  1. Thanks to everyone for listening and for the Fantastic comments . You always keep me motivated. To @emeraldsoul These are the types of suggestions I am looking for. Thanks , I'll look real close at the vocal drops. No cigars .. I actually used a mahogany Starrett caliper box for this , but if anyone is interested you can buy some Really nice and cheap boxes from Atlantic Cigar co. To Tom @DeeringAmpsI'll post a jpeg of the build if I ever figure out how. I built one of those Cajon drum boxes at the same time. Now it's a nice amp stand. Thanks .. mark
  2. Hello , just finished this collaboration with my ex bandmate Rick Kimbrough who grew up on Hickory lake in Hendersonville Tenn. All crits an suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Weapons - Godin LaPatrie,Takamine Ltd,Fender jazz(Rick) and a homemade cigar box lap steel,Fender mandolin,SI drums. Thanks ..mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/old-hickory-lake
  3. That was Very well written and performed. I really liked the chorus with all the harmony. Sounded a little Beatles like to me. I thought the wah guitar could have used a little reverb depth but other than that I thought it was Fantastic . mark
  4. Bjorn , I actually saw the movie recently on Svengoolie. Good but kinda dry without mood music. That was a great idea and creative on your part , and you now can say you did the music for a Dracula movie .. I'll bet there are a bunch of downloadable silent films to use.. Great job .. mark

    Gloss eq

Does anyone know what freq(s) the Gloss button enhances in the gloss eq module. mark
  6. Tom , as usual , Great guitar work and vocals. I also liked the keys , the TTS sounded good and I liked the way you played it hitting , the full chords instead of walking the notes. Great job on a great song , Love the blues .. mark
  7. Mark , Incredible Job! and Fantastic vocals. All the midi sounded like well played instruments. Fantastic mix except for the drums (totally agree with Tom) Just grab that drum buss and jack it up till' your head starts bobbing. mark
  8. I got to play with one of those Tonewood acoustic fx amps mounted on a Yari I used to own this weekend. Very cool device. The effect preset that sounded the best to me was Tremolo together with delay. The natural sound of this guitar with the effect coming out of the sound hole was awesome. Never even thought about using this fx combination on an acoustic. Something new to try .. mark
  9. Paul , that was Massive difference in the mix! It's a lot clearer sounding and the energy doubled. One thing to be aware of is adding a little extra silence after a fade out if you're reducing the bpm The streaming services are pretty bad about clipping the end off of one. Great job .. mark
  10. Enjoyed hearing that again . Great song and good job covering it. I always played in acoustic harmony bands and did a tremendous amount of CSN(Y), America, Poco etc .. That took me back mark
  11. I'm sure seeing a "Lot" of new members lately .
  12. Gary , What a performance ! You didn't just sing this one you really meant it. First half of the song I was impressed by how "Silky" your voice is , but by the 2nd half I got caught up in the way you let the emotion shine thru without trying to edit it out. Good call .. Can't comment on the mix , I was too involved listening to the vocals , it worked for me. Fantastic job my friend .. mark
  13. I really liked the groove of this and you did a great job on the vocals. Don't listen to rap but I think you did a cross genre on this one , enjoyed it , Good job. mark ps.. "wash away" needs posting.
  14. An easy way I've found to solve this is to output the vocal track I'm recording to the interface (instead of Master) Then just turn down the master fader until all the other tracks aren't overpowering. My interface direct monitoring is on. The volume knob adjusts the vocals , the master fader adjusts the backing tracks. Vocal track back to master and master fader back to 0 when I'm done.
  15. Excellent ! I'd love to hear this cut in half with some high airy female vocals.. mark
  16. Go to views/synth rack. When the synth rack opens click the + button. Hover over "insert synth" with your mouse and it will show you all the synths you have available.
  17. Very interesting and nicely done. I use a cello on All types of music , in this context the instrument itself sounds like it can somberly weep. Enjoyed it .. mark
  18. Groovy! Great job on the vocals .. I believe you captured the groove of pre disco. I would try and speed it up 1 or 2 bpm , a little can go a long way .. ms
  19. Very nicely done. I really liked the Blade Runner feel it was picking up in spots. I'm going to take a close look at Heavyocity for sure. Enjoyed it ... mark
  20. There's not a basic volume adjustment tool in the essentials version. I have zoomed in real close and seen the blobs turn into midi note blocks like you would see in prv. I've never tried it but it might be worth a try to see if you could adjust the volume on these blocks like in prv. ms
  21. If SI drums are installed and being scanned they should show up from the synth rack view. click add soft synth , SI drums should show up in the drums option. TTS also has drums (channel 10).

    voice overwriting?

I always use sound on sound/takes on single lane/ reuse lane/ new takes on top. Never have a problem with not being able to find or edit notes that I can hear but can't see. ms
  23. You have to send them to a synth "Before" bouncing them to one common track. They can't be converted without the synth. You would probably be better off sending all the midi tracks on separate channels to the synth. You could then make any adjustments later if you wanted to. You could then "freeze" the synth and choose "hide midi tracks" during the freeze. You will end up with a single track with all 3 midi tracks included. Easily unfreeze for adjustments. With each midi track you can adjust volume and panning before freezing. Every time I bounce to tracks I wish I wouldn't have. Can't make any changes during the final mix or mastering stages.. mark
  24. Hello to all , the original link is now a remix. I did a Lot of work on the drums and all lower freq. Rerecorded the bass and did a small vocal boost. The vocals were cutting thru better with all the mud out of the lows even though it's still pretty bassy. Thanks for all the Great suggestions you really helped me improve this.
  25. Brandon , I was assuming these were audio tracks. I just opened a project that only has midi using 2 different synths. I soloed both synths and went to the Tracks drop down and clicked bounce to tracks. (I'm working in the regular tracks view window) It opened a dialogue box with a destination track already chosen. All the boxes were checked for stereo , entire mix etc. Clicked bounce and the audio from both synths were merged together on the new destination track. Don't have a clue why your's isn't working .. mark
