  1. Here's the default settings for that particular preset in Breverb. Why not just adjust to these settings and re-save as default for that preset? (Check Preferences in Breverb to see if you can over write with confirmation). As another alternative per @sjoens you could RMB on this and restore all presets in any desired bank;
  2. I've used to use (before going all SSD) the free defrag & registry cleaner from Auslogics (Australia). Beware of the attempt to auto install additional crap, and of course the PopUp ads, but that's the way of the world. It used to work like a champ to defrag and optimize for fast access on my HDD's. There is also this thing called "Google" where you could find alternatives. 😁
  3. If you don't have a system/file backup on another drive, reinstall is your best bet.
  4. Let's clear up your confusion: There is NO native sampler available in CbB (Cakewalk by Bandlab [the DAW]). There is a sampler instrument now available in (the new) Sonar 2024-07 [the new version of the DAW] called XSampler, which can [currently] only load one sample at a time as seen HERE. I believe the article you referenced is for "Bandlab", the [web based] music creation tool, which IMHO, is far from a DAW. All three things are distinct animals.
  5. AFAIK the three default layouts <category/manufacturer/type> are hard coded into the DAW and cannot be removed.
  6. <shift + drag> from source track to destination track then select all clips on destination track and RMB <bounce to clip>.
  7. 5kHz is usually the first band to get damaged with long term FOH mixers. And they are usually the last to ever get their hearing charted at a good audiologist.
  8. Some Kontakt instruments default to -6dB output. Check preferences in Kontakt for the output level and/or set the level in the instrument in Kontakt (wrench) and <save as> custom preset. If that solves it, you can <save> and overwrite factory patch, but any updates will negate & revert. I've had that issue with Abby Road kits and the Scarbee basses. Took forever to figure it out years ago.
  9. I know that it's too late, but one of my favorite luthiers would always cut a slot longitudinally in the middle of the nut with an x-acto saw and remove the nut in two pieces by tapping them loose from the fretboard side and then the head side. Never failed.
  10. Sonar (latest version) has the XSampler available as an instrument plugin, but at this time, can only load one sample at a time. ^^^ DropZone was available, but IIRC it was 32bit, and may crash later versions of CbB, and could only load two elements. There is also the old-skool way of just flying the pieces into a new track with copy/paste... the way we all did it back in the days of tape machines. I do what you are requesting all the time using Kontakt (full version) and have gotten really fast at it. There are some other samplers out there that are lo-cost or free if you look.
  11. In the hand of a neophyte amateur, all-in-one mastering solutions are a fine tool, but in my market and what remains of the professional record genre, if you think that a great mastering engineer the likes of Merrill, Grundman, Leonard, Kutch, Reierson, et al, are out of business because of a piece of software, you're sadly delusional.
  12. Probably one of the first dozen artists in my youthful record collection. https://variety.com/2024/music/obituaries-people-news/john-mayall-dead-blues-legend-1236082294/
  13. ARM processors may be lightweight, run cooler, and use less power to execute the RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) single instruction per cycle, but they are not, and probably will not be, compatible with any x86/x64 operating system, which run (including all Apple products) on a CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computer) architecture. Using multiple ARM processors, parallel path instruction sets have been able to emulate the complex commands required by a Windows OS, but that makes the overall advantages moot when it comes to footprint & power consumption, much less support components (I/O chipset for example). There is no serious plan to manufacture anything other than small mobile devices (tablets, phones) using this architecture, no one is even thinking of using them in laptops or larger surfaces, much less desktop computers. However, if you want to try to run a (IMO toy crippled) DAW on a phone, there are options out there, including several that run in a browser window. So, yeah... you are in a very limited population.
  14. Why are you using the Global Audio folder? Especially on a drive with little room left. "Save as" the entire project to a drive with space using "Per Project Folders" & "Copy all audio" settings. Problem solved.
  15. Have you ever tried to power cycle your audio interface for a ten count when it hangs?
  16. There seems to be great opinions on this forum (and many other DAW forums too) that the Focusrite Scarlett line are fairly bulletproof.
  17. Network Interface Controller; your wifi or ethernet chipset.
  18. @Misha Have you spent any time interacting with other humans? After all... corporations are "people" too.
  19. Try moving start of all tracks to Bar2/beat1, and start playback/export at Bar1/beat1, then edit heads later to see if anything is different. Also extend any automation back to B1b1 as well so there are no jumps.
  20. Since Win Vista, all FW interfaces have required a TI (Texas Instruments) chipset. Others won't work.
  21. FYI; I've been running two dissimilar video cards for a decade without any issues, albeit they use the same GPU Architecture and driver. Never caused any issues with CbB or my video editing sled, probably because I've always run at 48k. However, I am currently sourcing candidates for another, newer quad output card so as to be compatible with a Win11 upgrade. $$$$
  22. Technique #3 from @Promidi previous post is just the ticket for that scenario.
  23. This has always been somewhat 'hit or miss' for me. I have to REALLY make sure that I'm pressing intently on the shift key and wait, because the response time is longer than expected as compared to the other tools. But I'm practicing and it works.
