Yes, the M1 is supposed to be fast. I don't know much about this M1 stuff. I was on an old i7 mini which was cool. But that one you were able to open up and upgrade ram and disks. I am not sure about these new minis. The mini was a very cool and handy and small footprint computing solution. It served me well for years.

8gb ram and 256gb disk. aint gonna fly as a DAW. but i may be wrong.

Really? I was playing around with searching for aliasing a while back and used various spectral analyzers and what not. I discovered I can't hear past 10 or 12k. Making changes in the 20k spectrum made no audible difference to me. I have no clue what happens at 30k.

they can't afford me. they probably only hire young guys that are willing to work for cheap. They are based in Montreal. The cool thing about Monteral is property and rent is relatively cheap compared to other parts of the country. So that attracts lots of musicians and art types that don't want to work in 9-5 finance districts.. Hence the city is a little more arty and laid back. Also, all the cool and great concerts come through Montreal.. every summer.

Agreed. download and demo and see how it performs on your system. But I am glad i picked up the 99 at that price. I was looking at other YT posts and realized I am an idiot. I wasn''t driving the input hard enough to get the color they can do. A decent post on how to use them and what they do . I think, thus far, I got 3/4 of the Tapes and about 1/2 of Tracks for < $50 in total so far.

yup. this is that point where one has to decide. are you looking for invest more $ into emulations of vintage effects gear or do you save that money and put it towards an investment into new effects tools like fabfilter? i dont know.
