  1. From listening on the CB-1s tonight, compared to my HD280 Pros, I find them MUCH more enjoyable to listen to. That doesn't necessarily translate to mixing, but I've never liked how the HD280 Pros presented the low end. Even though the specs say they can go down to like 8Hz, I've always had trouble really "hearing" the lows on them. The CB-1 made the lower frequencies come alive by comparison. I found them more "warm" and open, and they were perfectly comfortable to wear all evening.* That said, as a counterpoint - I had my son listen to them to see what he thought. He lives in his ATH-M50xs. He immediately said he didn't like the CB-1s and thought the low-mids were too "hyped". So a +1 and a -1 review... I'm glad to have picked them up and will likely be spending more time referencing and getting to know them. Totally worth the $34 bucks to me! Thanks for the tip guys! *Disclaimer: I do most of my mixing on monitors and pretty much use headphones for checking FX and referencing.

    Agree! +1
  3. Mine came this afternoon! No second email or anything, and it came in an Amazon box. (?) Regardless, they seem like much better quality than the price would suggest - MUCH better! Looking forward to giving these a spin!
  4. Hrmph. Here's hoping they don't pull a Musician's Friend move and not deliver....
  5. How do you know that??
  6. It looks like I ordered mine on Wed 3 hours after Bapu. At least that's when my confirmation email came in... Maybe Bapu ordered the last one? ?
  7. I got my order confirmation email but nothing else...
  8. The lack of branding IS the branding. ?
  9. These were on my short list, then those Status CB1s came up for $34 bucks!
  10. THIS is why I don't like the dongle. iLok got you to buy their proprietary dongle AND buy insurance on the dongle in case something happens to it? All of this to "protect" a piece of software you bought. Granted it sounds convenient right now, but I have already moved my Waves and iLok plugin licenses to the "cloud" and "Managed Devices" my Plugin Alliance machine. It was relatively painless. Of course, this is not a hard drive failure either, thank goodness! I like that I don't have to worry about my Melda, Valhalla and Boz (others too) plugin licenses. I'll probably just uninstall the Izotope stuff - or not. I'm starting to feel lazy again.
  11. Nope, nothing. Would be a pain to go through ALL of the plugins to de-authorize too. I just got this back from support: So, I'm just going to forget it and install on the new machine. When I start getting closer to 5 installs, I'll worry about it then...
  12. I guess that was my question - how? I looked around in the installer and didn't see an obvious way. But like I said, it was late.... ?
  13. Quick question because it was late last night and I'm lazy - I'm installing a new DAW PC. Do I need to uninstall my Izotope plugins or move the licenses from my old PC? i.e. iLok and Waves I just move the licenses to the cloud then reinstall...
  14. Me too! Thanks for the heads up!
  15. I don't have many Kilohearts plugins, mostly the free ones. But one thing that is impressive to me, is their installer. Seriously. No fuss and very slick. It sounds kind of stupid, but I think is indicative of the quality of the programming...

    Wusik MSTR FREE

It was all the emails that made me stop looking...
  17. I like the idea. Would be great if we could somehow get it to his family...
  18. Oh hey, while I'm at it. Is there a way to separate the WET vs the DRY signal coming out of the Live Rig for recording? I didn't check for this last night but woke up wondering about it...
  19. I'm glad because I couldn't find it... Not even a FREE one to put in stand alone "Live Rig". Seems like an oversight to me. I had to resort to my old "analog" tuner... The horror! ?
  20. Can any Nembrini users please tell me where to find the tuner? i couldn't find a built-in tuner on this thing last night...
  21. You don't have to buy a sound card in this case! ?
  22. Here's another reply from another user who tried it out over on the Indie Recording Depot. I don't think he'd mind me posting here...
  23. Yep! You don't own any Plugin Alliance stuff??
  24. Add it to your cart then use the code at checkout? I haven't done it yet, but I assume that's how it would work.
  25. A guy on another forum reported back that it seemed to install OK, but he couldn't get his two machines to connect and left it at that. He was on a Mac and a PC, so that might have been a problem. Also, you have to install the plugin you want to offload onto the other machine, so licensing might be an issue....
