I’ve downloaded the freebies over the years, and there are number of them I really like. Nevertheless, I’ve resisted going down the full rabbit hole, and will probably continue to resist. For me, it is really creatively liberating that I don’t have to worry about CPU issues with  my current setup. To reintroduce some of those problems is just not worth it for me.

I can appreciate that.  While I love the Nebula sound, when I start adding instances it absolutely clobbers my cpu.

I feel a little silly postponing the update over a mere fifty bucks' difference

I think about it this way: $50 is two trips to the Mount Fuji sushi bar.

It's good to see you back here.  I hope you're doing well.

I've still yet to go the third party route for Nebula options.

Some of the third party libraries are really good.  I really like Timp.  He's been running a 20% off sale which makes his stuff very reasonably priced.  He also offers all his libraries in 44/48/88/94KHZ which I find helpful.  AlexB's stuff is excellent as well, but a tad more expensive.  Hidden symmetry posted a link to azzimov's skins, which are exceptional and well worth a look.

  4. Some good stuff comes with Nebula 4 that makes it worth a look.  You get a ton of reverbs as well as a few compressors and eq's.  To me, Nebula reverbs and eq's are pretty amazing.  There are also a few third party Nebula developers like Timp and Cupwise who offer additional components for around $25-35.  Analog in the Box and CD SoundMaster also offer great libraries that are a bit more expensive.   Also, Henry Olanga's giant libraries are now free.

I don't have this product myself. But what I have heard of it does sound really quite nice for something in this price range. If you'd like a good example of how it sounds in action I would recommend checking out Simeon Amburgey's 'First Look' video published on YouTube on June 13 of this year. Love your work, Simeon!

Thanks for the heads-up on that.

    Quick Overview

Signature Grand is a Model D 9-foot Concert Grand recorded in a beautiful hall/scoring stage. The instrument naturally excels in film and classical applications, but the user is able to craft the sound to be suitable to nearly any style of playing.

What makes our piano different? Our instrument is bursting with three-dimensional realism due to a unique sampling and scripting process that captures the beautiful early reflections of the recording space. By blending two microphone perspectives, the user is able to find the perfect balance between close and room microphones, as well as controlling the overall ambiance of the space through our "releases" controls.

Signature Grand is a deeply sampled instrument containing over 3000 samples in 24-bit, 10 dynamic levels per note, two microphone perspectives, and multi-velocity mechanical noises. Advanced features include repedaling, half-pedaling and various sympathetic resonances. Over 60 presets designed by Emmy Award-winning composer, Garth Neustadter are included covering film, classical, jazz, and pop styles. Designed for the full version of Kontakt 5 or 6 (Download Only). The instrument will not work with the free version of Kontakt.

  7. T-Comp was designed to provide versatile compression without impacting your transients!
Preserving transients is one of the reasons so many prefer to use parallel compression.
T-Comp allows to dial in how much of the original transient is retained allowing you to preserve the integrity of the original signal without parallel routing!  You can get it now only for $7.00 USD!
