  1. For wave to mp3 I have always liked RazorLame. The actual encoder is Lame. Lame has been around for years (1998). Lame has had many versions through the years. It is still considered the best mp3 encoder. This pair once setup is super fast, easy to use and free. This only makes mp3s. It doesn’t do other stuff. Quick media converter does a ton of stuff. It even has codecs for some phone formats. I use both. If it’s just audio I usually tend to use RazorLame. https://lame.sourceforge.io/ https://www.videohelp.com/software/RazorLame The video help site has a ton of great stuff. You might want to look around a little.
  2. I have used this for ages. It is free. Quick Media converter. It uses FFMPEG codec which is also free. It does not do everything, but it does some odd ones no one else does. It also has batch conversions that could be a batch with video conversions and mixed with some audio in the same batch. https://www.cocoonsoftware.com/
  3. Sorry I missed your question. No, I ran the bat file as administrator. I still can't get it to install. Thanks for any help.
  4. Yes this is a good idea visual C++ redistributibles I don’t know where the link is. Do you have any custom folder locations? If so, are they getting reset?
  5. I didn’t know what it was. I was assuming it might have been several spaces in the path to the .dll file. I have never had any of your installer do this before. Thanks again for all the great pulgins!!
  6. Thanks Canopus. I decided to use the easy way. I just used the setup in both to point to “my” layout folder. I did use this technic to move some sample libraries to an SSD! Tricking the programs worked great! Thanks for that!
  7. Try reuse existing lanes not (Unless takes overlap)
  8. Crash resolved - Microsoft Visual Redistributable damaged. Noel helped me fix this. I am a little late to the Sonar 2024.08 029 64bit. Current version observations - It works perfectly! Thank to Noel and the crew for all the time and effort you guys put into Sonar. I have a project I am working on that has 101 tracks, 32 buses, 217 plugins, 23 virtual instruments (Some frozen) loaded and will not run in Cakewalk by Bandlab, but runs fine in Sonar. This will be a great selling point. Many will move to Sonar for just these optimizations. Thanks for all the plug-in CPU checking ability. This way, a person can decide if a plug-in is worth the amount of CPU to consumes. Also, does an alternative plug-in sound almost as good, but use 1/2 the CPU! These are very important in large projects. Many Thanks!
  9. I can't get the sonar 08-24 update to even start. I was wanting to see it I could figure out anything.
  10. Only one problem. Crash on start. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kShlExz3zbzWefDmsPqpjLX7oUX64buh/view?usp=sharing I don't know if it would help - 6+more dmp files. Folder Access https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1HmoCx1L3nYHovGQp_jqK6BxU4TQGoeW7?usp=sharing Thanks, Max
  11. On that 150’ tracks. We still need to be able to freeze a bus (like stems). I guess I would need to export bus, import bus, archive tracks manually. Lol
  12. Nice that they let you do those trade ins. Great card!
  13. I have 150 tracks with 200 FX and my computer is choking So you looked at my last song? Yea I had to freeze about 140 tracks 😉
  14. Yes in a few years the gamers will have pc’s that should handle that.
  15. I love the Frontier Tranzport! I only wish it had one slider like the next higher version. It still works well for me in win10. Let us know if you get it running in Win 11.
  16. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/techspecs/W-FAIR-05 Only $1,100 The only trick part is that you will need the Fairlight studio console! ($21,995) 😆
  17. I decided I want to move them both to my custom directory where I have track templates, plug-in presets, FX-chains and articulation maps. so-> d:\templates\Plug-in Menu Layouts I want both sonar and cakewalk to look here. Can you help me with the mklink syntax for these? Thanks again! Max
  18. Yes, selective deletion is way easier in the staff view! I have to slide them around from time to time as well. Sometimes it takes me a few to re-re-re-figure this out again (insert echo 1 beat per quarter note) this out (again) lol.
  19. If you had a bunch of them, you could do it in the Event list view. You can sort by event type and zap them all in the matter of seconds!
  20. I almost set up a symbolic link to one set of plug-in layouts last night. I wasn’t sure the format was the same. I was looking for a plug-in I had just set up in the layouts and couldn’t find it. It dawned on me that I set it up in cakewalk not sonar. I certainly don’t want to have to add them 2 times. I set up one for 😄 samples to look in E:\samples (libraries and convolution files) for the same reason. Now if I could remember how I did that!
Thanks,
 Max
  21. I just noticed Layouts are in different locations. Can I copy an updated layout from one location to the other? Are the formats the same for both programs?
