  1. I think they're all good, and IMHO you can't go wrong with any of them.  The playing is always very professional and true to genre.  I play mostly rock/blues so the packs I prefer are "Dry Beats and Songs", "Blues", "American Rock", "Rock n Roll", "60's Beats" and "Retro Songs".   If you're a little leery you might buy just one pack, download it, and if you like it, try others.

    Good luck with your music.

    Vocal adder :)

Excellent idea.  It's time somebody made a plugin where you add the vocalist of your choice.  Who am I today?  John Lennon?  Sting?  Paul Simon?  Taylor Swift?  I think I'm gonna float the idea to Melodyne.

Well that's disappointing. 😕 Was hoping for some new stuff. Maybe AD3. I feel like they've completely abandoned it at this point so I'm going to start looking elsewhere.

I'm frustrated too.  How the heck old is AD2?  Five, six years?  They are sooooooooooooooooooo slow to add stuff that to makes me wonder if all is well in XLN-land.

  5. $500 worth of free IK plugins for signing up with the Recording Revolution for $7 per month.  Here's the email I got:

A few days ago, I announced that I would be reopening my global music community Recording Revolution VIP for new members.

And the response I’ve gotten has been nothing short of amazing.

People all over the world are excited to join a community of like-minded musicians and get their hands on the resources and guidance they need to take their music to the next level.

And all for the insane, low price of just $7/month :)

Well, the deal gets even better… because the Recording Revolution is teaming up with IK Multimedia to give every VIP member a plugin bundle worth $500 called the Total Studio Trio.

A quick disclaimer: I’m a firm believer in mixing with stock plugins.

Great 3rd party plugins are like buying a fancy new sports car.

If you can drive, they’re fun to use, and they get you to your destination in no time flat.

But if you can’t drive… you’re more likely to end up crashing into your garage door!

The right plugins can make crafting a great mix faster and easier for you - but you need to understand the basics of mixing to make sure you can use them correctly.

But don’t worry if you’re brand new to mixing - just spend an hour or two watching the free mixing tutorials on my YouTube channel, and you’ll already be far ahead of the pack :)

I’ll reveal more details about this special plugin bundle very soon…

But it truly is a gift with no strings attached.

So if you join VIP for a month and download the plugins, but you’re not happy with your experience and decide to leave afterwards - you can keep the plugins. No hard feelings, and we’ll still be friends.

Now here's how it's going to work: I’ll be opening up VIP in less than a week’s time, on Thursday, February 21st.

And if you’d like to claim $500 worth of free plugins while joining a global community of musicians (and getting all the sweet resources and perks of VIP)... keep an eye on your inbox come Thursday.

Hope you're having a great week!

  6. I thought it was very good and the vocal is quite compelling.  I could see it over the closing credits to a Ridley Scott movie.  And as much as I like the music I was equally hooked by the title!

  7. I just read a very article saying that songs are getting shorter and now average well under 3:00.  The reason they offered for this is that streaming sites (Spotify in particular) pay by the NUMBER of songs an artist has played and not the LENGTH of time an artist is played.  The logic that follows is that shorter songs mean more plays means more income.  I don't know if he's right, but it was an interesting idea.

If I had the $ I'd be jumping on this so hard I'd probably break my ankles.
Unexpected home repairs have killed my audio budget for anything other than a minor no-brainer for at least the near future.

Isn't it the truth!  Everything is fine, then just as Waves puts every plugin they have into one gigantic bundle for $49 the hot water heater bursts, which soaks your ceiling (and WHY do they put 40 gallons of water in the attic anyway???) and ruins your dining room table.  Not to mention the dinging room floor.  Then before the plumber can arrive the dryer and washer BOTH poop out.  And, oh yeah,  don't forget you've been putting that new roof off for two years . . . .   And in the meantime Izotope put all it's bundles on sale for 90% off.

  9. Years ago a study showed that 90% of people thought of their pets as family members.  That's because they are, and we love them intensely.  When my dog "Sally" died I cried for two days.   I hope you don't hurt long.  In time you'll decide what to do with the avatar.

Maybe a nice option for those that only have the SI one from Bandlab's Cakewalk.

Yes, those of us long time users likely have AD, Session Drummer, EZ Drummer, "Superior", etc  but those all cost us way more than $9.

I was thinking the same thing.  Somebody just starting in music can get going for a song these days.

I also don't think he's the right guy for the job.  Part of it is because he is a drummer and not a bass player, but another part is that he is very biased towards jazz and metal and seems unfamiliar with R&B and Pop.  If he were to develop JamBass along similar lines as JamStix, the list of bass player models might look like Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, Jason Newsted, Jeff Berlin, Les Claypool, Steve Harris, and Cliff Burton.  Meanwhile users would be pleading for James Jamerson, Paul McCartney, Carol Kaye, Larry Graham, Bernard Edwards, John Paul Jones, Bootsie Collins, Mark King, etc.

That's the truth.  I love jamstix, but you perfectly named it's weakness.  I keep waiting for the "Ringo" drummer to appear.
