  1. My last post was a song about the loss of a love. This song is a continuation of this saga where the subject of this song finds real love and it's right next door. It is silly, Bluesy, and fun. Again I am trying to emulate a wee bit of the Jimmy Reed style. I hope that you like it. As always I would appreciate any comments, crit's and comments Thanks and I hope you enjoy. HELLO MR. BYE BYE BABY

Hi Tom, Thanks much for listening and commenting. I am always grateful for your support and suggestions! Hi David. Thanks for listening and for your comments and suggestion. I do have difficulties in mixing and recording vocals. Back in the old days of the forum I was constantly encouraged to cut back on the use of reverb used on the vocals. I tend to respond with over indulgence in the extreme. I'll keep on working on it and hopefully reach a balance. Again thanks! Hey Old Joad. Thanks very much for the listen and kind comments! Hi Treesha. I love doing the 1940's -1950's style Blues. Not just because I am a Bluesahoclic but it is a fun music to play (even if you have got the blues). Thanks for your kind comments and for listening. Hey KSband. Thanks very much for listening and your kind comments. Hey Nigel. I am very glad that you liked this Bluesabilly number. As B B King once said -- even the Blues can be happy music. I really appreciate your kind words and encouragement. BTW, I really enjoyed and was impressed by your last posting! I hope the album is doing well. Hi Steve. Thanks much for the input and kind words. ( bit of trouble on the double tracking ? Yes indeed! I love playing but recording and mixing is not my strength. I'll blame it all on my growing up listening to all those scratchy, LoFi R & B and Blues numbers.🫠 Thanks again. Hi Bjorn. Other than the need for some musical skills , I think that my use of loop/clips for drums gives me problems. I have tried the Cakewalk drums, addictive drums, and others. However to me they just don't sound like the acoustic drums that you might hear in a small club venue. You know -- the kind of place that you would go to to hear some good local Blues. Although, I'm sure those MIDI type drums would probably help my timing. BTW I enjoyed your recent post with video!
  3. I almost missed your post. This was a fun post to listen and watch. It sounds as if you had fun doing this. Well done!!!
  4. I too must join the list of those who have not seen the show. I must say i did enjoy what have posted here. Well done!
  5. This is a great song. I wish I could only handle a slide as good as you are playing on this song. The performances are great, the mix is good, and you have captured that swampy sound of the South.
  6. I agree with the above --- this is a good song. I particularly liked the interplay between the guitars panned L and R. Nice one!
  7. Wonderful piece of work --- musically and visually. Thanks for posting the captions naming the various nebula, galaxies etc. This would make great music for one of my favourite TV series -- How the universe Works!

    Road Trip

Hi Bjorn. Gary is right. You always create wonderful sounds. This piece sets up a laid back, peaceful atmosphere while adding in happiness as well. Great work pal!
  9. I wasn't sure about this song when it first started. As it played further It started to grow on me. So -- I listened again and it captured me. This is really a very interesting song. and very well done. The instrumentation really sets a mood. The lyrics deliver the message and the vocals (perfect -- not over sold) complement the whole performance. The mix sounds very good. Excellent work!!
  10. A great power-house of a song. All of the performers did an excellent job and the mix sounds good. Great work guys!

    BYE BYE BABY

Some where way down on that SoundClick list, of what I am calling songs, is one called Bye Bye Baby Bye Bye. Well, I borrowed 3/5's of the title and the lyrics and was determined to set these to a different arrangement. Below is the result of this effort. I found the "train" drum beat (prominent in many rockabilly songs) rather difficult. Sooo, I imagine that my timing problem will be even more pronounced in this number (toward the end especially). Therefore, as usual I would appreciate any comments, crit.'s, and suggestions. Thanks! BYE BYE BABY https://www.soundclick.com/freddyj
  12. Good old straight ahead rock 'n roll. Most cool indeed! Great mix and great playing!!
  13. Wow this is a real power song! The group sounds very tight, the instrumentals are great and the vocals really present the lyrics very well! Great work y'all!!
  14. Very nice song. Excellent arrangement and the playing is excellent. I do get the feeling of floating on a river with the occasional smooth rapids. I really enjoyed the listen. Kudos!
  15. It might be out of your genre but this is a great high energy country number. The playing, vocals, mix are all excellent. Love the harmonies, BGV's, lyrics, and that guitar picking. Well done!
  16. Thanks very much for listening and commenting. You certainly have had some distractions. I hope things are going better and you are well!!

