FYI - I'm in the same boat. I actually just moved over to a new-to-me PC. I was dreading moving the Waves stuff over.* But, I followed the steps on their website on how to do it. To my surprise, I found that the newer Waves Central worked pretty well with my v10-12 plugins. Then the offline installer worked for the v9 stuff (most of my Waves plugins) and was almost painless. * Anti-WUPper and proud

As an explanation, when I saw the Forum Troll (currently 12 posts) show up HERE and start spewing the same bile he did on another forum I enjoy spending a lot of time on, I got quite irritated. Especially so, since he has never even tried - in TWO YEARS! - to get any sort of resolution to his purported "problem". I'd also like to point out that there was a real discussion going on that could be useful information to other forum members and even the dev in question - and it was totally appropriate in a "deals" forum. But to have someone "drop in" and start poisoning the discussion HERE all over again... ? I consider a lot of these members here my virtual friends and I suppose I felt a sort of duty to give them a heads up not to waste their time and hopefully save them the aggravation. Anyway, sorry about my response above John, and please accept my apology. ------ back on topic ----- By contrast, Melda charges you nothing to upgrade all of your plugins to the latest version. ... and they actually update their plugins.

SSL had the Native X-Saturator and the Native X-Comp on sale for $20 bucks each in Oct and Dec of last year and I quite like them both - a LOT. I would recommend them. (Thanks Lars!! ? ) But because of last year's sales, I'm not really tempted because I feel like I've got SSL by SSL stuff covered now. Although, I have no doubt they will be good though.

FYI folks, don't even bother replying to this guy "mlad 72". "mlad 72" complained about this same gd thing over on KVR for OVER TWO YEARS and never once contacted Melda support about the issue to give them the opportunity to look at his account and fix the problem. For some reason he doesn't want Melda looking at his account... ? The thread was eventually shut down because it was going nowhere, and all he did was complain and wouldn't do anything about it. Obviously the same thing is about to happen here, now that he has showed up... Later.

The LE plugins are the "easy" screen versions of the full plugins and don't have access to the "edit" screens. So you wouldn't use MTurboReverb to upgrade to a bundle that has MTurboReverbLE, they are not the same license. When you were done, you'd have your bundle license and MTurboReverb license. At least that's how I understand it would work. But that wasn't even the original question. (??)

Are you sure about this one? I guess I've always had miscellaneous singles that applied towards the next bundle... (?) I don't follow you, sorry. He upgraded to a bundle which included his original plugin (which he got credit for). Nothing was downgraded. What's unfortunate, is that it's no longer an individual license, so he can't get credit for it again to pick up the full version - MTurboReverb. It would have been good to know how it worked beforehand because he may have made a different decision when using the license to upgrade. FWIW, keep an eye out for one-off Melda sales. Those $15-$20 deals can really add up to good discounts on bundle upgrades, especially during BF. A couple of years ago - I think it was Audio Plugin Deals - had MTurboReverb and MTurboComp for $99. So other sales do come around. Thanks for the heads up Barry.

I don't see the problem. Once you upgrade to a bundle, you get a license for that bundle, and all of the individual licenses are rolled into that. But you got a discount for owning MTurboReverbLE when you bought the bundle. If you upgrade to MTurboReverb instead, you still get credit for it. Then, you could eventually get a discount for a bundle that contains MTurboReverb. So you could kind of double-dip with the credits that way... Still, Melda gives you credit for owning MTurboReverbLE either way... Seems perfectly fair to me.

I got this freebie a couple of years ago and quite like it. Two of the presets are VERY usable and add nice depth when layered with other reverbs. But even on its own, it sounds pretty good. I also like the one by Acon Digital on Reverb. I always try that out on my snare. There's something about it that I really like. It seems silly to me to complain about FREE plugins. Just try them out. If you don't like it, don't use it. You're out nothing but a little time.

I had high hopes for this when I got the email. I use the mini SurferEQ from Sonible all the time, which was given out by the Sound Collective a few years ago. I was hoping it was some sort of extension of the Sound Collective. ...then I read on and came to say the same thing.

That's a good review and I don't disagree with any of it. It especially interesting to me in that the reviewer is comparing with the same hp I have, the HD280 Pros. After two evenings of listening to them, I don't mind wearing them at all, in fact, I'm actually enjoying listening to them! Thanks @Reid Rosefelt for bringing these to our attention!

From listening on the CB-1s tonight, compared to my HD280 Pros, I find them MUCH more enjoyable to listen to. That doesn't necessarily translate to mixing, but I've never liked how the HD280 Pros presented the low end. Even though the specs say they can go down to like 8Hz, I've always had trouble really "hearing" the lows on them. The CB-1 made the lower frequencies come alive by comparison. I found them more "warm" and open, and they were perfectly comfortable to wear all evening.* That said, as a counterpoint - I had my son listen to them to see what he thought. He lives in his ATH-M50xs. He immediately said he didn't like the CB-1s and thought the low-mids were too "hyped". So a +1 and a -1 review... I'm glad to have picked them up and will likely be spending more time referencing and getting to know them. Totally worth the $34 bucks to me! Thanks for the tip guys! *Disclaimer: I do most of my mixing on monitors and pretty much use headphones for checking FX and referencing.
