This is a refreshing song and a damn good mix and performance. Welcome to the forum Mikael! Hope to hear more from you this year!
-
That was a terrific listen; it transported me and was over way too soon! I'll be coming back for more.

This is progressive pop/rock at its best! If I had written this tune, I would consider it my masterpiece. Very enjoyable mix and arrangement. Encore!
-
Outstanding! It's as if King Crimson met Smashing Pumpkins It leaves me wanting more!
-
Bjorn, thank you for your kind words! Congratulations on your fine work with Steve, and happy new year!
-

Bad Moon Rising (CCR cover) a darker version ..

I hope this is not blasphemy, but I like this better than the original (and I liked the original a lot). It takes a creative mind to reinvent a classic and OWN it! Take a bow, Mark!! HNY -
Terrific, guys! This song is even more haunting than ever. You should think of an encore. Happy New Year, Steve and Bjorn!
-
Beautiful vocal! You gave me a new perspective on this song. HNY

Ross, I'm so glad you enjoyed this! Your time and comments mean a lot to me. Happy New Year!

Thank you so much, Treesha! In the last 10 minutes I made some changes to this. After hearing a consensus form regarding the low end, I made some slight adjustments that I hope will address this issue. Your input is greatly appreciated.

FreeEarCandy, thank you for your kind words and time! I'm very pleased that you took the time to listen to some of my other songs, as well. I hope your holidays are filled with peace and joy!
-
Wow, this puts me in a very good mood! Well done. Wishing you and Liz the merriest of Christmases!
-
Treesha, you nailed this! I like the song, the lyrics, and your vocal and instrumental performances. It goes in unexpected places which really piques my interest. After listening to this several times on different days, the mix has grown on me. Having said that, perhaps the vocals could be cleaned up a little by using a hi-pass filter to clear the lower midrange of your voice, though you could leave this alone, and who would be wiser? Keep up the good work!!

Jack, this is one of the most interesting songs I've heard from you. The vocal and words are somewhat poignant which goes well with your chord progression and melody. This deserves a wider audience!
-
Kevin, you're hitting on all cylinders with this mix. Your singing and playing are so soulful that I keep going back to them for more! It just gets better over time. For the record, whenever you post a song, I typically listen to it numerous times because I love your songwriting! Keep up the good work and happy holidays to you.

Sadness In The Strings (Collaboration) - Removed
Lynn Wilson replied to FreeEarCandy's topic in Songs
I've now listened to this 3 times and still can't believe it's over 4 minutes long. I'm always left with wanting more. I love your guitar solo!! I hear and feel the sadness. Great songwriting and performance with an emotive mix. Encore! -
Thanks a ton, mate! I actually used my phone to monitor this at some stage in the process. Happy holidays to you and Liz! Steve, your words are always meaningful to me! I have taken the above advice and tweaked the bass while trying out some new approaches to this mix. I haven't posted yet, but the results are interesting. I'd love to hear Harrison do this; either Dhani or Olivia You certainly don't need EZK 2 to get those "Beatles" chords, but in your hands, God only knows what you would come up with. Thanks a million!
-
Mark, thank you for your time and advice! I think you're on to something, and I'll test this out later. I'm glad you like the song! KS, I like your idea of a McCartney style bass. I originally thought of making this piano only, but I kept adding this and that and ended up with what you hear. Thank you for your time and effort!
-
Thank you Kevin and Nigel! I was trying to be oh, so careful not to overload the low end, but maybe too careful. As for the reverb, I did choose a preset with plenty of reverb because I rarely use much at all. I've listened to so many piano songs drenched in reverb that I might have thought that it's normal. Anyway, these are two areas I'll look at very closely on the next pass. Good ears!

Greetings and salutations to all my CW friends this holiday season. I hope all is well for everybody in these challenging times. Here is a song that I wrote last summer using EZ Keys 2, Midi Guitar 2, SD3, and the other usual suspects. It is the first song I used EZ Key 2 on, and it is quite a tool; now I have to learn how to play this manually ? It's about that person almost everyone knows who goes about his or her life, quietly in the background, doing those small things that make everyone's life a little easier. As always, I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions for this, and I want to thank all of you for your time and effort! It can be found here: https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14611150 12/23: I've updated this to take advantage of the good suggestions I've received. I increased the low end by adjusting the bass and drums. Once I started making changes others followed, but most were subtle for clarity's sake. I really appreciate all your input!

This was a good start to my day! It's all very organic and sweet, but too short. (it's perfect)
-
Thumbs up!

Terry, I don't know whose vibe you were picking up, but your own vibe is so powerful that it takes front and center stage, anyway! I love this sound and this song, one of your best. It's polished and ready to be heard!
