IK Hammond B-3X does not open. It crashes Cakewalk by Bandlab
scook replied to Craig Reeves's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Try setting ExceptionHandlingSeverity to 7 in Preferences > Initialization File to force a dump For more info see the Improved plug-in exception handling / crash reporting section in http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=NewFeatures.023.html -
Is this setting being used with the TTS-1 plug-in or the MS GS Wavetable synth built into the PC?

v2 source code has been released along with this schedule from the development blog

Can't see VST3 version of Guitar Rig
scook replied to user7093690303730650's topic in Instruments & Effects
VST3 in not mentioned in the specs https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/guitar/guitar-rig-6-pro/specifications/ Are you sure NI now ships VST3 plug-ins? -
Try other driver modes in preferences If using the internal sound chip and running Win10 try the WASAPI modes first.

Yes and now with the export dialog in 2021.09, it is easy to setup an export task with fixed start and end times

If you are currently running CbB 2020.09 or newer use the in-app update process If you are running a version of CbB older than 2020.09 use the Cakewalk Web Installer. FWIW, uninstalling CbB does not remove user data such as projects and setup info in the user directory.

Instead of deleting a node, try right-clicking the envelope in the automation lane and select "delete envelope" from the context menu

Might have been changed in 2021.06. There was a bit of work done in that area. Can't say for sure I so rarely use the split and make instrument functions.

The direct link to the program is https://www.fourmilab.ch/webtools/midicsv/midicsv-1.1.zip Unzip the file to a folder. Copy the midi file to the folder Then at the command line type: midicsv someMIDIfile.mid > someMIDIfile.csv Then load the csv into a text editor or spreadsheet to see the data.
-
Works for me. Select the audio and MIDI tracks that point to the same instance of a synth and the Make Instrument Track menu option is enabled.
-
MIDICSV will let you see exactly what is in the file. The link to the Windows binary is midway down the page.

Anyone using the External Encoder built into CbB to export files?
scook replied to gmp's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It's not that bad. For years there has been a graphical editor in the utilities menu to perform the registry edits. -

See if they scanned as FX. If this is the case, run a VST reset from preferences Otherwise, try the new Cakewalk Web Installer to reinstall.
-
No but you could create articulation maps and use the Piano Roll View along with the staff view. The notes used in articulation maps are not visible in any view.

Don't know about a dedicated tool but findstr should work. At the command line it would look something like findstr /c:"Some Tag" /m *.mid

[Closed ] New Cakewalk web installer
scook replied to Noel Borthwick's topic in Early Access Program
BA was primarily designed in Singapore for BandLab, the web-based DAW. It was pressed into service as a CbB install/updater in order to have something on day one. The new installer is being developed by the CbB team. The new installer is primarily for new installs although it will update too. Users with CbB 2020.09 and newer installed should use the in-app update process. -
Try the new Cakewalk web installer

Are you installing for the first time or updating an existing install? If updating, what version is installed?

For plug-ins that process MIDI data some are hardcoded to respond to CC1 is a particular way others allow the user to map CC1 to a function This should be in the plug-in documentation. CC1 may be used at the DAW level for remote control
