1. hi andy! thanks so much for the comments yes, heavy sustain. the mesa boogie mark IIb head, pushed with a Barber Direct Drive Super Sport was the chain for the solo tones. steve hackett is a great player, i've always loved his early stuff, and used to have his Voyage of the Acolyte on vinyl. interested player for sure!
2. just posted an updated mix.

"High Time"

I HAVE UPDATED this mix, brought up the percussion, and bass line. interested to see how it comes across now.
4. hey thanks jack! appreciate it. the tones on this one, were all mesa boogie captures thru a Palmer PDI-09 direct. long before i got the strymon iridium.
5. https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/track/allans-resolve *Allan’s Resolve - this song winds up the album, and is all instrumental. It is dedicated to allan holdsworth. live drum tracks from Brent Dacus.(D/FW area)

thanks steve! this one was mostly recorded in one day, the main rhythm guitar i just free played, then went back and started layering more tracks, did the percussion track, THEN did the bass track. wrote some lyrics in about 15 minutes, and spent an hour doing vocal tracking. one of my quickest recordings, for sure.
7. thanks so much tom, i appreciate the support!
8. HI RIK! thanks for listening! yea, lots of twists, for sure.. funny, flexable, i bought that way back when, before passion and warfare, and i thought 'yep, you can hear the zappa influence right away!' but really, it was similar, but parallel to zappa, IMHO. the strymon, is just dead easy to use. i spend ZERO time setting up tones, and end up digging all of them. since then, i've gotten a bit more dialed in with the choice of IR's i use, makes the biggest difference. most of the solo tones, are miced up mesa boogie with a Barber Direct Drive pushing it.

thanks so much cakeboy yea, melody is the thing on this one. the riffs are melodies, the fills are melodies, the whole thing just drives that idea home, simple, but tricky with arrangement. sometimes, these things just happen, this is one of em.

it's funny, that Seagull Artist Mosaic, i used for some of the tracks on this one, smelled so bad of cigarettes when i first bought it (pawn shop, $125 with a semi-soft case) that it has taken about 5 years for the smell to go away. LOL i bought it as a 'banger' guitar, to take to the desert... but hell, the cedar top sounds so smooth against the bright spruce top, it's a great sound blender. 11. wow, nice, was hoping this would be exactly the way it is. thanks steve! rip DB

https://batsbrew.bandcamp.com/track/high-time *High Time - one of my favorites on the album, the lyric for this one poured out in about a half hour. boom, done. it's meant to be fun and uplifting. reminds me of a roadtrip i once took, i imagine a lot of folk can relate to this one. Taylor 414 and Seagull Mosaic on this one, miced by ADK Hamburg and Shure KSM44.
13. one of my very best arrangements, lots of ear candy, wanna bump this, one last time
14. the plexi tones, by the way, are from a Strymon Iridium
15. Thank you jack! Thanks, The guitars on this are tele and strat with humbuckers thru Marshall plexi and mesa boogie mkiib head into a avatar 1x12 with celestion heritage speaker The trick is the Barber Direct Drive Super Sport pedal driving the amps, and tightening of the low end