    Untouchable

Absolutely top notch as always. Excellent performances, production, composition of the music which are complimented with an excellent video.

    Crazy Fool

Absoflippinlutly wonderful song. Love the funky style. Although it is kind of a playful song it makes a point. "Nobody's tool " -- love it. Playing, performance, production, etc. -- what's not to like?
  19. Hi Nigel. Thanks for your kind comments. I'm glad that you enjoyed the song. We are still trying to get my sister's condo repaired. Ya --- hurricanes are not fun!
  20. My sincere condolences on your loss of Ms W and Missi. I hope that you are recovering from your surgery. That is a lot to deal with and I hope that you are alright! The song that you have posted for Missi is beautiful and quite a tribute indeed. I have had the good fortune to have shared my home and life with two dogs and lost both. They are always on my mind. I am amazed at how such strong relationships can be developed between two different species. I am also convinced that these are two way relationships. I hope that you are coping and wish you all the best.
  21. Hi Keith. Thanks! We are OK after the visits from Helene and Milton. My abode did not get damaged but lots of clean up outside from downed trees, branches, etc. Unfortunately my sister lives nearer the to the Gulf and had some damage to her condo and lost her car due to flooding. We are still working on some of the replacements and fixes for her. Thanks for you kind comments about the song. I am not sure why but timing issues have become a growing concern for me. I guess that I have been listening to too much Jimmy Reed.!?? I must admit -- when doing songs I have more fun when the lyrics are frivolous. Thanks again. Hey tom. As always, I appreciate the comments and input. I don't know what happened that the cymbal got cut off at the end but your right it needs fixing. Hi Jesse. How are you? I'm glad that you liked it. Thanks for your input and kind comments. Much appreciated! Thanks very much Jack. Ya, the blues were on us after Helene and Milton but today - "... the sun is shining on both sides of the street." Hi KSband. Thanks very much for listening and for your kind comments. Hey Bjorn. Thanks very much for your concern. I have been through a few hurricanes before and they are always ... ummm... interesting. However, Helene and Milton were the strongest I have been through and they were back to back right through the Tampa Bay area. That was a bit more than interesting! Thanks also for your kind comments about the song!
  22. Great classic Rock sound indeed! Good guitar work as well. Back in the olden days -- many early rock and roll song s were about "Rock 'n Roll will never die. Well that is true (sort of). It is not dead, you just have to look real hard to find it. I enjoyed the listen!
  23. I did not hear the 1st version but I was most certainly impressed by the last one that you posted. The lyrics and sentimentality were excellent. Your vocals were excellent. The overall instrumentation and sound sounded great to me. Listen as I may, like Treesha, I could not find any timing issues of annoyance with drums or otherwise. This is coming from a guy that constantly has timing problems with any song I attempt. I can't help it I - grew up listening to and thoroughly enjoying Blues guys like Jimmy Reed , Sonny Boy Williamson II , etc. (not known for their technical performance skills). They weren't perfect but they were real and got their message across. I think that you certainly got your message across!!

    1975

Ahhhh --- some mighty fine funk/jazz fusion!!! All the instrumentation is terrific ---- particularly that bass. Of course your sax playing was excellent. Oh yes, the vibraphone -- very cool!
  25. Great tribute indeed. Given the 1986 quality, I think that it sounds good. I thought the "boys in the band" all did a great job including the vocals. The lead vocal was very good as were the BGV's.
