  1. I forget how much I paid, but got it back in the late 80's and from Musician's Friend when it was a mail order catalog...
  2. Anyone can totally make professional quality music these days with ZERO investment! CbB and all the quality FREE plugins available is just insane! And to think of all of those years in my basement with my Tascam 4-Track... What a great time to be an audio nerd!!
  3. I started with Sonar early on, then switched to Studio One and never looked back. It does everything I need it to and then some... I keep meaning to install CbB but just never get around to it. Someday if SO goes belly-up or totally disses its customers or somehow it doesn't do something I need it to, CbB is the first next DAW I'll be trying out. A big reason for that are the folks on this forum. You guys rock.
  4. Not necessarily - I picked up MTurboReverb and MTurboComp last December for $99 from AudioPlugin Deals. That was a crazy good deal. 50% off the retail on those 2 is $250. In this case, I came out ahead...
  5. Hey guys, here's another angle on the 50% off everything. The "Bundle Upgrades" are also 50% off! By upgrading to the "MEssentialsFX Bundle" - with the plugins I already owned and a handful of credits and this 50% off deal - I just got MTurboDelay, MLimiterX, MTurboCompLE, and MTurboReverbLE for only $9.50!!! So check in your account under “My Licenses” towards the bottom of the page for your Bundle Upgrade price. You may be surprised.
  6. I'm in the same boat with a mix of v9-10 plugins and had nothing but headaches when Waves first "updated" to v10. It seems they have mostly worked it out now and my mixed versions are happily residing side by side. Also, I've never "WUPped".
  7. Not anymore. They added it with latest update... https://www.presonus.com/press/press-releases/PreSonus-Studio-One-45
  8. The new MCabinet is 1/2 off the introductory price. Bundles too! Crap. https://www.meldaproduction.com/MCabinet
  9. That's why God made acoustic guitars. ?
  10. My previous download is dated June 9. thanks for the heads up! I thought it sounded familiar. ?
  11. Some of my other favorites have been already been mentioned - Blue Cat's Chorus is the first I reach for, Melda's bundle is super deep and useful, Super Charger is killer, it still amazes me that TDR's Nova is FREE!, and Blue Cat's" Gain Suite" is ingenious - just put one on either side of an analog modeled plugin, link the gains, then dial in the sweet spot for the plugin and you're automatically gain staged. Here are a few more... Acon Digital's Solo Reverb: https://reverb.com/software/effects/acon-digital/47-reverb-solo Boz Digital: https://www.bozdigitallabs.com/product-category/free/ Hofa 4U bundle: https://hofa-plugins.de/en/plugins/4u/ LaGrange Delay: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/lagrange-by-ursa-dsp Sonic Anomaly has some good ones: https://sonic.supermaailma.net/plugins Stone Voices Ambient Reverb: http://stone-voices.ru/vst/ambient_reverb Valhalla Free Delay: https://valhalladsp.com/shop/delay/valhalla-freq-echo/ Xfer Records OTT mb-compressor: https://xferrecords.com/freeware/ Youlean Loudness Meter: https://youlean.co/ Zynaptiq Subspace: http://www.zynaptiq.com/subspace/ Still want more? Try KVR's insanely comprehensive searchable database: https://www.kvraudio.com/plugins/effects/free/newest So many plugins, so little time. ?
  12. You'll get used to it.
  13. Ditto. I've replaced all the HDs in our laptops here at work with Crucial SSDs. No problems either. PS. THAT's a good price!
  14. Valid point. Great point!
  15. Playing devil's advocate - if my PC goes down, I can restore a backup and retrieve my Melda licenses (or Boz Digital) from the file I downloaded - or download them again from my account online. No need to PAY a 3rd party company for the privilege of using a license that I bought - even Waves gives you the option of using your own USB stick. (Even Melda's rent-own subscription is customer oriented and doesn't feel like a money grab.) Subscriptions are for the benefit of the company - it fills the need for a recurring revenue stream. (rant over.)
  16. +1 I hope Chandler is on commission or something! His videos alone have really opened up the market for Melda in a practical way. I own a number of them and still get lost when I try to really dig in...
  17. My guess too. Although Dirk is really shaking things up lately, so maybe there'll be some sort of twist?
  18. THIS is the way to end a promotion that's not really getting traction and to take care of and appreciate your customers. What a cool move by PA! Wow... I wish I had bought a Pick Pack now. ?

    Boz Gatey-Watey 19$

Ahhh, I missed that point. My bad.

I don't think that is correct. Not an iLok fan - but I recently de-authorized my SoundToys plugins on a PC and freed up an Activation slot. I now have 1 of 2 available... Unless I am mis-remembering and SoundToys gives you 3 Activations. (??)
  21. First off, great FREE loudness meter. https://youlean.co/ Nice tutorial on its features here. Use the code "IN-THE-MIX" from the description for 20% off the Pro version which makes it $37.60.

    Boz Gatey-Watey 19$

It feels like the opposite to me - like the big boys are radically dropping prices and putting the squeeze on the small shops...

Just so we're on the same page. I'd hate to see a good deal go unappreciated...
