  1. For plug-ins that process MIDI data some are hardcoded to respond to CC1 is a particular way others allow the user to map CC1 to a function This should be in the plug-in documentation. CC1 may be used at the DAW level for remote control
  2. This is most often done by recording two mono tracks then after recording panning one track to the left and the other to the right
  3. Maybe this will help https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013269/Selecting-Stereo-versus-Mono-Inputs-for-Audio-Tracks
  4. It begs the question why record like that in the first place? Mono instruments most often are recorded by selecting the interface channel for the incoming signal and setting the track interleave to mono. If one forgets to do this, either of these bounce the track using Split Mono channel format, center pan the new audio track and throw away the empty track or set the track interleave to mono will produce a mono track. But to answer the question, one way is add Channel Tools to the FX rack and center the left channel in the plug-in. Select the track and Process > Apply Effect > Audio Effects. Although actually rendering the track is not necessary.
  5. Pretty sure I mentioned the Video View must have focus.
  6. The easiest upgrade path is leave X3 installed and use the Cakewalk Web Installer to add Cakewalk by BandLab and optional add-ons. There are considerable changes from SONAR X3 to SONAR Platinum and SONAR Platinum to CbB. The three DAWs are documented here.
  7. Dropouts generate a toast message with a code and a link to the help. This may be useful in diagnosing the cause of the dropouts. As a rule, committing Region FX clips ASAP is a good idea. If one is unsure of the Region FX changes, archive a copy of the original track. Then there is something to fall back to if the Region FX changes need to be undone.
  8. Just tried binding [ and ] to Step Backward and Advance One Frame and it works as expected when the Video View has focus.
  9. IIRC, it was removed from SONAR Platinum (in 2015?) and was not restored in CbB. http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=FileManagement.4.html
  10. Owners of BYOME should have a standing offer for $49.99 TRIAD in their account. That is before any vouchers.

    I found a "Licensing Agreement.txt" in "C:\Cakewalk Content\Audio Library\Loops\X-MiX" Here is its contents
  12. I bought BFD3 a while ago for $99 and thought it was a bargain. Following the directions in https://forum.bfddrums.com/t/read-this-if-you-need-replacement-eldorado-london-sessions/194, I received the London Session expansion pack for free using my Eco 1.5 serial number.
  13. Chrome can use ASIO. It is one reason BandLab initially required Chrome. "MIDI Latency" is a function of the ASIO buffer settings. Latency is all on the audio side. It has nothing to do with MIDI. AFAIK there is no dedicated forum for the BandLab DAW. There is a Facebook group and support@bandlabcom.com
  14. Right-click in the keyboard area for the Note Name dialog.
  15. Only one ASIO driver may be used at a time. To change ASIO drivers deselect both input and output then all the driver options will be enabled. BTW, it may be a good idea to remove the Generic Low Latency Driver. This may be done by renaming the driver or removing the entry from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO As a rule it is a bad idea to have more than one ASIO driver for a given device and generic drivers appear as a second driver for all devices with a manufacturer supplied driver.

  17. Browsing their site today I noticed updates since these were last on sale. AFAIK SSL does not send out notices about software updates. So here are the most recent versions available from https://www.solidstatelogic.com/products/uc1?tab=DownloadsandDocuments SSL 360 v1.2.15.48615 Channel Strip 2 v1.0.55 Buss Compressor 2 v1.0.55
  18. Exports of entire projects run to the last bit of data. If the export is longer than expected it is often an automation node or midi data past the expected end of the song that needs to be deleted. Time-based selections are a way to get the exact export length every time. First select the tracks to export. When exporting all tracks use CTRL+A. Then set the time range. If the export starts at the beginning of the project all that needs to be set is the end. To set the end, move the Now marker to the "end" of the project and either hit the "Set thru=Now" button in the Select Module (B in the image below) or use the Edit > Select > Thru=Now menu option Both start and end time may also be set using Edit > Select > By Time..., using the export module or by or click-drag across the timeline.
  19. I upgraded from V 6 this morning using the $149 offer in my account. The invoice does not mention SQ80 but the Software Center installed it. Later I went into my account to look for the 2 expansion packs and found them along with a few others I forgot.
  20. One thing to check is the Import Bit Depth setting. I use the default value Original.
  21. I don't see that. When I create a new project, copy an audio file into the per-project audio folder and drag the audio file into the project from the CbB media browser the clip is in the project and the audio folder only has one clip in the project audio folder.
  22. It should work fine. Pretty easy to test too. Rather then use the import dialog for clips already in the project audio folder I use the media browser and drag them into the project.
