  1. Looks like 7 is completely updated also .. or maybe I had not looked in a while. I also noticed all my 7 activations were dumped and have to reactivate again EDIT - my activations back again
  2. Linkeeee https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/bx_digital_v3.html Use your voucher code - BXD-V3-3999 - to drop to the $39.99 price
  3. Also works in INTRO And again if you have INTRO or i think at this stage LITE you can use in Cakewalk via the Reason Synth Rack plugin ( no need to have Reason open )
  4. Interesting .. here in Ireland, I get This site can’t be reached - dmgaudio.com refused to connect.
  5. Waves Scheps Omni Channel is $32.37 at everyplugin: https://everyplugin.com/scheps-omni-channel.html
  6. Absolutely. A steal at that price. $30ish instead of $199 and better if you have codes for everyplugin etc https://everyplugin.com/cla-mixhub.html This is a quick BIO so to speak: "Plugins normally work on only one channel at a time. CLA MixHub is the first plugin to work in buckets – groupings of up to 8 channels, in up to 8 buckets in total. In other words, you can mix up to 64 channels from one CLA MixHub plugin window. By mixing tracks side by side in the MixHub’s buckets, you’ll gain a mixing perspective that lets you immediately hear how one track’s processing affects others within a song." Have a look at this vid on its usage/review:
  7. I am a happy camper with this now. What i was looking for plus alot more I did not know about Outside of the sidechain thing it allows you to mix multiple tracks in "Buckets" Also has INSERT section for other Waves EFX Price normally - $199
  8. Just did that and phoenix into the bargain - worked out with virtual cash for €24
  9. @Starship Krupa OK, adjusted the topic subject line to reflect what you mentioned .. make it more generalised
  10. This looks VERY interesting for mixing, mastering and sidechaining: https://everyplugin.com/cla-mixhub.html - $25.89 with coupon at Every
  11. Thanks @jesse g At everyplugin I note these: https://everyplugin.com/catalogsearch/advanced/result/?description=&ilok_required=&manufacturer[0]=6&name=compressor&p=2&price[from]=&price[to]=&short_description=&sku=&supply_time= So many .. I would take it one should be looking for Internal/external sidechain With respect to the LMC+ .. you recommend in this regard? And vs the Waves stuff
  12. As the title says. Which compressor is worth buying for general Compressor usage and stuff like SIDE CHAINING/Ducking? And that works in Cakewalk? NOT ALL HAVE EXTERNAL SIDE CHAINING I dont think? Added it here in Deals as I do mention BUYING and maybe there are ones on a deal that others have here worth considering
  13. Interesting you should mention IZOTOPE on clips. I originally had IZOTOPE vst on a few of the tracks efx slot. This gave me an odd issue when i was rendering the track out to wav ( export ) .. resultant wav was all whistles at different pitches ( like a dodgy hearing aid ). So I instead added IZOTOPE EFX to the clips instead of in the track slot and that solved that problem. Export worked fine and Izotope effect worked also in the clip. As you said the issue in this thread is transient and hard to repeat .. but one wonders is it certain EFX causing this
  14. @Jimlau A few posts below yours I posted about not being able to save but getting GENERAL ERROR. https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/31227-when-trying-to-save-a-project-i-get-general-error-which-stops-me-from-saving-no-detail/ Im just adding this here wondering does the workaround I found solve your issue too. Before hitting save, temp turn off the audio engine .. Does it save now?
  15. However I sometimes wonder as an alt to Normalising .. one could bring a lowish vol wav into Soundforge and simply use the increase volume feature, sparingly .. then after that into CW and through Gain push up another small bit
  16. Here are 2 articles on the Normalise thing How To Normalize Audio – Why Do It? Everything You Need To Know 10 Myths About Normalization ( from 2008 )
  17. For decades, back to 90s I have used SOUNDFORGE for my Audio editing https://www.magix.com/index.php?id=24061&L=52&AffiliateID=177&phash=vlRep1GVx8SCLu7F&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5uWGBhCTARIsAL70sLL9klu9pvR_ZS2QOsAOkr07ZQSURRKjeTycu68AgUFmYYPm_OkSxTEaAloZEALw_wcB Before you go HOW MUCH ... just keep an eye on the Humble Bundles. Quiet often they have audio bundles that include earlier versions of Soundforge, the whole bundle inc Soundforge coming to the princely sum of about $20. I ended up with Soundforge Pro 12 that way and thats what I use. I also have successfully used Soundforge to drop the vol of peaks in a very zoomed in version of a wav file. Result is you dont hear any difference in the wav file after except no peak. I also use it sometimes if say a vocal line recorded by vocalist has paper shuffles or noises between the vocal lines. I use soundforge to silence these parts. Of course the cases I outline above are when its almost impossible to get a rerecord and one has to work with the copy you have I edit the audio file inside the audio files folder of the Cakewalk Project. Of course make a backup before hand of the unedited versions if you want to fall back I would say the same could be achieved with the FREE AUDACITY audio editor BUT for me its Sound Forge all the way
  18. I have steinberg plugs installed BUT not using them in this track. Dont think they use syncrosoft copy protection. I have the Library assistant and download assistant installed is all. No autosave not being used. In advanced prefs set to 0
  19. @Glenn Stanton NO .. we download all files locally before using. Only use cloud ( onedrive ) to pass back and forth in different countries
  20. Maybe once or twice a week .. BUT what I will do is keep a record from here. Twice yesterday BUT I took a punt on turning off the Audio Engine after the error occurred and the save then works The track where it is currently happening is mainly AUDIO/WAVs being sent back and forth to me from band members via cloud. As someone else mentioned it seems to happen in track heavy projects. This project currently has 28 AUDIO Tracks, some frozen as they had efx like guitarrig. Outside of that, generally the izotope stuff like Ozone, Neutron ..
  21. Thanks guys. I had completely forgotten the Track Folders feature. That sorted my initial Q about ORGANISING. But I am glad to see the thread has expanded into general mixing and busing real drum parts etc. I would be a bit of a novice here in this regard ( Im a guitarist ) .. I also would have used loops in general. Via pandemic and lockdowns and the cloud way of working it had a surprising thing of getting the old band back together virtually ( some are in other parts of the world ). In this case the Drummer is in the US, am here in Ireland. He sent me all separate drum part tracks and yes snare, bass are in stereo .. All recorded in Protools. He has his own small studio with his kit mic'ed up for recording One thing I did do with each part wav was into Soundforge first and normalised -16db because the recorded tracks were a bit low in vol for my licking. It didnt create any issues with extra "air", hiss etc. As an aside anyone use sidechaining tween bass and bass drum?
  22. Thats the thing @Noel Borthwick ... its very random and not consistent. So hard to reproduce. The only sure way of sorting it is to turn off the audio engine when saving IF that general error pops up
  23. Yip @scook .. It seems i put it in wrong place, It would appear to be a long time bug. So for historical purposes in case others have this issue I thought it best to put it in its own thread
  24. @Andris Rinkis @Noel Borthwick Apologies for posting above about this GENERAL ERROR I get when saving .. I thought it may be related to recent updates but seems not. So I started its own thread over in the General Cakewalk by Bandlab section which is probably more appropriate:
