  1. Thanks Old Joad! I am very glad that you liked it and I very much appreciate the kind words.
  2. Hi Nigel. Thanks very much for the kind words. It might be a bad season this year and I am not looking forward to it. However, as the song says "... this is the land that we love". Even though Barbados is in the same situation as the Gulf coast states --- I imagine that spending time there would be would be more than the risk of a hurricane or two. Hey tom. I always appreciate that you listen and comment. Thanks!! I would definitely vote for a hurricane with a few days warning. We have already started loading up on potable water and non perishable food items. I am glad that you enjoyed "Bad Rumour". I posted that a very long time ago when I knew absolutely nothing about mixing. All though I am still handicapped in that regard, one of these days I am going to have to search for the working files and dress it up a bit. Thanks again! Hey Jesse. Thanks pal. Words of wisdom. BTW, luv what you did, on the song Gun, with the old tracks that I sent you. Hi John B. It looks like hurricanes might be having more impact along the east coast of North America that usual. Given the reality of global climate change I guess unusual weather is becoming the norm. The style of this song is definitely out of my usual bluesabilly genre. However, every once in a while one just has to try a different path --- if for nothing else but just for a bit of variety. Thanks for listening and the kind words. Hi Steve. What you say is very interesting. It was not my intent in developing this song. However, I hear what you are saying and I believe that there is merit in it. The right performer and scaled down arrangement might just work. The lyrics are somewhat introspective and the scaled down version might add to that feel. Thanks very much for the input!

What an absoflippinlutely pleasant song. Great lyrics, vocals, instrumentation and production. Love the "traveling" (I don't know how else to describe it) sound of the bass. The mix sounds good -- it probably is my cheap equipment but the guitar panned left was a wee bit loud. Really good stuff pal! BTW - luv the title.
  4. Nice one! A tragic event!!! Not one of our country's finest moments in history.
  5. Nice one indeed! Some good advice was offered above that might polish it up to an excellent song!

    it's your move

Very cool! A bit different from you. I love the way that you have the drums panned. Being a nut for rhythm, I really really enjoyed that driving rhythm. Interesting lyrics and I like the melodic/talking presentation of the vocals. Ya, very cool!
  7. If we are in all places at the same time we must be following the principle of super-positioning. From what I understand, it is the observer that determines at what point in time-space the observation takes place and therefore, determines what is seen (or in this case what is heard). You know, similar to Schrodinger's cat. Therefore, I can say from my perspective that I thoroughly enjoyed my aural observation of your latest musical creation. It certainly has a very "big sky" sound to it . What a great culmination to the Warp series. BTW, love the ending! I can't wait for the next series!
  8. Hi Tom. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your suggestions and have taken notes that I can use when I re-address this song. You probably are correct about the timing of the echos. In some of the background passages (particularly toward the ending) I was trying to create some subtle chaotic sounds. When hurricane Charley passed just a few miles north of where I live, I remember briefly looking out the windows (safe up to 150 mph winds) and observing the rain which was almost horizontal, the trees were blowing in almost every direction and when I looked out of the back window the pool had little waves, and the wee, little lake behind us was a chaotic scene of waves crashing into each other. I tried to put just a tiny bit of that in the background of the song. Thanks again! Hey Jack C. Thanks for listening and for your suggestions. Notes taken -- to be used when I can get back to the song to make corrections. Thanks again! Hi Bjorn. Thanks for the kind comments. My explanation to Tom above might explain what I was trying to subtly do with the delay (perhaps a futile effort). I doubt that Jimmy Buffet would have time for me. Maybe I'll have my people call his people ?? I have never been in the eye of a hurricane and don't want to be. However, I have been close to some that have passed by (fortunately most on the east side of the storm) and even though the winds were not Category 4 the low Category 3 and Category 2 have winds that are quite enough for me. Thanks for listening. Hey Paul. Thanks very much for listening and for the kind words. I have never been in a point on direct hit but have been in a few uncomfortably close ones. And yes I have finally gone an bought a generator for those days without electricity. Thanks again! Hi Douglas. Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I appreciate the encouragement. At least with hurricanes, you have a few days notice to decide to get out of town or stay and take a chance of a direct hit.
  9. Hi Paul! Thanks very much for the kind comments. I am very glad that you enjoyed it! Hi David. I very much appreciate your taking the time to listen and comment. Actually the crowd sounds were actual recorded sounds at some bar in Vancouver, B.C. I found them along time ago and held on to them thinking that they might come in handy some day.
  10. I dunno - I liked the bass just fine. Wonderful melodies, arrangement and lyrics that were delivered with pure honesty. Good stuff pal!

