  1. Updated my earlier post with some new info!
  2. Just trying to save some of you lost souls from spending big bucks on a new synth, when all you may really need is the baby one...
  3. For a free synth? Bwahahahhahahhah!!! 🤣 Just buy me a coffee...
  4. https://u-he.com/products/zebracm/ ZebraCM: Baby zebra ZebraCM is a stripped-down version of Zebra2 with a selection of modules organised in a simple layout. Though smaller, ZebraCM is still an adept synthesizer with enough features to keep you busy before stepping up to the full experience of Zebra2. Please note: ZebraCM was commissioned by Computer Music magazine for their readers. It is only available via Computer Music, not from u-he.com or our resellers. User Guide: https://dl.u-he.com/manuals/plugins/zebracm/ZebraCM-user-guide.pdf Release Notes: https://u-he.com/products/zebracm/releasenotes.html August 10, 2021 ZebraCM 1.1.1 (revision 12185) Native M1 ARM support
  5. My link has been fixed. Somehow the CbB forum software mixed it up with my pic, because I posted the correct link initially via copy/paste. If you can access the CM magazines in my File Silo link, just select one of them to access the available CM downloads for that issue. Scroll down until you see "Download the NEW CM PLUGIN SUITE". Click "Download" on that item to begin the quiz. You will need access to that issue in order to answer the questions asked in the quiz, such as "what's the last word in the article on page xx".
  6. Zebra CM is free in the CM plugin suite if you can answer 3 questions here. https://www.filesilo.co.uk/ComputerMusic *Note: the updated NEW CM Plugin Suite is only available in CM#308 or later. Earlier issues only link to the older suite, which has an older release of ZebraCM. Edit: Woohoo! The ALL NEW ZebraCM 1.1.1 was released as a standalone download in CM#301 (although the suite wasn't updated until #308). Download here. No questions required!!! Don't tell anyone... https://www.filesilo.co.uk/software/free-plugin-all-new-zebra-cm-zip/
  7. The SM2 expansions are supposed to be compatible with SM3 when it is released, so that's a pretty good deal! Get all 37 SM2 expansion banks for $185 (37 x $5).
  8. Wow, thanks! That's a bunch of fixes! P.S. In case anyone besides me missed it, EZBass was also updated with a bunch of bug fixes to v1.1.5 on 2022-09-13. https://www.toontrack.com/release-notes/release-notes-ezbass/
  9. It's now $16.72. https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/4-Synth/7831-Memorymode
  10. You really won't need a lot beyond those two, in addition to your DAW of choice and a few select instruments, IMO!!!
  11. This new Live Sync and Multi Voice Output (Multi Midi Out) looks like a game changer! Scaler 2, the gift that keeps on giving! Need to spend a few weeks with it on my desert island now...
  12. This looks pretty cool when playing as the neon lines are animated. Turn down the lights when you play it...

  14. I haven't checked them, but I'm fairly certain they will for any "specials" that are still active. Feel free to explore! But you may have noticed that these "specials" are typically time-limited and eventually expire with no more serials handed out, even though you can often still access the serial request form. I tried a couple of Kilohearts plugins from a couple of years ago, and they were dead ends. So CM probably doesn't have to go back very far in the catalog to stop "cheaters".
  15. 3 questions that are multiple choice based on words from articles in the relevant CM issue. It works and takes you to the Computer music form, where you can request an emailed serial number from CM. So, subscribers only!!!
  16. That's a nice synth! For the CA Moogs, I've got that one and the Polymode. Also have the Moog 900-series modules for Voltage Modular on my wishlist. "With the sound, look, and feel that started it all, the Cherry Audio/MRB VM900 Collection delivers the audio and visual experience of the legendary Moog 900-series modules with spine-tingling impact and accuracy. Every detail has been expertly reproduced, for a virtual window into the halcyon days of early analog synthesis - Mark Barton’s (MRB) proprietary DSP coding reproduces each and every sonic nuance with unprecedented accuracy. The 26-module VM900-series collection has not been altered or updated to reflect modern trends - panel layouts and operation have been preserved in order to present a one-to-one early analog experience like no other. From oscillator drift to warm mixer overdrive to painstakingly reproduced panel art, it’s all there - the Cherry Audio/MRB VM900 Collection is simply a “must-have” module set for all purveyors of vintage analog synthesis!" https://store.cherryaudio.com/5/vm900-collection
  17. There can be no mistaking the clues... CS80!!! đź‘Ť
  18. And a point to takeaway here is that with CCRider you can modulate CC parameters of other instruments and FX hosted WITHIN Unify. But as @User 905133 has pointed out, his Voltage Modular solution allows you to send MIDI data to control another plugin in the DAW. Based on my testing, in order to send a MIDI CC to control another plugin hosted in the DAW outside of Unify would require a different approach from what is currently possible with Unify. I cannot see any way to route MIDI data out from Unify, even though the DAW indicates that the Unify plugin has a MIDI out port present. Perhaps it's there for future use?
  19. There are free sample packs released with every issue of Computer Music magazine. The download archive is here: https://www.filesilo.co.uk/ComputerMusic For example, there are 10,000 samples in this issue: https://www.filesilo.co.uk/computer-music-300/ The collections contain wave files of loops and one-shots of various instruments, styles, and genres. You will need a good sample manager program if you start collecting "free-range" samples. Check out the free ADSR Sample Manager: https://www.adsrsounds.com/product/software/adsr-sample-manager/ These samples can either be dragged as-is directly into an audio track on the DAW timeline, or imported into a soft synth or sampler that can play back and manipulate samples for recording into a track via a controller or virtual keyboard.
