  1. I agree with you, I thought the same thing.
  2. This is off the top of my head.... Reach out to local tv stations "Action Reporter" in his area and tell them the story and where we at and how we'd love to give the money to his family as he intended it to be.
  3. After I bought the GK bass amp, a lot of amp sims were $29, but not all of them. Guitar tone is very subjective. But I like the Fuchs Overdrive Supreme too.
  4. Back on up... Still with hope...
  5. I got into IK when Cakewalk offered the Classic Studio Reverb at a discount. Fell in love with the sound of those reverbs. Still use them today. Then I got into Amplitude. Loved the clean sound it had. (By this time I already had Guitar Rig and Gear Box Gold. No usable clean in them) Now I have Amplitude 5 and am really enjoying the heck out of it. Then I got T Racks to upgrade the CSR to 64bit and really fell in love with the sound of the Neve sims. Haven't looked back since. If you do not want to use these plugs, don't. You can find just as good in another company. You might even find them cheaper. Me, I'm sticking with what I got. If your new to IK, wait for the big sale on the Total Studio Max sale. You will make out like a bandit.
  6. Love IK plugins for the PC. I bought almost all IK plugins (90%) at a discount. In the majority of those cases that I bought at a discount, I was allowed to use JamPoints (they are not useless) to discount even further. I wanted the Larsen plugin, but was not gonna pay that price. Took a while to go on a good sale, but I finally got it. And it's really nice. Worth every penny I paid for it. I want that Organ too!! And it will go on sale. And I will get it. (Waited to get the Leslie on sale too, and it's also really nice!) The only thing I can remember paying full price for is the Mesa Collection. And I have used it since day one. Love it. The mk lV with the open back cab is my go to. But I got say... sometimes IK just got me wondering "WTF are they doing in that marketing dept!!?" [Edit] forgot to say the only reason IK survives is that their plugins are just that good!!
  7. Yeah I looked for the spending limit/amount and could not find any info on it. Checked my account and it does appear that since last Feb 2020, I had not spent more that about 30-40 dollars with them. Seems Black Friday till Christmas of 2019 was my last big purchases. I want to give a shout out to the wizard who magically dropped a code in my lap!! Thanks again!!
  8. And if you are using the TT Installer, it should let you know which ones you have.
  9. I don't get vouchers anymore. Still spend some with them. Just don't know why I quit getting them. Maybe they got tired of me dogging them? How much ya gotta spend to get any voucher?
  10. Hope he enjoys it Rocky. Let us know how it goes.

    Asus GTX 1030 $95

Yes they have. Gone up stupidly IMO. Thanks for the link. Will take a look.
  12. I think those days are gone. I remember Best Service saying they would raise the price for these 6pk. And I bought EZK and EZD midi packs before they went up. This is the cheapest I have seen in a while.

    Asus GTX 1030 $95

I didn't see that code Larry!! Reading the reviews it looks to be a good card. I might jump on this. I am using (for the very first time) a built in graphics on my i7. I have run across several problems with certain software not compatible with the built in Intel GPU. However, not that big a deal. And this new pc is very quiet. Quietest I ever had. And I don't want to mess that up. Hummm......

Newegg SDOTD https://www.newegg.com/asus-geforce-gt-1030-ph-gt1030-o2g/p/N82E16814126209?item=N82E16814126209 This must be a new line by nVidia. I don't ever remember seeing a xx30 series before.

  16. Agreed. That card would be great for a while. If he is gaming at 1080 he could have all the eye candy he wants. IOW, all graphic settings turned up all the way!! Also that CPU ain't no slouch!!
  17. And people are paying this much? Crazy for sure.
  18. I bought my son ( who is an adult) a 980TI for Christmas and birthday together for around $550. They want over $800 for that same card now!!!
  19. Wow!! I had no idea video cards had gone up that damn much!! A 1050TI is $500!! Good greif!!!
  20. Yes. Especially if your trying to do it at any resolution above 1080. But a decent system can be had for around $600 that can run most (except the most demanding) games released in the past two - three years if you stick with 1080 resolution with a decent (GTX 1060) video card. If he doesn't need the extra eye candy, you can get by cheaper.
  21. I would have to disagree here. I believe a PC offers a better experience in the long run. He will use that PC for more than just gaming.
  22. Maximum PC has some articles in it that I will try to remember to look up for you. They have low, medium, and high priced gaming rigs you can build. I know you don't build, but that gives you a very good starting and ending point as references. For a good gaming pc you wanna go with at least a 1060 nVidia GPU. AMD GPU's are good too. I just don't know off hand what the equivalent model number would be. And Jim's advise above is spot on.
  23. Yes that is much clearer to me now. So, if I bought the bundle with a LE version in it, I could not upgrade to the full version at an upgrade cost? I would have to pay full price? Still sounds like IK BS to me.