    Precious Time

As per usual this is an excellent song. Your vocals are brilliant!
  12. Jesse -- I thought that you would have tossed out those tracks that I sent you. Doggone if you went on and made something ultra-cool with them, your additions, and your wonderful creativity. Real gone man -- it is so cool it's hot!
  13. This is a very polished pop ready production. Your vocals and harmonies were wonderful. Very good work indeed!

    Warp 9

As per usual another wonderful extra terrestrial aural adventure. Great sounds - I enjoyed the trip!

    With Being

What is not to like about this song? Love the bass, the sax (?), lyrics (relatable), and of coarse the "languid" vocals. It has that easy beat of the islands which really carries it along. Very nice work indeed!
  16. Tomorrow begins the start of the 2021 hurricane season. Much to my chagrin the number 6 storm of the season will be called Fred. That can't be good!!! All of this prompted me to drag up a song that I posted on the Forum a very long time ago. I listened and it was pretty rough. Therefore, I tried to fix it up a bit and hopefully it now sounds a bit better than it did. I am posting it now in hopes that it might deflect any bad vibes and keep those of us along the Gulf Coast safe. I would appreciate it if you might give it a listen and would also appreciate any comments, crit's, suggestions, etc. that you may have. Thanks! 17. Another treat from Jesse, et al to enjoy. Keep 'em coming pal!
  18. Excellence seems to be your norm! I loved the driving sound/feel of this song and the video was perfect for the music. Excellent performances by all, and great editing and mix! What a treat to view and listen to.

    Monkees cover

The much maligned Monkees did put out some good songs. I also remember this song. Excellent job on this. Great playing on this and I love the clear, clean sound of those guitars. I agree with Jesse above, your vocals are very good and could come forward a bit. Good mix -- well done!

    Celestial

The music is perfectly complemented by the visuals (or visa versa). This would be perfect music which to listen after a rough day! Beautiful work Bjorn.
  21. Great jazzy feel to this song! I tend to agree with the comments above about the drums. Perhaps some nice brushes substituted?? I didn't notice any sloppy but if there were it only added to intimacy of the song (IMHO). Very nice work indeed !

    Warp 8

I don't know at what warp speed I was traveling or where I was in time or space but I almost missed this one. That would have been a doggone shame! I am glad that my super-positioning brought me to this song. Your tones and textures were woven into a wonderful laid-back aural adventure. Very nice indeed!!!
  23. Hi Bjorn. I'm very glad that you liked it! Having never been a "real" paid musician, I garner that it can be a rather cut-throat business. Thanks for the kind comments. Hey Makke. Thanks very much for the kind words. Thanks also for taking the time to listen and comment!!! Hello Nigel. Thanks very much for the very kind words. Coming from a pro like you, can I assume that the mission of mimicking a small venue performance was accomplished (or nearly so) ☺️ ? Your kind comments are very much appreciated!! Thanks again!! Hi Douglas: That's perfect! That was the intent of the song. That is to create a mental image of a small venue performance. Thanks for the kind words!!! Hey Lynn! Given that I sent you some pretty raw stuff --- you really cleaned it up and made it sound doggone presentable and very good. I appreciate the hard work that you put in to this. It was a complete pleasure working on this with you. Thanks pal!!!! Hi Jesse. How are you? Loved you recent post (I commented). Actually for me this was not work but a pleasure and fun. I'm very glad that you felt like you were there for this mental image performance (wha?) Hopefully, there will be more collab's down the road! Hi Hidden Symmetry. Being a gerontologically (sp?) challenged (old) person, I tend to reach back to the old Blues/R 'n R style (which I love) and Lynn dressed it up and brought it into the 21st century. I'm glad that you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words.

    Blood Bath

Don't know why but I always feel better when I hear a Jesse-tune. Cool stuff!
  25. This is an interesting incorporation of a bit of hip-hop in this song. Great music and visual that complement each other. Very nice stuff indeed!
