I love that elegant approach. Used it recently in a mix and I will be using it all the time from here on out.

Bummer this week. My TK Audio BC-501 Stereo Bus Compressor stated acting funny. The left output was consistently 6-10db louder than the right. Since I feed this BC with a pair of L/R Tape emus I thought they were at fault. Swapped them out with known working units feed another Bus Compressor. No love with new tape emu son TK Audio and the old tape emus on the other Bus Compressor.

I bought this used for about $664 out the door from ebay. It was manufactured in 2017 so I hope it's not too expensive to repair. Sent it off today. A brand new one is $1099.00 as is about all the 500 series stereo bus compressors (SSL is $1299).

  2. We live in a house that as originally built in the 50s with a breezeway between the house and the garage.

The main house was originally (maybe) 650 sq ft (1 BR, 1 bath, small kitchen, living room). It the 80s it was  upgraded with an additional 1389 sq ft. So, the house is listed with the county as 2039 sq ft (now a 3 BR, 2 Bath, larger kitchen, new family room and the same living room).

Then someone converted the breezeway into a room (18' x 15') and then someone else converted the garage into a carpeted and insulated room and sealed off the garage door into a solid wall.

Like Bitflipper, my studio and day job workstation is 400 sq ft.  The wife works in the breezeway office.

  3. I'm a ProTools Studio (perpetual) owner. I bought it on sale for like $249 IIRC. I have maintenance paid for until 15 September 2027 (got three years at an astonishingly low sale price).

For me it's mostly meh, for now.

I'll probably never record or mix (again) in ProTools. I'm a die hard Studio One user these days.

Turned out what I got was 2 hours of wind noise with some music under it.

It's got my vote for the longest rendition of "The Wind Cries Mary" evah!

This has some serious mojo. Won't pull any sales away from Taylor Swift, but could have a cult following. I agree the cymbals are a bit overpowering in the beginning, but I forgot about that as the song moved on. I don't know the original. The octave vocals give it some mystical feeling. This is good.

@Michael Richards The mix has been updated in the OP (on Soundcloud).
