orangetreesamples.com/products/evolution-rock-standard "Evolution Rock Standard extensively reproduces the sound of an iconic electric guitar that holds a central role in the history of rock music. These guitars have continued in popularity through the decades, featuring in countless landmark recordings and performances." "Its dual humbucker pickups provide bold mid frequencies, supplying ample presence for crunchy and high-gain tones as well as generous warmth for clean tones."
  19. Analog Lab is perfect for primarily preset users, who are seeking sounds quickly to write a song with. But you are correct about deep editing, in that you would want the full V Collection for that capability.
  20. No problem. I'm on a budget until then, LOL!!! 🤣
  21. Analog Lab is a whole heap of great sounds for cheap! Well worth getting the full Lab. And don't miss the free sounds available, as you have already discovered! Analog Lab and Pigments were my gateway to the Arturia ecosystem, then I added Piano V that was bundled with a new controller. I eventually ended up with an offer to upgrade to the full V Collection 8 for $249. Couldn't pass that up!
  22. ... I agree. I am running a low end NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, which is plenty fine for what I do. It benchmarks with Passmarks's Performance Test 2D mark at 72% and 3Dmark at 63%, vs. the world (Percentile). @cclarryFree trial, with standard functions available after trial expires. https://www.passmark.com/products/performancetest/index.php
  23. By the way, as Greg has pointed out, the demo MIDI files are already available as "optional" downloads in your product downloads page.
  24. This thread has been closed. Suggest that you start a new thread in the Cakewalk forum, especially if you wish for the Cakewalk staff to see it!
  25. Myst and Obduction seem to use an amazing mix of music and *Foley to create that immersive 3D atmosphere of wonder, exploration and discovery! *Foley https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foley_(filmmaking)
