Well hopefully, if so, they release a new (and better) replacement that will still run the old samples

You hit me with a ray of hope!  Thanks!  I'd love to see an ST 5.  I know it's dated, but I still use it often.

I'm loving this!  It's like a Tag Team.  Larry puts them on the mat, and BTP tags in for the count.  It's the Deals section at it's best.  Good stuff, guys!

This product was a decent idea that IK chose not to support properly. I have played with it, but it comes across as filler .  Kind of a shame.  There are probably better modeling solutions

Dub pretty well sums it up.  It's not necessarily bad, it just doesn't do much.

Every time I load Softube Installer; I end up needing to uninstall the softube install helper in programs and reinstall it to get it to work.

Is this the same for others?

Yuk!  That sounds sort of like my last experience with the IRS.  So, the Softube installer has worked A-OK for me.

    Change Log

    What’s new in SampleTank 4.2.6

Removed discontinued SampleTank libraries from default browser view.
    General reliability improvements

I checked what discontinued SampleTank libraries were removed from my specific default browser view.

    Miroslav Philharmonik 2
    Syntronik Free

Note: I had to do a full rescan of the content for all of the content to appear in Sampletank 4 after performing this update.

I am pretty sure no actual content is removed, however.

For instance, the Miroslav Philharmonik 2 content still appears when you search (though Miroslav Philharmonik 2 content only shows if no categories are selected)

I wish that IK would ask us if we want to remove discontinued rather that just doing it.  I appreciate very much the heads-up on that as well as the work around.  Thanks.

There are some plugins I couldn't live without, but there are three or four times that many that I can live without. The biggest issue isn't the quality, but just having too many duplicates that are aimed at emulating or performing in a similar fashion. Think compressor emulations or EQs doing... EQ things.

I could use something that is arguably better and newer (because people and reviewers are telling me this, especially some Grammy-award-winning producer I've never heard about).

There are some good points here because there is soooooooooooooo much marketing hyperbole around plugins.  "This one sounds EXACTLY like an LA2A that used vintage solder made before 1957."  They seem to always be finding a new angle to sell us the same stuff.   More and more I try to consider "What do I have, and what do I really need?"  That alone does wonders for the credit card balance.

I used Claude Sonnet 3.7 with limited results (and it made me feel dirty) before I discovered ConvertWithMoss which is easy and does a brilliant job.

I just checked this out (though I haven't installed it yet) and it looks great!  Thanks for the heads-up.

A CAL script is a text file that one can open in Cakewalk that can programmatically manipulate or enter MIDI data inside Cakewalk.

CAL stands for Cakewalk Application Language.  It has been available in various iterations of Cakewalk going back a few decades.

Up until around 2002, one could edit CAL scripts directly inside Cakewalk.

Fortunately, the latest versions of Cakewalk and Sonar can still load and execute them.

Geez, I am truly impressed you can do that.  I thought I was doing good to change the color of a track.

Wow - that's a great price for all that you get.  I love Amp Room but the CPU hit is almost unjustifiable, at least on my system.  I heard from the support team that they're working on improving start times and maybe some other efficiencies but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Ditto.  It sounded great, but my computer was groaning while using it.

Just curious, has anyone ever obtained a better mix by using an AI product compare to doing it yourself?

I'm asking because I still produce better-sounding mixes by manually applying my plugins.

Generally speaking, Sonible's Smart EQ will do a better, and far more subtle, job eq'ing than I will.  I tend to be a bit of a bull in a china shop with EQ.  Also, AIYAC's Mix Monolith gets me in the ballpark of a decent mix really quickly.

  11. Guys like this, and the folks at Analog Obsession, as well as other independent coders, do an incredible service to the music community.   They demonstrate a true community spirit.
