I had a PortaTwo back in the day.  Miss my FSK time code 4 track synced to Cubase on the Atari!

I did not FSK time code sync until I got a Tascam 80-8. 7 pristine tape audio tracks and 'unlimited' MIDI tracks in Voyetra Sequencer Plus Gold.

Porta One was record-bounce-repeat until all I got was mush!

Until you lose it or it break it and I wonder if you don't have WUP if they would even reset for you (yes I'm sure you in particular have WUP)

PA gives the same option with three USB sticks at a time.

My Waves is on the same stick as PA.

WRT to losing or break it. I realize it's much smaller that my cell phone but I've never lost or broken any of my cell phones since my first on in the early 90s.

Buy yeah, that's always a possibility. However, I mostly jest about using my license on multiple computers, I'm a home hobbyist and do not have any commercial clients so at least it's not likely to be stolen. Now to be damaged the roof would need to cave in right above my DAW then crush the top tier of my desc to get eben close to where the stick is stored.

Now fire I can't control. The last time we evacuated for a fire I grabbed my most precious bass guitars, my DAW computer, my USB and iLok sticks and my NAS drives. Hopefully if it has to happen again I will once more have the time repeat that performance.

  3. I was curious so I looked up prices:

Fractal Axe FX III Turbo = $2500
    3 EV-1 expression pedals = $420
    FC-12 Foot Controller = $800
    =========================
Total $3720, still that is a heck of lot easier than lugging around a 2 4x12 Marshall stack I imagine.

I'll stick with this (since I don't even really play guitar)

And for Bass, I'll stick with this.

I've since sold my two VOX AC30's and my HUGE bass stack.

Paired down to one 1x12 15w/1w guitar amp and an ACOUSTIC (RESEARCH) B50C combo for light in studio jamming. No more blast to the max.

If they ever go back to just perpetual licences, I'd most likely be a Pro Fool again ?

Um, maybe not perpetual only but you can still buy a new perpetual license Pro Tools Studio Perpetual

And, since I was already in perpetual, when the chite hit the fan, they reverted back to offering perpetual licenses, they said all existing (under maintenance) are still perpetual.

Agreed. ProTolls is probably not even 20% of all AVID products.

That said, as long as my perpetual license remains valid I will continue with annual Maintenace fee of $199 or less. If maintenance fees rise too high, I may just freeze wherever I left off. ProTolls is like 3rd or 4th on my most used DAWs.
