VST reset is a scan. It clears the VST inventory in registry then executes a scan. There is no reason to perform another scan immediately after running reset.

Run a VST reset If a plug-in that works on one machine but does not work on another points to a bad or corrupted install or the PC is missing some file the plug-in needs possibly MS runtime libraries.

That or a VST Reset while running the DAW as administrator. Run all scans/resets from Preference > File > VST Settings and not the plug-in manager. And if you use the "rescan failed plugins" option make sure to disable it after running the manual scan. Leaving the rescan options enabled can cause problems.

It depends on how severe the failure is.

The log shows it was previously scanned and determined not to be a plug-in. Normally plug-ins are scanned one time. Subsequent scans will not rescan the plug-in unless running a VST reset or "rescan failed plug-ins" is enabled. If you perform a manual scan with "rescan failed plug-ins" enabled make sure to deselect the option after scanning.

BitBridge automatically loads when a 32bit plug-in is encountered. If this is 32bit, it may be an old SynthEdit plug-in. Can't tell from the website. In that case, it may require running the DAW as administrator or installing the plug-in in a folder where regular users have write permission.

For goodness sake, please start using directory junctions instead of messing with the registry and preferences. They are much safer, easy to setup and don't require any changes to the registry or preferences. If you need help with directory junctions ask or search this forum for mklink or the old Cakewalk forum (use Google, site:forum.cakewalk.com mklink scook) There are plenty of worked examples and details on how to use mklink. That said, I do change a couple of paths in preferences instead of creating junctions. The reason being, I don't want the installers to write into the paths. The two I change are drum maps and project templates. The installers update the default locations only so using custom locations for these two areas prevents them from being overwritten by updates. There are a couple of arp paths. Simply running the uninstall/reinstall from BA will not affect any user data. Running a clean install does not affect projects, however; it may affect plug-ins. See this post if you elect to perform a clean install
