Hummm, not sure why the round tip? I know what ya mean. I have been practicing on the StewMac build. Learned a lot from that. But when I tackled my custom build... I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I overcame all the trials and today the guitar is in the best shape it's ever been in since it was built-in the mid 80's. And I learned a lot!! Then I had enough confidence to level/recrown/polish the frets on my 92 G&L Legacy. And I am happy to say that that's been my best work so far. Really proud of that job. And now I have a Roasted Maple neck with a 12" radius coming in soon that will replace the 16"radius neck on the StewMac build. The 16" radius is just too flat. I don't like it and am not comfortable playing it. I have my 2 Epiphone guitars that have set-in necks. And I want to level/crown/polish those frets but I am still hesitant about it. Back on topic: Muta.......!!!

I can see that the varnish was very thick! Too thick. Did you do a "pre-cut" along the edge of the frets before pulling them up? Looks like you were doing a great clean job for most of the time.

I can see on the 21st fret that looks like a little cracking. Is that the spot that got all the language going?

I have an old Alverez that I paid $150 back in the 80's. Still plays like a dream and sounds great. The action on it has always been the best of any acoustic guitar I have. And I love my 12 string Taylor. Like you said, it's just got something about it that I fell in love with immediately. I got it for a steal too!!

Nice guitars Tim. That Taylor really steals the show. With the Epi coming in a close second. But that Alverez has my interest more than the others. Nice design they got there.

A good drill press, and a good heavy table to work off of with a really good vise attached with enough space to walk around it AND to have enough headroom. I am not asking for much!! Nice saw and planer btw. I have my PartsCaster almost finished. I just ordered a new Roasted Maple neck for it. I will have to shape the headstock when I get it in. I have been meaning to write a short post on the subject to let everyone know how my adventure turned out. Problem with that is getting the story short!! And it seems the story isn't really over yet!! I have so many new tools as a result of this build. I have been eyeing one of those saws too. But right now I don't have a pressing need. That may change.

That's a sweet place to make some music!! I really like that view. The wife and I were looking to downsize recently and went through some misgivings about if we really wanted to do all what your talking about; packing, getting house ready to sell, doing the move, unpacking, getting settled in... We saw some properties with big buildings/sheds and more land than we have now. Like you my mind was racing about what kind of studio/guitar repair I could do in there!! In the end we realized that when we fix our present home up to sell we would fall in love with it again! So we decided to stay put and fix it up! LOL!! Good luck on the new adventure!!

I am sorry Bit. I didn't know this small, but very important, detail. I was speaking like the drummer had no other ties to the group other than being a drummer. Knowing that changes my whole opinion. Yeah, you can program as many drum machines as you want until your blue in the face, it won't be the same. Hope the meds help him pull through the gigs. And I hoe your brownie ride goes as planed!!

Thanks for the video Craig. The way he pronounced it in French was exactly how my other aunts and uncles called him. I always thought they were saying "And Ya-ss". Hearing him say the word... that was a wow moment for me!! All my cousins and I just always called him Uncle Ya-ss. Man.. the things I learn around here!!

How would you pronounce this word? I had an uncle with that name. He pronounced his name like this: "Ya' - ss". Like saying "Yacht" but with "es" sound instead of "ta" at the end. I have heard people pronounce it "Ig - nuss." Out of all my long years, I have never even heard of another man named Ignace.

Hope your drummer makes it bit. Sounds like you need to get programming a drum machine. I'm with That's the bottom line. You never know bit, there maybe a young drummer that's been watching ya'll from afar and just waiting for a chance to prove himself. Until that happens the drum machine will work. Not as well as your old drummer that's for sure, but it can work. If ya'll want it to.
